Video to support the written pattern / chart for part 1 of Flora's Fauna. Technique used is overlay mosaic crochet. Pattern may be downloaded from my Ravelry store www.ravelry.co...
Rosina I love how you instruct the pattern you are so easy to follow Thank you for all that you put into your patterns and your teaching It is always enjoyable
I just love this mosaic pattern. I love mosaic crochet anyway. I have one I’m currently working on so I must finish it before starting on this one…in the mean time I will contemplate the colors I will be using. I’ll probably change my mind a hundred times…lol!
I always recommend you use a hook suited to the yarn and your own personal tension. Also different brands of hook can work to a different tension. If you tend to crochet quite loose you may want to use a 3.5mm hook, or if you are looser a 4.5mm may be best for you....
Dear Rosina, I just purchased this pattern and cannot wait to start! I just wanted to ask if I can combine it with your Meow pattern (that has been SUCH a loved gift to my friends❤🐱)?
Yes you can, as they both use the same 48-st rep. If you want to add a border I would probably follow Flora's Fauna to begin with (for the foundation row) and remember to replace the inner edge scs in the Meow pattern with a chain at each end of every row, so you can do my easy chain-start method for the border xxx
Thanks for and easy tourtial to follow. I just bought your pattern. 👍And watched your easy boarder so easy with the chain 1 rather than having to do the slip stitch. Thanks again for the tourtial. QUESTION WHEN THE OTHER PARTS COME OUT WILL I HAVE TO PURCHASE THEM ALSO ??????
It can be used on any OVERLAY mosaic project, as this technique essentially produces square stitches. If you wanted to use it for inset mosaic (where you turn at the end of every row, and work through both loops) the stitches are slightly squashed, so you would probably need to skip every 4th or 5th row along the sides. You just need to add 1 chain between the edge / border stitch and the design at each end, so that is 2 extra chains to begin xx

Hi, I love your work. I’m just curious as to why we chain and leave a space at the ends please? Ive not seen this in mosaic crochet before. 🌼

@@RosinaCrochets thank you so much.
Wow, thanks! Looking forward to the other parts.
Is the 3.75mm hook recommend for best results, or could a 4 or 4.5 work as well?

Flora’s Fiona is cool
Thank you xx
Can this type of border be used on any mosaic project, if so what would the extra stitch count be?

@@RosinaCrochets thank you so much for such a quick reply, Love your patterns😍
Is there any way you could add Chapters or Row numbers to the post so we could go directly to row we are working on?
Hmmm ... I'm not an expert with RUclips, so I'm not sure! I will investigate though xxx
