Elbert was beautiful! But it's a massive challenge if you're up for it. Be prepared for bad weather, bring snacks and water. Take it slow, listen to your body and you should be fine! I've camped and climbed in the Wichita mountains, it was really nice!
I have watched SO many videos, just waiting for someone to go up North Elbert trail and come down South Elbert trail. That was your intention, correct??? Was the S. trail marked at the top, but you wandered off it on the descent?
Yeah that was the intention hahah. We saw some people hiking along the ridgeline to the Southwest and assumed it was the South trail. When we looked at GPS an hour later, we realized our mistake but it was too dangerous to go back the way we came
Mount Elbert starts at 3:54
Hey I’m planning a trip would you recommend Elbert to someone who’s only climbed the Wichita mountains

The North to South Trail was great though! Lots of people to commiserate with going up the north side, and beautiful views on the south
