Great review, my plan on using this is around camp in the winter time. Sometimes I just want to sit and veg, and I find that I have to bundle up in too many layers. This is going to just be tossed around me for those times when I smoke my pipe and get all philosophical. I'm not looking for this alone to keep me warm but as an outer layer. Also when cooking and such in the vestibule of the tent it is nice that it has the snaps to free up my arms. Going camping in a few weeks upstate NY and plan on putting this theory to the test. Thanks for the unbiased review, you just earned my trust and I subscribed!
Seems like this would make a great addition to a sleeping bag if you can manage the weight and space. Maybe for car camping or short hike sites. I'd probably keep it in the car for those random fun things that pop up. Fires with friends, day trips, festivals or lawn seating concerts. Actually just bought a Kelty Bestie for a similar purpose (but also some late summer early fall hammocking). Not as big or as fluffy as the Get Out Gear blanket though but a bit less expensive. I'll keep this one in mind if the warmth of my blanket doesn't cut it.
I have the synthetic version of the puffy and I love it! In fact, after receiving the 7th woobie of a brand I liked but this time looked like someone forgot the filling and left it in tho oven for a too long time it is thin, feels unconfortable, makes crackling sounds and does not seem to insulate..., I have intention of buying another puffy... I also have the mini Rumples (2), but I think I like the Puffy best.
Hey Andy! Great video! I will say I do love my puffy blanket, but mine is 800 fill. I use it to supplement my elephants foot sleeping bag and puffy jacket for colder weather (low 40s) One thing you have to be careful of is using it around the fire. Embers will burn right thru it. As for other uses, I have used mine at the drive in, and have used it as a pillow when it’s too warm to sleep under. Over all, I do think it’s a nice piece of gear and one I’m happy to have when I need it. 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well. #giveashit -Grateful ❤️💙🌹💀🌹💙❤️
I use this exact blanket (together with a liner) for temps into the low/mid-50’s and find it keeps me comfortable. So in Texas, this is almost a 3-season sleep system for me. My biggest complaint is it’s just a little on the short side.
Great review Andy! I have this exact blanket that I use for my summer/early fall hammock camping trips in conjunction with a lightweight underquilt. It really works well, but the mid 40’s upper 50’s is its limit. Your assessment of lack a features is valid, but for someone looking to leave a sleeping bag at home during those warmer months I gotta give it a thumbs up. Thanks for the review.
I agree. It would make a good warm weather blanket for a Hammock, probably better than for a tent camper. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts! Much appreciated.
Absolutely. I think that with a liner or to add to your sleep system to improve the temperature ratings, this would be perfect. I will try this out with my liner to see how low it can go. I also think it would be great as a warmer weather Hammock top quilt.

Van life, car camping and on top of a wool blanket = excellent! But no wind or rain...
Thanks for your help finding a functional sleep system
Very good review. I've watched like 10 different one your is the best, thanks
Hey, thanks. I appreciate the kind words.
I'll try and keep it up. 👍

I think that is about the best use for this blanket!

Hey Andy,
Great Review!
I think it would work great in the Van too.
I completely agree! We keep one in the car all the time now.

Having a long and/or wide option would make a lot of sense!
And as part of a sleeo system, it can shine!

Enjoyed the video Very through.
Awesome, thanks for watching!
Nice review.
Thanks John. I hope you are doing well!
First comment! 😊 Would it be good for extra warmth over a sleeping bag or quilt if needed?
Winner, winner!
@@AndyParrishOutdoors I added to my comment. 🙂
