  • Welcome back ablation nation!
    We have 13 hours of laser cleaning compressed into less than 4 minutes for you!
    If you would like to see the longer video, please let us know in the comments below.
    As usual, let us know what you think of the video and we will work to make the next one better, which for the lack of a better work will be an underwater chainsaw.

    It's so satisfying to see this stuff. I live in Florida, and corrosion of most metal parts in this heat and humidity is common. I just can't justify spending $$$$ bucks on a laser to do this. Hopefully someday they will be cheaper.

    • @projectlaser
      @projectlaser  Год назад +1

      look at a CW laser, only $$, they are not to be pointed at stainless steel, precision parts, copper or brass, they will work on run of the mill steel and iron though

    • @lenikt3560
      @lenikt3560 Год назад

      @@projectlaserso it should work on cars and car parts? what's the approx. cost?

    • @projectlaser
      @projectlaser  Год назад +2

      @lenikt3560 if you're referring to CW lasers, they can. Though unlike pulsed lasers they produce a big flame when removing paint. Another important thing is that no laser is designed to remove heavy rust. They're tools for surface rust, $10,000-$30,000 for a 2000W model

  • @redwards3457
    @redwards3457 2 года назад

    This looks awesome, but all this stuff seems to be outdoors . isn't it just going to immediately flash rust again? or did you wipe the stuff down with oil after? also, i hope those markings and labels were not important part numbers ,etc. lol

    • @projectlaser
      @projectlaser  2 года назад +2

      According to a test done in Canada, yes. we dont have the report unfortunately

  • @thzzzt
    @thzzzt Год назад

    So I take it that it won't work on pitted rust? Not really a substitute for abrasive blasting?

    • @projectlaser
      @projectlaser  Год назад +2

      Rarely, in our opinion, do pulsed laser compare with blasting, it's non abrasive and generally can't profile the substrate at all or too an adequate level. More a comparison to chemical stripping, manual cleaning, or dry ice/ soft blasting like soda

      A CW laser is the same type of lasers that's used to cut through metal, they simply use a galvanometer to rapidly move the laser beam around, some CW lasers can be purchased with 3 tips, laser cutting, welding and cleaning.
      A pulsed laser and specifically our Top hat laser source is designed to not profile, scratch or damage the surface it is cleaning.

    • @projectlaser

      Depends on what you want to do! you couldn't clean what I cleaned in this video with a CW laser, but you could remove corrosion from steel, carry out non-destructive testing surface prep and a bunch of other activities where the client wont mind a scratches surface
