When I was in school, I was being harassed and assaulted every day. Finally, I broke down crying in front of my mom. We were about to leave and go home, but mom could see me shaking and saw my face. I looked like I'd been through the wringer. She got me to say what was going on, and I was mortified, and terrified. Not only did she drive to the parking lot and get out of the car, with me in tow, but she didn't stop at "teacher first." She dragged me to the vice principal's office and forced me to say it. I was terrified that the violence would get *worse* if I said anything. But I was more terrified to go to Mrs. Thompson's office, since she scared the holy crap out of me on the first day of school. I was only trying to hold the door for her, to be polite. She growled at me to "get to class," and I turned tail and ran. Still, my mom stood up for me, even when all I wanted to do was go home, go to bed (at 2:30 in the afternoon, btw), and cry.

Harassment, wanton destruction of property, and assault. Angela would be going to juvie in a different show. But this isn't a show about people who learn that assault is *NOT* okay. So Sophia has to just blame herself, pray to Jehovah, and take the abuse without so much as reporting it to a school official, even a teacher. The story could have been resolved with the son doing something. He was there to see it. Or even a teacher could have walked out from behind the bullies and heard what was said. I did not confront them personally, I went to the principal of their (and my youngest's) school and lodged a complaint they could not ignore! The triplets were banned from the bus for the rest of the term and were on probation when they were allowed back on. I got a personal thank you from the bus driver! The whole "Pray to Jehovah and he will fix it" narrative is an excuse for lazy parenting!

I grew up with some religious trauma that was in no way the same as JWs experience. But it affected my relationship with God to the point where i didn't follow religion for years. It still affects my life in some ways but I'm so glad he is in it. I can't imagine how hard it is for JWs.

Where are the ADULTS? I am a child who was bullied and wasn't even a JW. I went to adults all the time and of course I learned to NEVER trust an administrator, I just straight up went to the off duty officer on campus and he did do something. I honestly as a sp.ed had to be MEAN to my bully and rub their face I can call the police and make their lives difficult. Then again I always believed all football and sporties were bullies with NO FEELINGS or emotions, until I saw the actions of Columbine and these jocks and sporties made me the target of the police because I played video games, chose to HATE SPORTS, and read a lot of fantasy and science fiction novels, apparently in Texas that was painted as being a BAD PERSON to them. So yeah, honestly bullying on any level is bad and when JW kids did defend me, I was afraid they would preach, but none of them did because we had to watch each other's back, and many of these kids were physically in mentally out.

While I was doing that I watched this video and I started believing the message partly because of the powerful images when the people in the congreation together prayed in their bubbles and it reached Heaven... Christian parents would’ve gotten to the bottom of this. As a parent, I’d encourage our kids to pray the hurt away and even pray for the bully because there’s obviously something wrong with the bullies, but I’d make sure the teacher does something about them before they hurt someone else.

So Sophia has to just blame herself, pray to Jehovah, and take the abuse without so much as reporting it to a school official, even a teacher. That sucks, as this kind of message seen through the eyes of the children watching, says not to stand up, not to report the bullying (even when it turns violent), and not to do anything about it at all. But if I took this to heart, like the kids watching this, I might never have tried to get away. I might never have said anything. I don't want that for other folks, but the mindset of "don't report it, just keep praying and doing nothing proactive to stop the harassment and *physical ASSAULT* that's going on," is just going to lead to more trouble than the Watchtower can bear.

When I was being bullied at school I remember I used to pray for god to take my life bc I was scared that if I did it then I would go to hell, I was like 11 no one should go trough that, im now better but still religious trauma affects me to this day and this kind of propaganda will only make this problem worse, forcing your children into your religion is abuse

The story could have been resolved with the son doing something. He was there to see it. Or even a teacher could have walked out from behind the bullies and heard what was said. On the subject of how parents should do a better job of protecting their children: When a set of triplets were terrorizing (and, quite frankly, causing potentially dangerous situations) the other students on the school bus they and my daughters rode and nothing the driver was allowed to do was working, I stepped in. I did not confront them personally, I went to the principal of their (and my youngest's) school and lodged a complaint they could not ignore! The triplets were banned from the bus for the rest of the term and were on probation when they were allowed back on. I got a personal thank you from the bus driver! The whole "Pray to Jehovah and he will fix it" narrative is an excuse for lazy parenting!
Telltale did an episode where he broke down the color palates of JW videos. A purple glow (like the bully’s eyeshadow and her lollipop) indicates evil. It’s the same way they showed higher education, and video games.

I grew up with some religious trauma that was in no way the same as JWs experience. But it affected my relationship with God to the point where i didn't follow religion for years. It still affects my life in some ways but I'm so glad he is in it. I can't imagine how hard it is for JWs.

I'm go glad I wasn't raised as a jw, if somebody tried to bully me, I used to fight back and get into trouble with the school principal and get a 3 day to 5 day suspension from school. It was worth every damn moment of it, I proved to bullies that I was the wrong kid to mess with.
Oh trust me praying for your bullies away or even praying for bills to go away does not work. Sophia should have told her teachers what is going on, and if nothing is being done, get the parents involved. Get the school administrator involved if need. Where are the ADULTS? I am a child who was bullied and wasn't even a JW. I went to adults all the time and of course I learned to NEVER trust an administrator, I just straight up went to the off duty officer on campus and he did do something. I honestly as a sp.ed had to be MEAN to my bully and rub their face I can call the police and make their lives difficult. Then again I always believed all football and sporties were bullies with NO FEELINGS or emotions, until I saw the actions of Columbine and these jocks and sporties made me the target of the police because I played video games, chose to HATE SPORTS, and read a lot of fantasy and science fiction novels, apparently in Texas that was painted as being a BAD PERSON to them. So yeah, honestly bullying on any level is bad and when JW kids did defend me, I was afraid they would preach, but none of them did because we had to watch each other's back, and many of these kids were physically in mentally out.

While I was doing that I watched this video and I started believing the message partly because of the powerful images when the people in the congreation together prayed in their bubbles and it reached Heaven...
JWs are excellent at manipulating people with strong images. Luckily they usually have really bad logic, like in this one where Sophia does not tell the teachers about the bullying beforehand etc.

Right in the uk I heard a social worker saying that when a child is bullied at school it helps the child to build residence ?! I’m a kid who is growing up as one of Jehovahs witnesses. When I was younger people used to bully me. Well this one girl did, and it was bad. I will say that the main thing that helped me not feel alone or anything was when I prayed to God. Ofc I went to my parents and the girl ended up getting in trouble and did leave me alone. In fact after a year we became friends. She’s my best friend now LOL. but the one thing I hate is when people call us a cult. Whats wrong with not doing things the way everyone else does it. Also the whole concept of disfellowship and the fact that JW just meet about every cult qualification there is in the BITE model (behaviour, information, thought and emotional control), especially evident in videos like these, makes it a cult. Any religion is a cult if it's practiced by a church/temple/mosque/synagogue that's too controlling of it's members.
