31:43 Mick Gordon assembles a choir of heavy metal singers for this OST. The name of this track is “Kar En Tuk” which is fictional alien for Rip and Tear.
What is so crazy cool about the doom games, is that the soundtrack is adaptive. 15:05 This part is for exploration and intermission, but at a moments notice, it can pick up to light fighting with the arrival of enemies. From there, it might pick up to heavy fighting, or even go back to exploration.
The game Mick Gordon worked on before Doom 2016 had adaptive music too, Killer Instinct (2013). That’s the game that I know Mick Gordon for and probably has my favourite tracks by him.

There was apparently some issue with Mick mixing the songs as fast as Bethesda wanted, so they got someone else to do it, but apparently that person only had the final mixes to work with or something, not the original studio tracks. That's why some of it sounds so different. Mick got like a half dozen or something done.

you're right, by the way. Mick couldn't finish properly mixing the full versions of these tracks for the release of the soundtrack, and thus they were mixed improperly by someone else. it's unfortunate, too, because of just how good the compositions and arrangements are.
@@halcyon_exbIt’s tough because there are simply timelines that need to be followed when you’re preducing for a game than when you’re simply making music for an album release.

Hi Dan, have you considered developing guitar covers for some your favourite songs you've heard over the past few weeks in these videos? I think its content people would enjoy
Yes I have. Here’s the thing: working on and editing guitar content takes a lot longer than just sitting down and doing a one shot reaction. If you look at the numbers I get for reactions vs. pure guitar content, there is no contest. At the moment I am making my “serious” music content in the form of books and teaching with the “fun” and lightly education content here on RUclips. Maybe something will change in the future
Doom is one of my first games i ever played (my very first was Dragon Quest), absolutely loved it! My dad was also a gamer so i had the chance to play some of these "cult" games :)
the reason why the guitars in ‘cultist base’ sound a little weird, is because it’s not actually a guitar, it’s the sound of a chainsaw heavily distorted and conpressed
Deag Ranak is actually just a piece of the DOOM HUNTER base ambient music. The entire ambient track that is arranged is my fave piece of music from the game. It makes the hairs on my arm stand up. If you play the game and get the context for it you will appreciate it more. The entire premise is one of the Deag is creating a supreme weapon to take out the DOOM Slayer, but you are in fact the hunter. The way the beat goes with your heart beat and pulse is mesmerizing. Yes, very ominous.

What i love about mick gordons doom musics is that they dont always sound metal some times they almost sounds like dubstep and they he uses heavy base whether its drums or strings is so clever makes your head bang
Highly recommend the Terraria soundtrack. A close second would be the Calamity mod ost for Terraria, as it is about the closest thing to an official video game soundtrack a mod team has made, and it is beautiful. But it is also long, as in, over 3 hours for the modded music. The Terraria soundtrack on the other hand... is amazing. It had a soundtrack update a year ago with its 1.4 update. But it's original and new soundtrack are up there for some of the most appreciated and respected video game soundtracks of all time. If you like 8-bit like and upbeat boss music along with some big mood setters, this is the one to listen to and appreciate.
I was in one of his livestreams and three people, including me, really wanted him to listen to the calamity mod. Then a madlad decided to donate to him leaving that suggestion. He said that he put it in the list, so I hope that he listens to the ost
I'm not sure about it being the closest thing to a soundtrack a mod team has ever made... Beyond Skyrim has at least 10 hours worth of music thus far. To be fair, only Bruma has actually released in playable form I think (sound track of 3 hours or so). Falskaar also had one (although only about 45min in its OST release form). Enderal's clocks in at 5 hours. Interesting NPC's follower/quest mod added a good collection of custom songs(with lyrics) for custom bards in game and that come out during quests. Totally fair if you prefer the Calamity music, but the TSO modding community has produced probably 100s of hours of music at this point.
You know which channel I think is super underrated? Metal Piano Music. The guy spends weeks composing classic metal songs into classical/relaxing piano pieces and he hardly gets any views. I love his arrangement of Holy Diver by Dio. That dude deserves millions of followers 🤷
You really need to listen to the original DOOM OSTs. I'm talking about the original 1993 DOOM game and DOOM II: Hell on Earth, composed by Bobby Prince. It's a different feel from the modern games, but it's very classic and the use of the instrument samples Bobby utilizes is amazing, and I'm sure you'll LOVE some of the... inspirations Bobby took for his songs. Oh, and of course, plenty of guitar stuff in there. As a bonus, you should also check out DOOM 64's Theme, the 20th anniversary version by Aubrey Hodges, and DOOM 3's Theme by Tweaker. D64's and D3's soundtracks are mostly ambience, so you don't have to check out the full OSTs, but their title themes are definitely worth listening to, so if you ever do react to the first two games' OSTs, you should listen to those at the end of it.
Idk if anyone has pointed this out yet, but the first song is actually a callback to Doom 2's "Sandy City" ost. Mick Gordon even points this out when he is interviewed on the music
I wanna recommend the music of the fictional band Pentakill made by Riot Games for their game League Of Legends. They have 3 albums right now. But I'm not sure if they're copyrighted.

The thing to remember is, this was created for a game. It has many extended parts that can be used in game to delay and shorten music scene transitions.
You should listen to the Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective OST, it has such a banger soundtrack that fits the mystery theme of the game as a whole, it's great
The music is so aggressive I'm surprised it's not arrested for aggravated assault, my ears are straight bleeding, but that's cause it can Never be loud enough. Gods, I love Argent Metal so much
little fun fact/lore: the reason the Doom Slayer went on a few eons (one eon is 1,000,000,000 years) fighting in hell and instilling such fear into the demons is because when they invaded his home world they killed the one thing he cared for his bunny named Daisy
When the environmental designer went so fing ballistic you just can't help making such a banger soundtrack for this daycare hour lenght of kar en tuk the kids to Rip and Tear!
I don't know if it was mentioned in the video i haven't watched the full thing yet but, i just wanted to give some clarification as to how the music works in game, with the exception of the menu songs I think every music starts, develops, drops, and stops according to what the player is doing in game, and the transition is almost perfectly seamless, an standardized remix of the songs had to be made for listening outside of the game which means that the songs you listen to on RUclips aren't exactly the way it's played in game given the reactive nature of the soundtrack, the soundtrack can only be enjoyed at its finest state in game

i have only listened to Thy Subhuman Self but i dont doubt that the rest of the songs are bangers as well.
poor dan he gets too many suggestions
It's a content well tho
Doom Eternal is as it says "Eternal". Thank you Mick 😀
Dud you gotta listen to the soundtrack from both dlcs for doom eternal. David Levy and Andrew Hulshult did an amazing job.
45:07 that's mixed perfectly 😊
The music is so aggressive I'm surprised it's not arrested for aggravated assault, my ears are straight bleeding, but that's cause it can Never be loud enough. Gods, I love Argent Metal so much
Best Christian music I've listened to
What a title, just *chefs kiss*
little fun fact/lore: the reason the Doom Slayer went on a few eons (one eon is 1,000,000,000 years) fighting in hell and instilling such fear into the demons is because when they invaded his home world they killed the one thing he cared for his bunny named Daisy
Ayo this part of the soundtrack is from the Dusk soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult it sounds like 1:53:50
Some guy said this in chat, but the terraira and calamity OSTs would be awesome

That whistle like sound is actually a synthesizer at work.
what do you think about make reaction of doom eternal DLCs ost?
Feel the need to note (assuming no one else has) that this version of the soundtrack seems to be the fan remaster by the_kovic
It would be cool to see your reaction to the subnautica ost, I believe it's an awesome ost and you should give it a try
(proceeds to max volume)
*RIP AND TEAR*
Im so glad that they put into sandys city final sin
I don't know if it was mentioned in the video i haven't watched the full thing yet but, i just wanted to give some clarification as to how the music works in game, with the exception of the menu songs I think every music starts, develops, drops, and stops according to what the player is doing in game, and the transition is almost perfectly seamless, an standardized remix of the songs had to be made for listening outside of the game which means that the songs you listen to on RUclips aren't exactly the way it's played in game given the reactive nature of the soundtrack, the soundtrack can only be enjoyed at its finest state in game
Loved the Turtle impression
Couldn’t watch live but I was so excited for this one!!
This is the most intense meal I've had
