Agreed. Lots of blood been spilled and wasted to get that planet. Im no "Creeker", but Mavelon was tough. That cape was earned through blood. Lots of it
F these losers not supporting the creekers whos efforts have been just as much as the 35 percent of the player base ignoring the major orders completley and playing bugs like they can't get over their skill issue fighting automatons
If this happen, just report them with details. Block them, and move on. Those people are simply to dumb to play with and deserve nothing but to be excluded if not banned.
For me the cape IS a beautifull gift in term of fashion, and a tribute to the game's evolution, and I can only hope there will be more stuff like that in the near & far future : we are building the lore of the game all together.

Hatred is baked into human nature
I don’t think of the cape as a way to commemorate the divers at the creek, I think of it as a way to taunt the automatons for not being strong enough to hold their ground.
I think it's both. I wear it to commemorate those who fought and fell at the creek. At the time Malevelon Creek became a topic of discussion I was a big bug fighter. After the termicide towers where deployed, I started fighting the bots since I was learning the game a bit more, now I love fighting the bots. I enjoyed operation swift disassembly, the bots where an actual challenge in comparison to the bots, learning you could shoot the rockets off the rocket devastators, figuring out you can shoot the arms off the hulks, and remembering to target the scouts first. It was an experience I'll never forget, I'll miss fighting those clankers.
so, what about now?
I wear the cape cause i fought in the creek AND i’m supporting my fellow Helldivers who were at my side

Maybe the devs should just add a system stops players from joining games of serial kickers and teamkillers only join missions with other teamkillers...
We need some sort of karma system or at least some forgive/penalize functionality that puts you in a low-priority queue when you gathered enough TKs that the killed player flagged as intentional.
@@EllroyMcBong Funny thing, they actually had that in Helldivers 1. They called it standing, if you had bad standing you could only play with players who also had bad standing. Good standing just meant you were an example to other helldivers.
Gonna be fun trolling people by actively walking in their way to get them into the teamkiller box And if they kick thats a step towards the kick box.
Really tho lets not give people an easy way to harm players more.
so the toxicity can snowball harder? hell no. besides, who's is to stop other players from intentionally putting themselves in harms way, using such a algorithm aginst those falsely accused or a slip up on a single/string of tantrums?
i just played rainbow six and found a cool way, if they teamkill you, you get a choice on wether it was intentional or not. maybe it could work as well here?
not perfect, but better than nothing
I'll give some context to the hate situation. First it has nothing to do with the bug front. There was major morder to take Tibid, majority of bot front was working on Ubanea and then Drapunir was attacked, it was a race against time to take Ubanea before Drapunir fall. Some players were angry at the creek because they didnt help taking Ubanea which was at about 95% before Drapunir fell and cut it off because how supplie line work. The hate was projected at the creekers because they do know how to fight bots and they didnt show up. But overall all the drama is overblown as all things are on reddit and discord and another major thing is the game doesnt tell you anything about supplie lines.
That last sentence is the important part. Along with the fact that 99% of the playerbase didn't know anything about Joel deciding to backdoor the war effort until everybody got kicked off the planet due to no supply lines. Cheeky dick could've at least put out a dispatch "Bots used new teleportation tech to skip to this planet, repel the attack before the war efforts are wasted"
And whats the point of being a creek freak if your not chillin to a vietnam playlist on the creek. Its fun to roleplay in this game, It was FUN, thats why its fine.
That's why I always push the majority order
The irony that was the failure of the Ubenea Gambit is that there are TWO supply lines to Draupnir. The first is between Draupnir and Ubenea. The latter of which was under bot control allowing the defense campaign on Draupnir to take place.
The other supply line was between Draupnir and.... MALEVELON CREEK.
Taking Ubenea would not have stopped the fall of Draupnir since the route between Draupnir and Malevelon Creek was open. Proponents of the Gambit wanted to avoid doing a Defense campaign at all costs and thought if they took Ubenea fast enough, they could create an island to launch to Tibit from and take Draupnir back later. Evidence to support this is shaky at best.
Defense campaigns can strike on worlds connected to contested worlds at any time. Even if a planet is at 95% Liberation, it can still throw off an invasion fleet to any 100% liberated planets to cause a Defense Campaign. It cannot however skip over worlds to hit planets further in.
People just mad that the Creekers got an honor cape.
I hope that we will have similar stories in the future for all kinds of planets and war campaigns.
The real absurdity is that the creekers stabilized the front by continously fighting on MC and thus made the victories on other planets possible. But I guess you don't need to bring up logic and facts when some people just prefer hating other people.
nah creekers could have helped a lot during the tibit order, we lost that one because of them
You could apply that logic to the mass amount of divers on the terminid front, too. There are more divers fighting terminids than there are bots because "waahhh bots too hard cuz they shoot back", but creeker haters get awful quiet and defensive when that gets brought up.
@@zow8238 If there's just as many determined Divers fighting them bugs, why aren't the bugs wiped out yet? Personally, I don't care about the lore. I just want gun to go pew pew and boom boom. Fight whoever, where ever, with whatever. Hell, if you want to take D's oatmeal and sling it at those damn bots, you do you.
Also, the bots aren't harder because they shoot back, they're harder because they're literally harder. All them damn bots got armor of some level, and that armor don't break. Not exactly an enjoyable experience. If the bots had armor that could be shot off like the bugs carapaces, showing the gun you're shooting has impact, it'd be more enjoyable and it'd be good for teaching. Right now, the bugs have armor that breaks off when you shoot them, which teaches the player "If I keep shooting, the enemy gets softer and takes more damage". Bots don't have that teaching tool. Shoot all you want, the enemy isn't going to get any softer. Don't even need to affect gameplay like the carapaces. Just make it so lots of sparks fly off the bot when it's shot will show the player the impact they need to find it enjoyable.

No way people are getting angry for people who dedicated there time holding the creek. Remember one time over 200k were on the bug front who couldn't even liberate the umulat sector. It taken them 3 weeks to liberate before Veld had an outbreak and then umulat was all under bug control(again) and they had to get carried by the termicide major order(taken us 3 days during the order). Even now on the bug front we taken over Mirin and Draco sectors for a small amount of time before the bot execution, and now they're struggling the same as we did back on the bot front and the creek.
Deny it all you want. Its happening. Not a lot compared to the full player base, but enough to call for concern. I experienced it as a newer player, and I also saw other new players deal with it as well. People are assholes.
I dont understand whats to get upset about a free in game item
it's the world of entitlement that we live in today. personally i don't think it was a good idea to tell an entire generation that they are all individually special and can do anything they put their mind to. we should've taught them something along the lines of "divided we fall, united we stand strong" instead.
@@noerazz7515 No civilization has ever taught any generation that, only temporarily during key moments in history like the American/french revolution and other major events. Unless they are forced to think less of themselves and more like a cog in the machine like China.
The people upset about the cape blame the Creek Crawlers for EVERY single failed major order, every last one.
@@noerazz7515 You can thank the pride freaks for dividing us all!
I’m in a bit of both camps, yes the divers on the Creek caused us to lose the swift disassembly major order by attacking a strategically insignificant planet at the time of the order. That was not useful to the cause at the time.
But, that dedication is likely what lead to the next major order of taking the Creek. Devs saw how many people were sticking to it and just decided to give it to us. Specifically so the players DON’T have to be divided anymore and have reason to split up.
Creekers didn't cause us to lose. Joel caused us to lose by slipping bots behind our lines and cutting off our supply chain, didn't put out a dispatch or anything. Just took a planet without anybody noticing. Also didn't help that it was a bot based MO during the middle of the week. We had fewer divers, half the playerbase hates fighting bots, and Joel decided to shove 1 deep in our asses without any warning. Creekers are the smallest problem by far.
still not a good reason for the toxicity
@@lordshard3018 Wait, what? In case you're talking about Draupnir being lost, thereby losing access to Ubanea at 95% liberation, that planet had a whole defensive campaign to hold it, it didn't just switch sides.

@@HungryLoki Eyup. People might be trying to use the creekers as scapegoats, but the reality is that all the bug-hunters just blatantly ignored it to try and do their own thing.
This cape is a physical memory of all the fallen brothers I fought with at the Creek, and to rally fellow creekers in the ongoing Operation "Swift Disassembly" .
I just don’t like when I’m level 25 trying to get samples and I finish the main objective and still have 20 min and 15 Reinforcement left and I start collecting samples only to have a level 70 call in early extraction when I’m the host then that’s when I start kicking and unfortunately I need to kick bystanders to cancel the extraction it’s frustrating because I ask before hand not to extract and some ppl don’t hear me
Btw I’m wearing the cape come and get it terminid traitors a true helldiver fights on all fronts
You can call in the extract and not use it. You'll see most grouped up people do it so you can just leave when you're done, you can leave the pelican waiting while you finish the rest of objectives.
@@weschalmers3242 Problem. They rarely actually wait, and you get left behind. A lot of players are simply in too large of a hurry to care about all objectives and sample gathering. I'll get stuck covering my ally as they are being chased down. Do they get to an advantageous position to help wipe out the enemy cluster that's now on me? Nah they leave me and run to objective. Then blame me for falling behind as if I hadn't just saved their asses moments ago, and I know they saw me doing it. Tempted to start letting allies die to large patrols.
If they are a high level, they probably won’t jump in the ship immediately. Every time I’ve played with people of similar level or higher they wait, and then the lower levels often follow the veterans.
But if you leave early with no pressure, open objectives and leave others behind, you’re an asshole.
I had sort of a similar Scenario, one Helldiver lost his previous samples and wanted to get them, I provided Escort since there were a lot of Automatons, but when he got the samples I saw the Countdown of the extraction, we didn't make it back in time, they were a few rare samples but still a waste.
I joined too late to defend the creek but I was there to take it back with my brothers and sister in arms and I am proud to have served with them!
I started on the creek as a cadet. I left after about 4 days of fighting to help with the war on the eastern front. I went back to the western front when I was told to. A good soldier does what they are told. I don't have any animosity towards those who dedicated them self's to a certain planet. I am annoyed that we don't focus on a single planet at a time like we should though.

Here here!
The majority of deaths that were on Malevalon were newer recruits, and after they died command reallocated most reinforcements to other worlds, leaving Malevalon with usually at most 14,000 divers. Fellow divers need to understand that no matter what front, what planet, or what missions divers do they’re still contributing to the war effort, killing fellow helldivers is not only a hindrance to the war effort but a shameful thing to do. One other thing that divers need to get through their thick helmets is to set your match to private if you don’t want randoms, when you leave a mission open to anyone and they join, kicking them wastes the time they can spend in the field.

@@zoltanmeszaros4684 I probably won't get it due to not having any internet access beyond cell phone for a while...but I already have my favorite cape
Some ppl need to feel morally superior for no particular reason
It's complicated. It is true that having so many players fighting on the Creek for so long probably hurt the war effort as a whole... they weren't really making much progress beyond just holding the line. Then again the same could be said for ALL the bot worlds. When the major orders came in to liberate them, look how quickly progress was actually made, to the point that the bots are likely to be extinct by Monday. And just killing players for wearing a cape is bad form
you were saying about them being extinct?
The devs did this to cause division in the ranks of the Helldivers. Other planets were fought for just as hard as Malevolent Creek, it's just the Creek is the most famous of them. In lore, I bet some Helldivers would feel that their efforts and sacrifices are being overlooked or underappreciated by this. It's a bit short-sighted only celebrating the efforts for one planet and not the whole war itself but I'm not going as far as kicking or teamkilling someone for wearing a cape.
So because a division was passionate and got rewarded for their passion, you believe the devs are doing something to create division? This is what entitlement looks like, but you know what? Who cares. At the very least you're keeping it to yourself and not taking it out on players. For that I give my respect. People can have toxic opinions all they want if they aren't expressing them in a toxic manner.
I feel like I lost a braincell trying to understand this brainrot take
It's not necessarily that other planets weren't as hard fought for, it's that Malevelon Creek was literally held/fought for the longest out of every planet, so far at least. Everything else came and went, but it's the one planet that's had people fighting for nearly two months, give or take.
Besides, they had to pick SOMETHING to celebrate, so why not have it be about the most popular bot planet? Would you be saying the same if it was about some bug planet?
Super Earth's Internal Affairs will be investigating these incidents
I got the cape but im curious do you need to have fought on the creek at any time or while the order for it was up? Or does everyone get it?

I’ve been taken out dozens of times by complete accident but I’ve rarely been taken out on purpose, hell, I can count the number of times I’ve been taken out on purpose on one hand.
@@Azorees-oj5zr There are ways to identify malicious targeting. Games can tell if you intentionally emptied a clip in someone based on how many bullets per second you pumped into their body. Or if you aimed for their head with scope active. Don't dismiss the idea entirely. It is very much possible. Just something the devs have to be extremely careful about.

This is why I host my own games. I'm chill, and I accept all levels. Are you a fresh recruit and somehow managed to unlock Helldive difficulty? Well, let's see how it plays out and have fun!
I didn't even realise people were actually mad at people for wanting to take the creek back. Regardless, that shouldn't be a valid reason to kick/teamkill people. That's just petty.
This is why i only host games. Had a game the other day where the host kicked everyone as the pelican was landing at the end of a 40 min mission
I put in too much time fighting Automatons on various planets to be kicked or tk’d for a cape. It looks great and I apply it as a general bot killing cape anyways. I also think people getting mad that the Creek gets rep with a cape is absolutely ironic and funny.
i can agree the kicking is rampant in tbe game i stopped joining random idiots games because i got so tired of being kicked there's nothing more infuriating than waiting for someone to start the mission only for that dipstick to kick you out
That's interesting, I've been playing a lot during the last few weeks and I can count the times I have been kicked on two hands.
Most of them were immediate kicks, where people obviously didn't want to play public but where to dumb to actually set their lobby up that way.
Some of them were sensitive little flowers getting pissed off at running headlong into an incoming air strike.
And only once did a host kick everyone just before extraction, just to be a dick.
All in all my experience has been rather positive, and I pretty much exclusively play with randoms.
The reality is that players are tiered.
Terminds are just running around a lot.
Automatons require taking cover, setting up ambushes, cooperation.
Automatons are harder, it's like changing the difficulty setting. I ran into a similar thing in Left4Dead. Many people only played on normal and below difficulty, and they were in a completely different universe than those who played on advanced and expert.
The irony is anyone on the automaton front knows we have to fight twice as hard because even if there is an order people just go fight the bugs because woo wee starship troopers, there are many that refuse to fight automatons because they cant handle being shot at, every creeker I know might as well be a spec ops solo unit that can go off and do half the objectives alone.
The creek was a strategic planet. But some creekers took it to extremes, other planets needed more defense. I was on the creek, i understood the desperation to take planet, but i did the major order as a priority.
The whole fuss about the cape is stupid, its a sick cape and hard fought.
I’ve only deployed in the creek a few times but I do tend to fight the bugs more but other then that I’ll still wear the cape to remember the brave divers of the creek who died for super earth
Honestly i was wearing it not having a clue about all this. Didnt even realize it popped in my cape inventory😅.

Never experienced this or even heard of it until this video.
Alright now I gotta start wearing the cape
i was a creek crawler the cape is staying
Since I wasn’t wearing the cape and got kicked, I'm going to assume that's not why I randomly get kicked without a single word being said on their part, nor me even being near them when it happens.
Played on the creek for a few games, first drop in and we immediately get into a gunfight and lose 3 reinforcements before we even get a 100 feet from our drop pods😂
Can confirm. Proud cape-wearer here. Yesterday I dropped into a 3-man, we cleared and were waiting for the Pelican. Had gone super-smoothly. Then they kicked me, having waited until the last second to waste as much of your time as possible. A few games later, I drop with a group of randos again. Right after dropping, we call in our weapons, one of them walks over and shoots me, and then they kick me.
As a person who did not like Creeckes ignoring major orders hating the cape is dumb because it is to remember the fall of Malevelon plus drip is drip
I was on that damn creek in February with little to no supplies and absolutely no intelligence. Come and take it Arrow Head.
Can someone remind people that it's a video game and people are allowed to enjoy it how they like.
I can’t tell if this is a bit or not I’ve been sporting the creek cape since we got it since it just looks so good with the champion of the people armour, never once have I been kicked or team killed as a result
That has got to be the most pathetic thing I have heard.
This is gonna start a type of rebellion of sorts in helldivers 2
I am a proud diver of the creek and that cape has a lot of blood behind it
Hah, I knew the voice sounded familiar! Good ol Dexter.
As a new cadet, lvl 30 now, I wasn't enlisted when the Creek fell. I also prefer playing Starship Troopers rather than Star Wars the Clone Wars. But man, that is one sick cape, and teamkillers and kickers are showing undemocratic and treasonous behaviour. We all fight for Super Earth!
im wearing it because of it both fitting with my bot killer outfit, it looking really nice, and it being automaton related (perfect for current order)
Rip to the fallen soldiers of Creek. They died holding off the automatons making sure Super Earth didn't lose the planet, while all the other major orders could get handled.
Just another reason to wear the cape then. And here I was just wearing it because I think it goes good with the dreadnought armor
Soon as I find the perfect cape for my outfit, it's hated,perfect....
people forgot that this is a game and people can play and wear what they want
I wear the cape because it goes great with my main armor set. I was wondering why I was getting kicked so often
I joined up because of the Creek. I served through the entire Operation Swift Disassembly, including retaking the Creek. The Creekers played a key role in holding the automaton line, and their sacrifice has led to the bots finally being crushed today. I will wear my cape proudly for the rest of my service as a Helldiver
I became a helldiver because I heard the Creek fell. I wear this cape to honor those who laid down their lives to take it back. We have it now, they will NOT be forgotten.
Ive been doing nothing but fight bots in these latest orders, but wasn't brave enough to face the creek. Those guys who were waiting for that next chance to fight it with teeth bared earned that cape.
As someone who initially wasn’t too fond of the bots but grew to love the absolute chaos I have nothing but respect for the Creekers. If you are kicking to tk’ing players for wearing the cape then that is truly maidenless behaviour.
Quick fix is to got to recent players and block all those miserable fools.
The creek was a fun fight and I wear my cape with honor
I fought on the Creek, I know firsthand how much of a pain in the ahrse that place was. I learned a lot back there. I wear that cape with pride.
I fought that planet with pride, I will wear that cape with pride, and no one can stop me.
I got the game after I was hearing about the fall of the creek and choose to deliver democracy, I immediately went to fight the Automatons and joined in the liberation of the creek, and since then I only been fighting Automatons and haven't touched the bugs yet, the automatons must be pushed back.
LOVED the nem planet :D Tons of action. And love a free cape on top of that :)
I was there, knee deep in blood and bolts…. The order came and I answered the call. It is an honor to wear the cape and remember those who gave it all in the name of Super Earth
my deaths i remember... every single fucking one of them.
I was so confused when I got kicked over and over again.. this is just ridiculous. Worst one was when the players kept team killing me on purpose, so I thought they were just assholes and wanted to leave after the match, but I got killed again and kicked out right before extraction
Last time I joined a lobby like 3 people kept killing me for that cape but know I know more reasons why, they kept saying that I did not deserve it too. (I was fighting Terminids at the time) But I did serve on the creek so wth man!? Sometimes getting too into lore is bad. Let us honor our fallen! Now go spill oil!
You're looking for logic where none exists.
There is no way to tell whether someone spent their entire career fighting on the creek, or never set foot on it, so they're just assuming what their limited brain functions allow.
@@HungryLoki yeah, good point, thanks! Btw love your name.
I just want the slugger restored to it's former glory
I will wear my cape neverless, I fought to take back the creek, and I will not let those fallen be forgotten. I will carry them along my battles, and I will forever protect the creek as a fortress world should she call us back.
Man c’mon, they did their job and we should appreciate that. I also have the cape, but wish I didn’t have it since it don’t think I deserve it. Did like the tree mission in the Creek and got out of there. I couldn’t handle it, but that doesn’t mean I should be salty about the people that have the cape. I salute to the Creekers.
If there’s a Major Order to fight the clankas, the Divers still fighting the bugs shouldn’t be mad at us for being good soldiers.
They should hate themselves for not following orders.
I was not there, but I respect those who fight
Ive been fighting the automstons for so long.... Ive forgotten how to fight the bugs.....
Personally I only play bots, I dont find the bugs enjoyable they are to easy even on the highest difficulty, no challenge what so ever.
True
They honestly are kinda crazy when there's hordes of stalkers, shriekers, and hunters, though either way they definitely have a simpler "bring horde clearing gear" feel to them, whereas bots are far more tactical/precise.
I find them a bit of both, but swarms are easier to deal with, and calling in evac without getting flooded with a swarm was surreal.
But I did spec into ranged so it’s hard to deal with bugs that way.
I mean, how many ignored major orders to combat at the Creek? Doubt it was so much that it "delayed" the war effort. Those divers should stuff it and go back to trivial-level bug missions.
I earned my cape and Im gonna wear it.
i was wondering where that cape come from and why I got kick right before extraction……😮 so much drama😢
"Your honor, if I may, your ass wasn't there!"
this is hallarious. truely.
tbh i think the malevelon creek bit was stupid because it legitimately lost us a fucking order during swift disassembly, but what's the point of kicking people? it doesn't accomplish anything anymore.
