    China never make claims that Antarctica is their but Australia stated claimed that China is invading their souvenir right of Antarctica belong to them. Hey Aussie, don't try to be an American ,"All talks and no money" Australia is finally FREE from one master(Britain) now signing up for a new American MASTER. It's sad for Aussies

      Better have the USA as a master than China. At the end of the day they are anglophone countries.

    Australian here. The ASPI is a think tank funded by defence manufacturers and foreign governments, anything it says on China should be taken with a large grain of salt.

    • @realbron3255
      @realbron3255 Год назад +4

      I mean yes partly but that’s a dishonest framing. The ASPI receives ~65% of its funding combined from the Australian government and only 15% from foreign governments and a combined 12% from defence industries and the private sector

  • @jliang70

    When you quote something from ASPI that immediately tell us that you are talking rubbish. ASPI is a well-known US weapon marketing group and a group that is strong in war mongering that resulted in the sale of the US weapon. And you know about the Australian claim of 42% of Antarctica, it is rejected by large majority of those who signed the Antarctica treaty. There are only 5 nations out of around 56 that actually recognized Australian claim on Antarctica. What are you going to do when those 50 including China that is rejecting your claim?

  • @udontknowme7798

    China, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand should share on the fishing, off course in relation to the population in every of these countries!
    But When it comes to research in polar regions, then Australia cannot claim these 46% of Antarctica.
    China has just as much right to do research, anywhere at the South Pole.

      China cannot claim the territory in Antarctica because in the Antarctic treaty signed in 1950's by The USA, The Soviet Union, France , UK , Japan , Australia Norway Antarctica was divided among the countries. Australia has the lion share of the treaty with 40% of Antarctica territory. It is stated that no one can dispute the claim and can have new claims in Antarctica after the treaty. Cry about it. Australia with Antractic territory is 13.5 mln km2 larger than China (9,7).

      No it was signed in 1960 by The USA , Soviet Union, UK, France, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Japan to divide Antarctica among the countries and Australia has the largest claimed territory in the agreement. No one can dispute the claim and can have new claims about what is done.

      Australia's claim was signed by the most of countries and solidified in 1960. Australia can jump from being the 6th largest to the 2nd largest country in the world. With 13.5 mln km2 land with Antarctic claim, it is bigger than Canada (2nd place) and The USA(3rd place).
