Seen tons of them out in the yards with over 400k on the registration or odometer. These pre-AFM GMs were peak full size SUV if you need to take a family somewhere reliably. 7.6 is a weak 0-60 by today's standards, but you can't have everything you want for the price they are going for.
@@billspangler2685 the 2025 Buick enclave does 0-60 in the low 7s and reviewers call it slow. In the real world totally adequate, fast even. At the time this 6.0l Escalade was the one to have if you were into rocket ship land barges.
Some things definitely improved. Other things became worse. Like how many interior functions can only be controlled via the infotainment screen, for example.
@ Absolutely untrue. Literally every single thing has improved since. You can old man yell at clouds all you want, new cars are superior to those made twenty years ago.
@ Toyotas improved? No. Aren’t they having thousands of recalls on newer models? Yes. GMs quality has took a turn over the years. Cadillac is on the bottom of reliability.
Eh its not that bad used my uncle had one he was always working on it but it did go from texas to miami without a real problem other than he needed some coolant
Yeah it can't be considered true luxury until its got a 36" infotainment screen, low profile tires and a 17 speed CVT with "sport paddles" like a truly modern luxury car.
This generation was built like a tank.
Yeah heavy and slow😂

@@billspangler2685 I think 7.6 is blazing fast for such a big vehicle, for that era. It had the high output 6 liter motor. 345 horsepower.

G-Unit generation
Long live the GMT-800! LS powered with 300K miles on the clock and they're still rolling! This was the model that forced the world to pay attention!
My favorite type of yt vids are “new” reviews of older models of trucks/suvs of the early 2000s. What an icon.
Every rich kid's mom drove one of these tanks back in the day
Despite the Escalade being just a fancy Chevy Tahoe, the GMT800 Escalade is my favorite Escalade.
I have an 05 Escalade still love it so much
That interior wouldn’t cut it in a modern day Corolla, let alone a full size luxury SUV.
Crazy how things improve.
Some things definitely improved. Other things became worse. Like how many interior functions can only be controlled via the infotainment screen, for example.
you dont get leather and wood in a new corolla still
What improved? The faulty technology? the reliability of new cars have went down significantly, and that includes the interior

$60k was something back in the day but now that’s totally nothing compared to the Escalade V ESV which is around $160k to own.
its about the same houses were 3x less back then too
my mom had one of these growing up, i remember watching shrek on the DVD Player everyday after school lol.
One owner, 2003, white (like Soprano had), 203k miles. Never getting rid of it, amazing vehicle.
the best thing to happen to cadillac since ever
Tony Soprano?
yes 😂
I drive one of these in white, feel like I'm Tony Soprano when I'm on the road.
Childhood dream car
When u see a person with a benz and a caddilac u know they like stuntin
57k base price in 2003 😅 that thing expensive asf
$97K in today’s money. And people think cars are expensive today 😂
5.3 w/ 387k mi... they're sturdy....
The all wheel drive versions had a 6.0 V8
All the ESVs of these years have the 6.0 V8's and AWD, mine has 203k and still runs great.
Is the front bumper sagging? The gap where the bumper meets front fender is bigger than Rhode Island.
Gosh 😩 I miss those days of early 2000s of motorweek
House real big...
Car Real BIG
Everything real big. I skipped a part😅
My Mothers 05, 6.0 had 460k miles before engine blowing up
ESV, THE PERFECT STATION WAGON!
I still se these on the road mostly in hispanic communities.
Eh its not that bad used my uncle had one he was always working on it but it did go from texas to miami without a real problem other than he needed some coolant
now they run well over 100K
$57k nowadays is around $99k, not much of a difference. 😅
Lmao. Just under 60k. Not any more
These were a little more than a gussied up Tahoe/Suburban with softer leather and more sound deadening. Horrible excuse for luxury vehicles.
Yes, nowadays true. This was the og and there was literally nothing before it, it's laughable now but was considered extremely pinache at the time 😂
I’ve owned both Chevy and Cadillac. While they look very similar. Cadillac rides better than Chevy.

You probably wouldn't say that about the gussied up Volkswagens known as Audis. These were just fine unless you're that much of a snoot
@@jlcii An A8 or Q7 isn't a gussied up VW. This is literally a Suburban with minimal upgrades and a different front clip.
Stop being obtuse.
Art and science and technology and bow tie mechanicals° = expensive Chevy
