The most beautiful nature wonder I ever saw in my life was back in 1975 when I was driving cab in Sacramento, CA. I got a call in the very northern part of the county. It was spring. As I was driving through the white almond orchards in full bloom--something quite spectacular in itself--a flock of yellow-billed magpies flew across the road in their curving, scalloped fashion, looking something like streamlined peacocks with their shimmering blue and green necks marked by a stark white and black plumage. It was a few seconds of my life I'll never forget. Sheer beauty.
