So here's a crazy story. One freezing cold winter i was living in the middle of nowhere and I turned on my heater and instantly heard small thumps. And a couple of days later a horrible smell started coming from the vents. Well i remembered a story an uncle told me when i was young about something similar happened to him, so i said no way it could be the same issue. I pulled the blower motor off and sure enough a field mouse had gotten in there and died probably when I had it turned on full blast.. threw it out, lysol the crap out of the blower, pop it back in, and all was good.
this helped me soo so so much!!!! now i don't have to pay $3-500 to get it fixed hopefully $150 at most! this video was everything i cant thank you enough
Mine does the same thing! I’m trying to figure out if I should replace the resistor or the motor or both. 😅 it also does rattle on the higher setting when it does decide to come on.
Mine doesn’t rattle, but it does rumble (most noticeable at full speed). This is actually the second car we’ve had with a rumbling motor, although the first one (1998 Chevy Lumina) we never got fixed because it wasn’t worth it. This one’s over 20 years old (2001 Acura TL), but it still runs quite well, and fixing the HVAC is something I would say is worth it. I’d assume the motor itself is worn out, as cleaning it out didn’t help.
I’m still stuck between the motor or resistor … early in the morning sometimes there a slight blow of cold air when it’s on high.. but majority of the time it won’t blow anything but I can here it trying to come on. Do I just need to replace both ??
Can the blower motor affect the voltage of the car and the engine? At times my car will shut off or start itself which I know can be a symptom of the ignition switch. But also the voltage of the car goes up and down drastically when the blower motors turned on whether it's currently running or not. It's an old blower motor and sometimes doesn't like to work. I guess my question would be is it possible for it to affect other parts of the car?
Hey can u help I have an 2008 Toyota corolla AC blower works fine on all speeds but AC works cold on fan speeds 1-3, 4-6 doesn't blow cold any help would be nice
Hey, my Peugeot 208 gt line A/C makes a thudding/knocking noise when turned on. I hit a fox not long ago causing the ac to stop working. Would this require a new blower motor/do you have other suggestions?
I own a 07 E-450 cab and chassis dually and the blower motor works for a while then it'll stop blowing air and turn on again, then turns off again after a few minutes and turns back on after a few minutes... Could this be the blower motor resistor or the blower motor itself or both....?????
My goes dtron and then weak air flow, if i drive thru a pothole it starts back up again same if i tap it starts right up, do i need to replace it or could it be a fuse?
@rs-vp7re yeah I did. I actually ended up.needing to replace the blower motor. Got It for $70 at Advanced Auto Parts. It has a lifetime warranty. I've already had to replace It once under warranty. Takes maybe like 5 minutes to replace or less.

How do you know if its the Blower Motor or Climate Control Module? In this case my fan only works on high or number 5, the other 4 positions dont work at all..
There is a screw underneath the blower motor that I unscrewed. I put a little bit of olive oil in the hole(any oil will work) and I hear the noise way less than it was before. If the noise comes back then I’ll replace it.
Mine did none of the mentioned and just stopped working. No noise or indication of going out but just stopped. Any guesses what happened? I'll let you know if you are right or wrong, for those with a similar situation.
I have a Mazda 6 2018, and the issue is that the air flow is weak, especially at lower speeds. I can barely feel any hot/cold air coming out. The cabin air filter is new. The blower motor makes no noise, it seems is working fine, as well as the blower motor resistor because it lets me change the speeds . However, I also noticed that the driver’s side vents the air flow is weaker. What could the problem be? Could it be that the AC pressure is low?
When I turn on fresh air I smell a little burn, I wonder if it's the blower motor. My 2018 mazda cx5 engine temperature is close to the middle 210F when in operation. I didn't pay attention before, is this a normal temperature? thanks.

@@highwayheroes1454 could be, maybe fuse is blown
@@KuriVaiM I checked the ac fuse. I had someone look at it briefly and he said the test light lit up so there is power going to the blower.
My motor will run nicely for a few minutes and then gradually die down to a hamster wheel. I'll turn it off for a bit and then it'll work for a bit. The cycle continues. Is this the motor or the resistor?
Blower motor, most of the time if it's the resistor it'll stop working all together.
This just happened to my 22 civic idk why this happened I take very good care of my car interior and exterior lol it only has 13,000 miles I just stopped using the AC completely don’t want to further damage it taking it to the dealer
@@bobbyz23 Good to know as I have a 2018 Toyota SUV, and it works great and then slows down almost to a stop. In Asia we run AC in cars almost all the time. I've replaced a blow motor 3 times in an old Toyota Carina....1973. I think it was easier then, as it was located by the middle counsel. Thx
IF BLOWER MOTOR GOES, THEY SAY SAY RESISTOR WILL FOLLOW CLOSE BEHIND. I HAVE BOTH PARTS ALREADY, WAS GOING TO RETURN the RESISTOR. REPLACED ONLY BLOWER MOTOR FOR NOW, NOT A BIG JOB. YOUR THOUGHTS ON KEEPING or RETURNING RESISTOR , ANYONE. THANKS
Mine almost caught on fire 😂
mine just stays onn at all times😂😂handa civic 2013
Hit your blower just tap tap tap you’re welcome I’ve been driving in heat for no reason🤦🏼♂️
Mine worked, i put it back on now it doesnt
How much is a blower motor? For a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva?
What about vibrations?
My 2013 ram has vibrations when AC on and a humming sound AND it smells like coolant
Same issue in my Chevy Cruze. Would love to know if this is the cause!
What exactly is vibrating?
If it's your blower motor you need to get down there and tighten up the bolts
@@TeamWinnieRacingmy friend I hate to tell you this but you have a coolant leak in your heater core or the hose just outside your heater core my buddy had the exact same problem and same vehicle
Mines sounds like it’s screeching
The issue I’m having with my Kia is that the ac randomly turns off and I have to touch or push the cables a little bit for it to turn back on . Today it completely went out and it won’t even turn on even if I touch the cables .
My sounded like it was dying
If u want ur blower motor to last a bit longer just kick it and it’ll turn back on mine would turn on so I replaced the fuse thinking it was blown but no so I kicked it lightly and it came back on. Dont know how long it’ll last but 🤷♂️ it’s not my daily so idc
Me too 😂
Good tips😂😂
