although he did have so many injuries, he was also just not called up by multiple coaches, he ended up saying he wasnt going to go to camp anymore because he knew he would just be holding tackle bags. such a waste of talent for england..... again
Tindle's pass from the floor was superb on try number 2. Watched many of the 2002 matches recently and there are a bunch of trys where the ball goes through many hands that were far better than most of this selection. Some sublime rugby from those world cup winners which was not reproduced in the finals. They were far better than they have been given credit for. Superb off loading skills from the whole team.
Team try: Ben Cohen’s v. Ireland. Awesome. Making your own luck because you’re special: Wilko’s chip and regain. Ash The Splash’s League style run and weave. What a sport!
Flanker Richard Hill was the best and most talented rugby player that this Welshman has ever seen grace the hallowed turf of my, once, beloved Sardis Road. Home of Pontypridd RFC
Robert, it was in searching for Hill's highlights that I stumbled across this video and your comment, the latter being most generous--and bang on! Cheers! He was phenomenal. The front five England had through the late-90s/early-2000s is undoubtedly our best, and present a strong case for the game's greatest. Happy new year!
Love this. Only downside for me (to the extent that I can't watch it) is Kronfeld's disgraceful knee in the face of David Rees well after the try and tackle. Took 2 teeth out and knocked Rees unconscious. ABs do it all the time.
David Reece, Sinbad, and Wade. All have a hand full of caps between them and all hard done by by either injury or idiotic selection. And Wade would still be in his Pomp!!
The hands of Jonny Wilkinson. So so good. I think the whole team benefited from his all round genius. There were a lot of very very good players in that era but Mr Wilkinson was head and shoulders above all of them. Except for Ben Cohen.
Cueto was involved in my two favourite moments here - the volley against Argentina, and the catch on the full against South Africa. Partly it's the crowd reaction (especially the second one) that makes it, but they're two great great bits of play.
Agreed, I think Cueto was massively underrated during his career. A lot quicker than many people realised, and had good skills too - that volley was genius. To hit it like that while running full pace, and to control the kick perfectly as well, takes some doing
When he scored in the 2003 final and punched the ball away screaming "COME ON!!" . That is the first thing I think about when I think about that final, even before the drop goal.
Cliff Sweeting The thing is, we don't mind a Aussie coach. If he carries on with England winning games and titles, Jones will go down as a legend. Especially if he wins a World Cup with England, he will be treated like a god here. He will go down in the history books, and will be loved in England forever, even if he is an Aussie ;)
Agree The first one might look more impressive to many because the move started almost behind the tryline but the move in itself was nothing very special. Whereas the collective move on Cohen's try was absolutely brillant
Not really, he's a good try scorer yes but even in his prime his defence was awful, he cant kick to save his life and if the games not going his way, he's very lazy. He's got good support play and he's fast thats it. May and Watson, beat him every time. Especially to someone like Eddie Jones
Top video!! Two suggestions -change the odd background music? -add Manu smashing it's up the middle against the all Blacks (though yeah it's a tricky decision deciding which other great try to omit!)
I love the last comment on the video, "bring on the RWC 2015" LOL, sure, bring it on , hahahahaha. Good humble pie to eat for the english the RWC 2015, was it not?
Kata Wilson bullshit from an Australians lesser known poorer and more inbred cousin, go and watch a load of white men dancing around pretending to be Maori warriors, then cheat their way through the game, whining to the ref, cheap shots against opposition scorers, cant expect the fans to have honour when the team doesn't, managed actually to win a world cup after 20 odd years trying, well done, England is world no.2 after two 6 nations in a row and a 3-0 whitewash of Australia down under, lost your last game did you cry baby?
In fact, this music is like the sounds they play at an alternative hippy healing ceremony. Or a shit Thai massage parlour. Just the weirdest choice for a rugby highlights reel
Looking back at these great tries, my only thought is that in 2021, 6/10 would have been pulled back by the fking TMO inserting himself. Let the play flow world rugby, it's the heart of rugby
Amazed you managed to find ten!(noticed you had to a long way back in time for some of them though.) I think I saw the All Blacks score this many "top ten" tries in the first three matches this year...
No tries from “that” win over the All Blacks? Can’t remember who finished it, but I remember Manu Tuilagi besting McCaw, then Carter - two legends - on the way to setting up a try
Best 6 in history no doubt.. Others have been great in one or more facets of the game, but Hilly did everything and allowed those around him freedom to express themselves..
Still one of the quickest in the game though i reckon, definitely still up there with the likes of Beauden Barret and some of the others in the ABs team
Biggest tragedy in English rugby is James Simpson-Daniel never being fully fit for an extended run in the team. So unlucky. On the flip side he would've been surrounded by mediocrity, so swing and roundabouts really.
Well done the English from NZ, you guys deserved the win and are on a roll. All the best
I love that cheeky kick from Wilkinson to himself against AB's
Quality!
James Simpson-Daniel was an awesome rugby player. Such a shame he had so many injuries to prevent him playing for England
although he did have so many injuries, he was also just not called up by multiple coaches, he ended up saying he wasnt going to go to camp anymore because he knew he would just be holding tackle bags. such a waste of talent for england..... again
Simpson Daniel doing a run around Jonah Lomu an absolute classic. David and Goliath.
He did that to Lomu twice. The other time he scored himself.
I believe the comment was Simpson went left Daniel went right and Lomu tackled the hyphen
@@soddof7972 Ha! That's brilliant.
The look on Chris Ashton's face at 6:46 is legendary, he already knows.hes going to score even though he still has a couple o people to beat
Yep... favourite thing about that try tbh. Classic stuff
646
Sometimes forget how brilliant Simpson Daniel was. Could of gone down as one of the best wingers of all time should injury not have plagues him
There are so many wingers in that category, often the best are also the most injury prone unfortunately
He had a great step
Still love the current England team, but how we miss guys like Lewsey!!
Tindle's pass from the floor was superb on try number 2. Watching this in 2017 and seeing “looking forward to RWC 2015” 🙃🙃🙃🙃
Watching in 2019 and seeing “looking forward to RWC 2015” 🙃🙃🙃🙃
Looking at this whilst watching the RWC 2019 and seeing England will fall before they have started! Meanwhile Ireland lose to japan 😶😶😂😂

always loved that david rees try. it was one of the first england tries i can remember and i would always replicate it in my living room as a child
Did you have a friend/family member to come in late to take your head off?
Team try: Ben Cohen’s v. Ireland. Awesome. Making your own luck because you’re special: Wilko’s chip and regain. Ash The Splash’s League style run and weave. What a sport!
Watching this after we lose 2019 rugby world cup final what a shame
Flanker Richard Hill was the best and most talented rugby player that this Welshman has ever seen grace the hallowed turf of my, once, beloved Sardis Road. Home of Pontypridd RFC

I really like the Ashton try from the Tuilagi break against New Zealand.
that try against Ireland is simply amazing
I got 120k views calling best team try ever
Love this. Only downside for me (to the extent that I can't watch it) is Kronfeld's disgraceful knee in the face of David Rees well after the try and tackle. Took 2 teeth out and knocked Rees unconscious. ABs do it all the time.
Did the same thing to Moody when he scored vs them in 2002. Think it was Holah or Mealamu.
Refer to my earlier comment.............
And dan carter over argentinian player in rwc
The ABs are DBs (Dirty Bastards) win at all costs. Always have been always will be.
NZ's policy used to be "if they score against us make sure they won't score again".
such a shame James Simpson Daniel was so injury prone, fantastic sleight of hand and gas...
Bill Bonnington Gloucester legend
"Sinbad"- Kingsholm Legend - He'll never have to buy a pint within the city walls as long as he lives...
amazing talent.
David Reece, Sinbad, and Wade. All have a hand full of caps between them and all hard done by by either injury or idiotic selection. And Wade would still be in his Pomp!!
@daniruls123 His acceleration was seriously fast was a great 13 too. So sad.
Great video! Although the final statement is rather misplaced with hindsight
I think the Cohen try at 2 is better than the Ashton try at 1. What a team try that was.
The hands of Jonny Wilkinson. So so good. I think the whole team benefited from his all round genius. There were a lot of very very good players in that era but Mr Wilkinson was head and shoulders above all of them. Except for Ben Cohen.
easy to forget Cohen had retired from international rugby by around age 26 with 57 caps unreal!
I can't actually think of any better. Great choices.
5:40
When those guys ran into each other, it's like something from cartoons.
Two of England's great tries involve the great Jonah Lomu not doing very much.
On balance, though, I'd say he won.
Loved watching these, but got a nasty shock at the end - “Bring on RWC 2015”.
The Reese try has to be one of the best ever from an England international.
Not seen a dummy like that by James Simpson Daniel. That was awesome!
He did exactly the same thing to Lomu another time and scored from it himself.
love England just really hope you get the RWC again in my lifetime. Hopefully another 3 and I'll die happy but 1 will suffice....
What.....no Jason "Billy whizz" Robinson tries 🤔
When he scored in the 2003 final and punched the ball away screaming "COME ON!!" . That is the first thing I think about when I think about that final, even before the drop goal.
Brilliant compilation. Can't deny it - the Poms are doing Rugby really well these days. (Might be because there's an Aussie coaching them?)
or because lancaster was shite...
no lancaster got the guys together.... jones has given them a nasty streak.... God i dislike Ashton. Real glamour puss. Cannot defend to save his arse
Cliff Sweeting you are possibly correct. Who cares as long as England beat the colonial criminals.
Andrea, I must confess to ambivalence: I cheer for Australia vs any other country but England.
No.2 is a far better try than the No.1
Oh yes indeed!!!
My favorite try of that era
Agree
The first one might look more impressive to many because the move started almost behind the tryline but the move in itself was nothing very special.
Whereas the collective move on Cohen's try was absolutely brillant
Number 2 should be number 1. Great try
I love NZ's late, cynical hit on Rees.
i love how the english are so myopic and easy to cry foul.
@@Denis.Collins you can't be serious.
Richard Hill France 2001 is a ridiculous omission! Prob Eng's best solo try ever.
Insane gas from May!!
The second I saw this video I was sure I knew which try would be top. Pleased to see I was right! Very fun video dude 🙂
Great selection of stellar moments!
i always loved David Rees' try
Expected at least one Jason Robinson try
Yeh the one against Italy when he played 12... 2006 I think.
Billy Whizz needs a video all to himself..
I would exchange 1st and 2nd.
Cohen's try is the most brillant try I've ever seen England scored
that double kick try against argentina reminds me of zidane's goal in the CL final
ABSOLUTELY CRAZY THAT BOTH LAST TWO ENGLAND COACHES NEVER USED CHRISTIAN WADE[ EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE WORLD WOULD KILL FOR HIM
Sinbad ,what a player, terrible luck with injuries
Robinson and Greenwoods try against Wales in the RWC 2003 should be high up in this list
Ashton- underused by England.
Not really, he's a good try scorer yes but even in his prime his defence was awful, he cant kick to save his life and if the games not going his way, he's very lazy. He's got good support play and he's fast thats it. May and Watson, beat him every time. Especially to someone like Eddie Jones
Will greenwood. Wales quarter final 2003
I thought the same what a run from jason robinson
100%
Top video!!
Two suggestions
-change the odd background music?
-add Manu smashing it's up the middle against the all Blacks (though yeah it's a tricky decision deciding which other great try to omit!)
Cracking tries, you might want to change the end credits :-)
J S-D loved a dummy didn't he? Even did one that left his hands!
And I think it's only Ben and Courtney who are still playing for England
Great choice of music!
Yo man can I ask you what this track is called and who it's by? Shazam can't get it through the commentary/crowd noise. Thanks
I'd like to know too please.
The Rees try was the genesis of the World Cup winning team of 2003.
I love the last comment on the video, "bring on the RWC 2015" LOL, sure, bring it on , hahahahaha. Good humble pie to eat for the english the RWC 2015, was it not?
Mr .Rodriguez 2019 has been all different so far tho
5:07 onwards.. This was the try I will always remember.
Ashton celebrating the try before he has even beaten the full back 🙄😭😅

Jason Robinson should have been here. Standing start v. France in 2002. Still the most ridiculous acceleration I've ever seen on a rugby field
Yh, call it biological launch control. Smart sprinting and winging, I can do the same.
@@mikemorris4548 I played prop. Your words mean nothing to me.
Very peculiar music choice, cracking tries though
Try v Ireland. Always my fave.
You English are so dread in a rugby match. I hate play against England, but I always follow your matchs x) from a french rugby fan
Merci mon brave!

Wade needed more caps
Lets hope we can do this again...
Fab !! Thank you
4:27 if only Simpson had got the ball out to big man Jason Robinson on the wing
Well spotted. Robbo would have been in there
That was sweet.
I really appriciate the music on this video, no blaring techno or heavy rock. Just good rugby and commentary!
It's really annoying how the different clips are so varied in volume but other than that it is a good selection of tries
Looking back at these great tries, my only thought is that in 2021, 6/10 would have been pulled back by the fking TMO inserting himself.

Clearly not playing England or Ireland back then.

This is Rugby!
TOO. MUCH. CLASS.
Jonah Lomu, absolute beast with the ball in his hands, but on occasion didn't seem that interested in defending very hard?
A certain Lomu character made to look silly a couple of times there.
Mike Tindall with hair?!?!?
And Dawson as well ...........
its 2019 now england came second in the 6 nations
it's 2020 now, England won the 6 nations
Have to go with S-D standing Lomu up after the sort of dummy the English can't throw.
Irony isn't your strong point it seems. "after the sort of dummy the English can't throw."Yet the video showing that they actually can LOL
classic late hit by Kronfeld on Rees when the try was inevitable................
doylustheboy cunts are cunts
As i said earlier.................
The simpson Daniel dummies tho
No tries from “that” win over the All Blacks? Can’t remember who finished it, but I remember Manu Tuilagi besting McCaw, then Carter - two legends - on the way to setting up a try
Ashton scored that one if you're referring to the 2012 match..
Professional era!!! Do you mean when payments were made to bank accounts rather than left in boots?
Lomu was amazing
Richard Hill was amazing
Best 6 in history no doubt.. Others have been great in one or more facets of the game, but Hilly did everything and allowed those around him freedom to express themselves..
How did I know Chris ashtons try would be number 1
Where’s Jason Robinson World Cup final...??? Great tries though
LOved the Jonny May try. However, I reckon since then he's put on a bit of muscle and lost a yard of pace.
Still one of the quickest in the game though i reckon, definitely still up there with the likes of Beauden Barret and some of the others in the ABs team
He's still rapid AF and a more polished player
He's way quicker than anything in the AB's. He'd be the second fastest person over 100m in NZ in 2018. The first is neither BB or Reiko.
Biggest tragedy in English rugby is James Simpson-Daniel never being fully fit for an extended run in the team. So unlucky. On the flip side he would've been surrounded by mediocrity, so swing and roundabouts really.
I think he would have been played at 13 for England from 2004 onwards when we were absolutely toilet.
Bring on the RWC 2015. Lol.
England!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Kata Wilson what do N Z have do with this. Why the hate? Are you saying other teams cant celebrate their own?
Go back to your cave in Gore inbred
Fantastic tries by England, thanks for posting
Song?
What's the name of the background music and who is artist?
What ever happened to David Rees?
The number 1 is the only no no no . The other 9 are all better tries
Well there we have it folks, undeniable evidence of English kick-dominated, 10-man rugby. ¿
What about Lawrence smashing his way through wales in 2000
Wilkinson chip try against kiwis fucking yes
No Chris Ashton vs All Blacks?
After this lot, why do people still insist that football is the beautiful game?
