@@proanatomy I am here because I got an owie...
'Bashed up tibia and fibula lower third well away from the ankle... I am one month out... No surgery, just well designed splint that the ortopedist think looks real good... I think the cast could be stifer. I am guessing but I think it seems like having baby bone in between the rocks that used to be grinding together [ouch] but not a lot of pain anymore. I still have some craking, like cracking your knuckes, in the tibia in two fracture sites...
I have a small frame with relatively large guage bones....

Well if you still have pain and inflammation it's always suggested to take another X-RAY and assessment to look for the healing .

@@proanatomy Thank you very much for the resonse.
I made the above comment about a month ago.... I got a 4-5 cm crush zone distal third well away form the ankle...
It feels much better. I think the geomatry of the tibia is good so I won't have any problems....... I am trying to get an appointmet with the Ortho doctor earlier than a week.... I am thinking about scrapping the cast by myself... Needelss to say there is some pain because of the entropy [I don't know if that is the word you use] of muscles and stuff in the area... Pehaps the bone is bumpy...

      Greetings,
The exact term would be atrophy of muscles , which is an after effect of keeping the leg in a cast for a considerable period of time. But it can be resolved with proper physiotherapy and dietary supplements.
Fracture of tibia must be taken care of under a correct supervision of an ortho. Because there area chances for an infection as this bone is a common site for osteomyelitis.
Hence please don't manipulate the cast yourself or do something bad for your leg. Be patient and make sure to consult an ortho before doing it.

Hello sir, i had an small accident and 5th metacarpal was fractured, and it's just in position, doctor said, no need for k-wire , just split is enough for 6weeks. 2weeks back split is removed, now 2months completed, but fracture line still visible, how long it will take to go off crack line on x-ray, and I'm afraid of do physiotherapy, because when I'm doing physiotherapy some pain on fracture site. Give me some suggestions, please, thanks in advance....
