I have converted the 24 bit WAV to 16 bit FLAC to preserve the original quality of the audio. I have also verified that the lower 8 bits in the 24 bit WAV are 0, so nothing is lost when converting the data from 24 bit to 16 bit without dithering.
I am glad he provided the original master to people who asked for It, because I like hearing music with all of its dynamic range whenever possible.

How did you verify that the bits are zero? Through hex editor or some other way? I figured out that I converted the original file with foobar to 16 bit without dithering and compared one file with another component bit compare tracks. And it turned out that all tracks decoded fine, no differences found.

I never installed a computer but remember back in 8th grade first day of school my teacher said " you kids are lucky your going to test these new computers state of the art new" they were black brand new Dell office computers and there Windows XP. back in 7th grade I was still using windows 2000. but Windows XP was amazing, you can customize your computer whatever you liked. said these current home computers, laptops our now taplets you can't customize anymore not like XP did back in the 2000s

10 років кожен раз коли встановлював ХР слухав цю мелодію і шукав її хто її написав, в останні роки пробував шазамом, але не виходило, і накінець 4 роки тому я її знайшов! дякую Стену за те що її створив! А сьогодні дізнався що Стена більше немає з нами.... Це сумно, але його творчість буде жити вічно!

This music first appeared in Windows Whistler Server build 2467 but unused, later appeared in Windows Whistler build 2469.

Well it was probably in XP build 2467 too, though that build hasn't leaked and isn't fully confirmed to exist.
