  • Discussing the process of designing a propeller for aircraft such as drones, RC planes, and RC boats. We go over free propellers, toroidal propellers, and ducted fans or ducted propellers. Making your own EDF is hard, and some of you might need guidance.
Looking shallowly into the science of propulsion. We look at design more than science.
We destructive test propellers to see how many blades is optimal for an electric ducted fan, EDF.

dumb question, how do you make the blade shape in fusion 360?

It actually was very annoying, they are sqept paths, you may need 3D sketches then you can use a circular pattern with the swept feature. I suggest playing around with it. I haven't gotten into it, but I think Fusion has a modeling tab where you can take a shape and form it down like in Maya or Blender. If you want precision like with propellers use function lines, but I've found that most engineers are too pragmatic (they go by feel).

      I don't have one, but -- making one -- that's a great video idea.

    Burnout resin and vacuum casting.
