Something VERY fishy here, there are several berths in Holyhead, at least one is quite a distance from the apparently damaged one. I cannot put my finger on it but we are being played.
Terminal 3 & 5 are the main ones used now i belive, these are where the damage was done. Terminal 1 is where the Stena HSS would dock if i remember right and terminal 2 i never seen used. Iv no idea where Terminal 4 is.

@johnpurcell7525 they have not got the infrastructure to add many more sailings. Birkenhead is already used for freight. The roads around Holyhead just about cope. Whenever the dock is repaired, there will be backlog chaos.

because a direct ferry all the way from Rotterdam is still longer than a ferry from Calais to Dover, drive from Dover to Holyhead and ferry from Holyhead to Dublin
Ireland should demand compensation from the Brits and pass this on to those directly affected. The Brits might just pull their finger out and deal with their mess if compensation was charged with daily interest. Not good enough. The Irish government needs to step up and act over this British apathetic attitude.

ferry from Dublin to Fishguard should be permanent
Forget about the Irish. What about all those International protection Applicants trying to get home for Christmas?
Surely any political intervention would come from the Welsh Parliament. What has it to do with Westminster?
Not everything is devolved.
They're talking about allowing lorry drivers to go to a Scottish port. Nothing to do with the Welsh Assembly.
Pat Kenny said "work harder"........

Surely a sailing could be organised from Dublin to another west coast GB port..
What problem with Pembroke or Fishguard

Don't worry folks we will still be able to get all the illegal immigrants into Ireland for Christmas.
An illegal immigrant is for life, not just for Christmas

Why not just go from Liverpool port instead?
Seriously Ryanair would pluck aircraft from the sky(excuse the pun) in order to make money over people's struggle to get home for Christmas.
Paid ONLY for illegals sadly

Why don't you just get freight direct from Europe? We don't make anything in Britain. It's all coming from Rotterdam anyway. Cut out the middlemen.
