I was upset for the style changing, but after reading your comment and really listening to the lyrics, I feel so guilty for not hearing the real message. :'(
The funny part is, every single one of his albums had a sense of that. The pain he went through was poured into his songs. But people forgot that over time, and only focus on the sound, rather than the words.

Anyone that couldn't appreciate Heavy before Chester's death has most likely led a very sheltered life. When I first heard it I knew exactly what Chester was trying to say; all his pain and frustration. I've been there, I've felt that way, and still do at times, but I was never able to put any of it into words. Linkin Park have saved me by allowing me to feel a connection to other people and providing me with an emotional outlet when my mind got too heavy. I still remember listening to "Somewhere I Belong", the song that introduced me to them and realising right there and then that these guys know what I am going through. I moved around as child, changed 7 school and 3 different countries, on top of being a "half-breed" in people's eyes because my parents are from different countries. I've always felt torn between 2 different languages and nationalities. Trying to figure out where I belong plagued me as teenager and was what first brought on my depression. Now, years later, I still don't feel any closer to finding somewhere I belong, but thanks to Linkin Park's lyrics, I don't always feel as alone. Words can't express how important Heavy was to Chester. He tried to tell us but too many ignored him and now he's gone. At least he's finally in peace, I just wish he could have found it while still alive.
This made me tear up for real. Especially the transition from numb to in the end at 3:31 can't believe he's gone.

Man, it's so weird. You don't know these people, not really, I guess. But when you hear that they've died, especially before their time, it feels so sudden. And I guess that no one can ever really predict a death but still, these are the people we grew up with, listened to when we were sad, angry, lost, confused. And it's like when they go away, all of those memories are shaken.

Both LP and Lana Del Rey are my favs since a long time. Even though some people around me think their songs are pretty "dark," they've helped me to stay sane during my bad times.
