Sri Lanka train ride - Colombo Fort to Palugaswewa - 2nd class1

Took the train from Columbo to Palugaswewa in Feb 2014. There were no first class seats available but 2nd and even 3rd class was fine. The entire trip from the coast into the middle of the country took about 4 hours and cost 550 rupees. That's less than 5 USD for 2 people! Where else in the world can you travel so cheap and see such wonderful countryside?
