3:06 I think the earlier case of "bumo bumo" etc. was a case of Mega Man _royally screwing up_ the Yellow Devil language, either by talking nonsense that _sounded_ like the language (e.g. like talking to someone with "babble babble babble", which, let's face it, _would_ be insulting), or by making an earnest effort that was nowhere _close_ to right, and therefore the Yellow Devil _thought_ that Mega Man was doing the "babble babble babble" thing. 6:48 Nice touch updating the "level by" information when you talked to ACESpark's avatar. This level was one of the seven Judge Application Levels (those curious can still download the level pack; the link can be found in the wiki article for "Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 Judge Application Levels"). Five of the levels were created by Mick and ACE with deliberate flaws included in the designs, in order to test how the potential judges would react to them. A sixth was a genuine effort by Loyana, and ACE also threw in his third-place entry from the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level contest as a control. Space Crusade is not the last Judge Application Level we will see featured in MaGMML 3. 17:00 Tako Trash has a number of stories to tell, many (or even most) of which relate to events in previous MaGMMLs. However, you don't have access to all the stories right now; if you ask to hear a new story, Tako Trash may let you know you're not ready to hear it yet. 19:40 Wanna say the sprite set was done by Karakato, but I may be wrong about that. 22:25 I know you were a bit distracted by the ready text, but you may notice that, as Roahm, you didn't teleport in, but dropped in as if coming in to land from a flight.
3:06 I'm pretty sure that even if you said "Bumo" to him, he'd just get confused, since he's never been depicted to say it in any version of MM3. But I guess the first Yellow Devil offense has scarred Roahm for life?
Your idea of taking a break from MAGMML3 is a pretty good one. Especially with how intense some the later stages can get, taking your time is a really good idea. Also ,congrats on unlocking yourself. XD
Yeah, considering it's got a lot more levels than 2 it's for the best. Though I think the issue with 2 was just that it had way too much post-game content. You had another whole tier of varying quality levels, the Pit of Pits which takes like 2 hours to beat, the boss rush modes, the fight with Knight Man, and then that final castle which had I think 28 mini levels. It just got exhausting near the end, but when you're so close to 100% completion you just don't want to stop.
@@anueutsuho7425 And he was specifically told by one of the judges NOT to go for the bonus content there. There was a new collectible you could unlock that would basically mean playing every stage again to search for them.
Congratulations, you can now play as... you! My mum would call your species a Highland Stardrake, a small bipedal dragon with large wings that is known for being able to use multiple elemental breaths, including fire, ice, lightning & even poison breath. It's also known for being highly intelligent & can wield melee weapons with remarkable ease. Males have longer horns & females have longer tails. The Warhammer 40K themed stage was quite a nice one with the unique enemy designs & visuals, & for the most part played well too with the exception of some rather troublesome leap-of-faith sections, although to be fair, I've definitely seen MUCH worse in that regard...
Oh god Tier 3 is next. Brace yourself Roahm, that tier has some ruthless levels. The first one you’ll encounter is especially ruthless in it’s own way.
It's kind of like how we got some really _rough_ levels in Tiers 2 and 3 of MaGMML 2. In a similar way, there are going to be some really rough levels in the next few tiers in this contest.
I always felt it’s because it’s where you start getting the ruthless levels that are *just barely* over the skip threshold. The forest tier in Magmml2 felt that way a lot.
I think Tier 4 is rougher than Tier 3 overall. Tier 3 has one particularly problematic level, but the rest are generally okay? Meanwhile Tier 4 has a bunch that can grind you down.
Okay so ACE wants to see how someone judges their level? Okay. Lets play Judge. (Not the Game & Watch game) Space Crusade by PrimarchXI (ACE_Spark but with a fancy helmet on him) Design: 16/35 Fun: 18/25 Creativity: 8/15 Aesthetics: 12/15 Functionality: 9/10 Total: 63/100 Thank goodness I learned a bit of Warhammer 40k lore from that brick disguised as a man, otherwise I would've never understood the reference this stage was making. Though never having played anything by Games Workshop, research on the the opponents of this stage was required. The level itself isn't too bad. The reskinning of all the foes to fit the Forces of Chaos is charming. The giant creature that functions like a Gabyoall and it's ilk, making a mad dash towards you if they're on the same plane, at least goes down easier than them, is neat. The Fan Fiend reskin that actually shoots at you, is also a charming piece. Although I'll admit, those two make "Heretic" Joe and "Chaos" Cannon stand out, with the latter seemingly losing it's ability to shoot at a higher angle. The one enemy I dislike the most though has got to be the Chaos Up 'N Downs. While I'm thankful that they are now telegraphed by the obvious shadow, my brain tends to ignore that and get hit anyways. By contrast, I really like the setups with the count bombs, such as the old "Trigger this count bomb while you're still sliding while at the same time avoid this 'Heretic' Cannon Joe's shots." The Fallen Chaos Dreadnought is an decent enough boss in it's own right, even though it's just a Walker with some new tricks such as Kabatoncue's homing missiles and even Centaur Man's unique spread shot. Though I have to say, the only time it is threatening is when it uses the Centaur Man shot. Overall though I did enjoy my time here. Sure there are things I'm not to fond of, but the difficulty is well balanced, Most enemies are fine and the pace isn't broken. (No. I don't want to be a judge for a MaGMML contest. I do not want that kind of power.)
I think the attempted joke with the Yellow Devil in the Magnet Beam tutorial is that he sees Mega Man as acting as if "bumo"s are the only language Devils can speak and thus insulting his intelligence. But it's really clumsy and falls completely flat, especially given how "bumo" speak is handled elsewhere both in this game and previous, and *needs* to be replaced; it's not funny, it's just awkward and annoying. I reiterate that a "My hovercraft is full of eels"-type joke would work a lot better, and actually be funny. You are very much right to complain about how it currently is. I'm so glad _that_ was the unlock requirement for your costume and not some heavy completion threshold. I love it - it was something you were very likely to do without even trying. And how nice that you get a reprieve from Judge Commentary Man.
Ah yes, makes sense that buster only would unlock your skin. It was either that, finishing a level not getting hit or collecting an amount of shinies 😁
Congrats on making it past Tier 2. I wanna say it's uphill from here, though Tier 3 does have a few "notable" entries. Repair Man was actually one of the first bosses I made for this game when I joined the devteam. I'm glad you enjoyed my take on his weapon; the idea of a boss resurrecting dead enemies around them seemed like an interesting idea. I look forward to you encountering the other bosses I made for this game (as well as my actual entry for this contest)
There is actually one more secret in the Junkyard - you have to use utilities to go over the left wall in the upper left area. I have no idea how you're supposed to find it, the mapping tools only work properly in levels. Also you can activate the switches on the conveyor from above with vertical weapons that ignore terrain like Spark Chaser and Thunder Beam - great for getting from one side of the tier to the other faster, or talking to Tako Trash again. He has a LOT more stories to tell, some available from the start and others requiring you to make story progress. Most of them give information on events and characters specific to MaGMML canon - the story you heard about Wargates has to do with a weird Skull Man fangame that's apparently "MaGMML Canon" and ties into some stuff in Episode Zero? But other stories give more info on characters new to this game, such as the Make A Good Robot Master winners/runner-ups. As for the Judge Application Levels, they were an executable available to everyone - I've played them all myself. They were mostly made by ACESpark or Mick Galbani, and used the odd "Meet the Judges" room locked by the Phased Key as a hub(hence the joke about Pachy being buried in infinitely respawning tanks). Space Crusade was one of them, in addition to: - an absolutely awful level full of broken terrain, Apache Joes, and badly looped Tornado Man music called Coptar Man - an extremely boring and easy level with decent aesthetics and no boss called Midnight Man - an airport-themed level with some serious exploits and oversights (mostly related to keys/doors) called Gate 303 - and a reused 24 Hour level called X Factory that revolved around Mr. X platforms and ended up testing the prospective judges' ability to handle a tough but fair challenge. There mayyyy have been more judge application levels... but those are the ones we WON'T be seeing in this game, as one is already in another game and the others are deliberately awful and unsalvagable.
SPOILERS BELOW! Read at your own peril! Another of the Judge Application levels is available at a later tier within the main game, and like with the Space Crusade level, this one's a good one to check out if you need a break from the tier's levels. EVEN BIGGER SPOILERS BELOW! Please ignore if you don't want to be spoiled about post-game stuff! Fine! I'll assume that you've already beaten the main game, and are at least on the post-game, but you've been warned! Yet another judge application level is available in the postgame.
Poor Wishing Star, he'll never find his bag of miniatures in this dump. Tako Trash has a lot of lore to give, and it's worth hearing out more of it! You just happened to get one that was only relevant to Episode Zero, as far as MaGMMLs go. Not every story is available from the start, of course - several are about characters you haven't met yet - but you do get easy confirmation if you've heard all currently-available stories.
Tako Trash's stories are always nice to hear! Though, the story of the Wargates was also by procy relevant to the events of the game where they first appeared on. Skullman In Scooby Doc 4 The Destroyer Featuring Atsushi Onita. On that game, what was causing the Wargate shenanigans was... ...A mechanical Scooby-Doo lookalike.
Fun fact: those "zodiac robot masters" were actually referred to as constellation droids. the obvious implication being that they're an alien force comparable to the stardroids, or are at least organizationally similar. theres also a number of similarities between their leaders, sunstar and apollo, but their motivational differences are where things get interesting. sunstar was just a weapon, but apollo's goal essentially boils down to restoring their home planet. this is resolved later when Dr Light teaches them all how agriculture works and gifts them a number of useful earth plants. Its mildly funny to me that the two space faring groups in classic mega man are what seems to be a band of space pirates, and a group of losers who are really bad at farming, apparently.
Nobody is a good guy but some are worse than others. I think even in that black-and-grey setting it's difficult to see Chaos as anything but villainous.
Speaking of Warhammer 40K, I had the deranged idea for a MegaMan level where he somehow gets transported to the Warhammer universe onto a planet occupied by the Blood Pact Guardsmen battling invading World Eaters. He first encounters a lone Blood Pact Guardsman who remarks "A man of iron! It doesn't even have the decency to bleed! Ah well, I'll kill it anyway" before they attack. You'll have to kill him, then a cutscene will play showing MegaMan realizing he isn't fighting robots while looking at his slain corpse. After that he makes it through their garrison and kills their commissar. Then he has to deal with the World Eaters, they open a portal to the Warp, in a last ditch effort to kill MegaMan, but then he goes through the portal and battles bloodletters and bloodthirsters in the realm of Khorne. Finally, he fights and kills Daemon Primarch Angron as the stage boss.
Eeeeyeah, I really was _not_ expecting to see Mega Man fighting Genestealers today. (And I only recognized those because one of my siblings used to have the Space Hulk PC game.)
The thing that's kinda interesting about the setting is, from a British perspective, the awfulness of every faction is clearly satire and dark comedy (though it's most notable with the Orks), and some of the fanbase and later promo materials miss that. But it's also there so every faction has a canon justification for fighting any other, including themselves. (ESPECIALLY themselves) But also, you paint pretty models and your wallet cries. A lot.
I remember Mega Man Rocks was the one where you can duck. But the sprite was just Mega Man’s lower torso and his head. I still laugh at MegaPhilX saying that sprite hurt his soul. I can totally see why haha.
I wasn't expecting to see Genestealers today. I remember seeing them in my brother's Space Hulk (PC) game in elementary school, and I subsequently saw them in my nightmares a few times for more than a decade. Beating the game seems to have beaten the nightmares out of me, thankfully. At least we have a durgon costume, and that makes all the difference.
WOW, so Roahm, Space Crusade, is one of the original board games that kicked off the Warhammer 40k universe. those bugs are Tyrannids, or at least Genestealers (lore has changed a lot since then) edit: Ah aceSpark explained more
So... Space Crusade To better elaborate on the stage, there was a Judge Application process for MaGMML3 to ultimately recruit some of the judges for the contest. The first phase included a handful of stages that were put together (mostly by ACESpark) with deliberate flaws. It was the applicants' job to play through the stages and make their own scores and reviews, that way their judging process could be evaluated. Space Crusade was one of the Judge Application Stages in question. As for how I feel about it (keeping in mind that this is coming from the cleaned up version for MaGMML3 itself), it's pretty good. There's definitely a lot of random stuff in it, but it's used pretty well. Congratulations! Dergon costume acquired! The whole "Wargates" concept that Tako Trash was talking about is actually a reference to the fangame "Skull Man In Scooby Doc 4 - The Destroyer (Ft. Atsushi Onita)", though it's also prominently referenced in MaGMML: Ep Zero as well Since you didn't recognize Trash Man, he's from Mega Man: Super Fighting Robot Repair Man is a neat concept for a boss. He's still pretty simple since he's only the Tier 2 Boss, but nevertheless he's neat.
So to explain the 40K stuff I'll try to list them: .The Blood Angels and Ultra Marines are two loyalist chapters (They fight for the Imperium of Mankind). The Ultra Marines are quite lawful, they are good but they care more for maintaining order. The blood Angles are essentially vampires who sooner or later turn into psychotic berserkers (Quite tragic history their). .The bug enemies are Tyranids. Typical swarm aliens that want to eat all life in the universe and make more of themselves. .The marines you fight are chaos marines. They are traitors who worship the chaos gods and just have it out for the imperium. .And finally the robot at the end was a Dreadnaught. If a Space Marine becomes too injured to fight anymore they are put into these mechs so that they can continue to fight. Though it is a horrific expectance which eventually drives the marine insane. And that's the Imperium ones. Chaos Dreadnaughts run on suffering. Both their foes and themselfs. .And a bonus one is the portrait above AceSpark. That their iz a Ork. Them the bestest and greenest bozs in tha eholr univerus. Theys enjoy a good wagh wheres they fight and coclezts on the shinys and daka that they can.
Honestly loving your plan to pace yourself on MaGMML 3 and the other projects in the pipeline. Honestly, as long as we've both been at this content thing, I feel very validated taking my time with projects on my end too, so I'm thrilled to know that you've got a plan to balance the WIPs, and the schedule you have in mind also just sounds exciting regardless. The fun thing is this means this will probably be the first MaGMML I can either put on hold to play alongside your playthrough or power ahead in my own time instead, which is actually kind of exciting. And if looking at the sound test is anything to go by, I genuinely hope the comment section will hold off on the eagerness and let you discover things at your own pace. Because OH MY WOW, if Pharaoh's Challenge is anything to go by, we have some incredible and equally chaotic unlocks on the way and you deserve to remain unspoiled. :)
A 40k reference in MegaMan? Unexpected. And yes 40k is mad expensive. I've been into it for 12 years and I have....probably around 10kUSD in plastic toys and paint. My Ork army is massive lol
I just looked up the Mega Man strategy game and... oh boy, Mega Man's dialogue portrait looks CURSED. It looks like a meme edit but it's not. 9:09 Thunderfire Cannon, I guess? RIP, I thought of buying one for a while and now the model is discontinued.
3:30 To be fair, the Devil robots are not the same, and I think you already know that. I mean, the Yellow Devil that got insulted back in the tutorial room is the first model (the one from MM1) while this one is the second model (MARK II from MM3). I agree with MKII, though. MKI is just petty... ...And the less we talk about the other Devil models, the better. Thank you very much.
I know you’ve used the buster a lot throughout this run already, but I really want to believe the end of episode buster spam as the goose was responsible for unlocking that costume so early
A Space Crusade stage! How awesome is that? Got that game myself and it's so funny seeing it here (and watching a confused Durgon play through it)! Hahaha.
I should clarify the Wargates Tako Trash is referring to hail from the fan game “Skull Man Kills 4: Scooby Doc”. While it was mostly a goofy fangame, it was also added into this continuity as a method of transportation between dimensions. This is also where the cast of Nezumi Man came from- the ending of one of the games shows Butter Nezumi and Milk emerging from one.
that's abisolutely hilarious that you managed to fire ten thousand buster shots before completing tier 2. I think I had that unlocked by around tier 10.
Now that you found the express conveyor, try riding from the far right side to the far left with the Bike! It does absolutely nothing (afaik) but it’s fun! VROOOOM!
I was wrong about the roahm costume. I thought it was tied to either collecting enough shinies or a hypothetical spyro themed level. At least i admit it, and i guess it does work out cause of his perfect run rules bans charge shots.
I never played 40k, but I have a somewhat good grip on the fluff. It's an uber-dark universe where several factions do their best to annihilate each other. There is no "good" faction around, as everyone has several planets' worth of skeletons in their closets.
From what I remember of Repair Buster, it literally couldn't hurt enemies, but there were a few levels that would have a broken item dispenser that had something nice like a 1-up and you'd have to use the Repair Buster to get the dispenser to dispense them. There was also a Wily Fortress boss that was (nearly?) invincible, unless you used Repair Buster on a broken laser cannon to make it fire on the boss. You're not wrong about the wonky controls; if you don't have a gamepad you're stuck with non-customizable keyboard controls that had something insane like h and j for shoot and jump. I finished the game on keyboard and was only able to do it because of the game's low difficulty level.
In MAGMML2, there was Door Man. Now Repair Man. I wonder, if the creator of Megaman Rocks is aware of his robot masters being usedin such big fangames.
I am surprised that Tako Trash is now an actual cool character. Rather than just another one-off Fortress Boss. I really like to listen to his stories! So, about the Wargates. If I remember correctly, the first time that the Wargates were even a plot point was on the incredibly random fangame. Skullman In Scooby Doc 4 The Destroyer Featuring Atsushi Onita. (Yes, that is the actual name of that game.) That is canon to the MAGMML timeline. Tier 2 Bonus Level: Space Crusade Not exactly a fan of Warhammer 40K, yet. This stage was nice. Not much else to mention. Tier 2 Boss: Repairman (Megaman Rocks) I have not played Megaman Rocks, yet this was a cool fight. I thought it was funny how he could summon junk versions of generic enemies!
8:25 Best I guess at is they use the same 'AI' as those small 'roomba-like' enemies that speed up when you get on their level. For the record, I believe they belong to a faction known as the 'Tyranids'. Same with the bugs on the ladders.
I figured unlocking your costume had something to do with firing/hitting a certain amount of uncharged Buster shots. I also stumbled across it in the middle of a boss fight.
Alright, so I'm gonna explain the Warhammer 40K stuff and references to the best of my ability. The first thing that charged at looked like a Tyranid Screamer Killer. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what it's supposed to be because Tyranids are purple, white and red. A Tyranid is a psychic space bug that's controlled by the Great Hivemind to devour all biomatter on a planet. Given their presence on board the ship, The Blood Angels and Ultramarines got bigger problems than a stupid spat. Speaking of which, the Blood Angels and Ultramarines are Space Marine Chapters. A space marine is basically a GMO supersoldier made by the Imperium of Man (humanity). Their are different flavours of them, like the ubiquitous Ultrasmurfs and the aforementioned Blood Angles, and each chapter has their own lore. The green dude with a pistol is supposed to be an Ork, and yes, they're spelled with a K. Also, WAAAGH is their battle cry, and the word they use for the endless wars they constantly fight. Orks are essentially green ultraviolent mushroom people. The Emperor the Blood Angel invokes is the God Emperor of Mankind, the dude who lead humanity as a whole. He's the most powerful stable Psyker in the universe. (A psyker is a person who has psychic powers drawn from this really nasty place called the Warp, where essentially the Warhammer equivalent of the 4 Horsemen of the apocalypse reside.) Chaos is the faction who actively worship the aforementioned Horsemen equivalents, and a dreadnought is basically a space marine who got wounded gravely, and interred into a giant metal death machine so they can still fight. Judging from the skull and the purple pallette, perhaps it's a Night Lord dreadnought, but I can't say for certain. Also, some Space Marine Chapters fell to Chaos, either worshipping one of the Chaos gods or athe entire pantheon. (Even though the chaos gods don't really like each other.) If you wish to delve further in the lore, know that in the grim darkness of the far future holds misery and death, but an almost nonexistent spark of hope. There is some seriously messed up things in the lore.
The Warhammer stage was pretty okay, but the presentation was where it peaked, IMO: it looks great, the enemy resprites were cool, the music is awesome! But aside from a few cool setups with the Count Bombs, it was just kind of an "eh" stage all around. The Chaos Dreadnought boss being a boss version of a Dachone was a neat idea, but in the end? You're just kinda fighting an enemy with a healthbar and a few extra projectiles. :u Repair Man was a cool boss, though! I found him even easier to beat than Regular Joe since tinkering with the other robots means he's often a sitting duck, but I really liked the gimmick behind him resurrecting broken enemies and the fact that he had a big arena to take advantage of it. However, in hindsight I'm not too fond of his pre-fight dialogue, but that's for a much, much later video to leave comments on. :p The Roahm skin was also a really nice way to pay tribute to you! Having been watching you since your Perfect Run/MMBN1 LP days, it's really cool to see you make it into a fangame of this stature! Ditto for seeing how amazed you were to see it in action.
You're a part of MAGMML history now! Anyways, good idea on the break thing, I missed seeing your Classic Mega Man playthroughs way too much because of that burnout phase. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say, so doing this should keep you from burning out this time. I know there's been several Mega Man fan games since you completed MAGMML 2, I just don't know what they are since you hard avoided them while being burnt out. Hopefully they'll be the next projects after you finish MAGMML 3 and work on a few other projects before them, and hopefully they won't break your mind as I know some fan games you played nearly did. ^^;;
ACESpark nice behind the scenes stage for testing the judges. Rolling Trash Man off the Compare belt. Funny lol. Repair Man, is the Tier 2 boss. Makes sense considering Tier 2 is in a junkyard. RoahmMythril unlock his costume By firing the Buster 10,000 times. Makes sense considering RoahmMythril when fighting robot master or custom robot master is to use the Buster to see what they can do. If the robot Master is too hard , is a thing. Hit likes a truck RoahmMythril break out special weapons in startling for weakness. I can only Imagine our rollout master weak to magnetic beam. Cool video RoahmMythril.
About that resolution problem, I ran into that issue with an old game called Decker that was made in the 00s. The way I got around that was using an accessibility tool called "Magnifier", you can zoom into the window that way and use the cursor to move the zoomed in view to center around the window. It's a bit weird feeling, but it could make it a bit easier to play that game with.
6:40 Warhammer 40k. Dunno if it'd be up your alley since every faction is the villain and the general grimdark nature. That being said: you'd probably like.the orks. They're very silly and deadly.
Wait. If something is cobbled together from old robot parts… would that be like if someone made a miniature out of… …I’m not even going to finish that sentence, actually…
Yeah, I did find out how you unlock the Roahm costume previously and I did think about leaving a cryptic comment like "Don’t worry, you’ll unlock that costume just by playing normally" but you had said you didn’t want spoilers and stuff so I doubt that would have been appreciated.
And here we start to see where MAGMML3 goes wrong - like so many stages, it's got too much crammed into it. Which I understand that all the entrants are being represented, but there's too much side content for the game's own good.
I believe the Wargates are a reference to Scooby Doc 4 (a fangame where you play as Skullman) and they are a plot point in MaGMML Episode Zero as well. I don't believe this is a spoiler since I haven't even played Scooby Doc 4, just feel like pointing out what Tako Trash is talking about lol
The funny thing is, the Space Crusade stage isn't really that accurate to the lore because like... why are Orks, Tyranids (aliens) and Chaos Marines (purple armor guys) all working together? Like in 40k universe all these factions hate each other about as much as they hate Space Marines.
on the subject of mega man rocks control scheme: the buttons are laid out to WASD to move, with H and U serving as the A and B buttons. the intention was to emulate the NES controller on your keyboard, but ultimately it just feels terrible. and with no way to rebind the controls, i can understand why many havent played it all the way through
I get the feeling you won't be familiar with a lot of these tier bosses. There is quite a spread of source games, a lot of fangames but even some further-flung sources. It's a good way to learn about some of these - but you probably won't want to play all of them, especially considering several of them are older and rougher!
I think the idea is that when you said 'bumo bumo" you accidentally said something offensive, since Mega Man doesn't actually speak "devilish". Like, it's a common gag to have character try to speak in a foreign language and accidentally say something really bad without realizing it.
Roahm REALLY needs to play "Skull Man in Scooby Doc 4 Featuring Atsushi Onita". Since MaGMML decided to make this game a part of their lore, now Roahm has no choice. Luckily, while the game is rather Serious and Deep, it doesn't take much time. I'd say 3 to 4 episodes? So, I see no reason why Roahm shouldn't play this magnificent game and enjoy the deep and seriuos lore about Cossac's failed experiment and Wargates...
As a Capricorn, it saddens me that he didn't get the right symbol. Looking it up, it's apparently some weird fangame or ripoff or something? But hurrah! You've finally unlocked yourself! TOLD you you'd get it for sure ;)
@@FerreTrip Rockman Strategy is... technically official? I think? But it was outsourced to some other company and has never been acknowledged as canon. It makes Challenger from the Future look normal and on-model, and Capcom already tries their hardest to memory-hole that one!
So that’s how you unlock Mr. Durgon’s skin? Guess I’m cool with that. Not all Tiers have hidden content, but those that do have it are…varying in terms of quality. Some are done that way on purpose like Tier 2’s bonus level, but others… It’s a wise move to take a break…I’m on Tier 13, and I’ll just say…the next couple after Tier 2 almost made me quit MAGMML 3. All the more because I am not a practiced player like our Mr. Durgon.
I wasn't a fan of the Space Crusaders stage. I'm not really a fan of 'reference stages'. Not helped by the fact that I have zero knowledge on the Warhammer series. As for Repair Man he was a solid boss just because I liked the idea of him repairing dead robots into his fight. Mega Man Rocks isn't a good fan game but it was one of the first fan games so I can't really hate it. Just wait until you get to tier 4's boss.
@@SapphireSword-pd1ix To be fair, that was kind of the point. This level was even worse in the Judge Application Levels executable - I definitely don't remember the Up'n'Downs having those telegraphs before. Most of the Judge Application Levels were meant to suck or have some kind of fatal flaw as a test for the prospective judges, and before the touchup, Space Crusade would've fit in pretty well with the rest of Tier 2.
Damn the roahm skin looks so huge when sliding, why ur neck so long!! Sorry, been watching since the original BN playthroughs, watching this makes my old internet silliness fall out.
I can’t believe this game has voice acting but only for one specific costume!
Well, technically all of them if you count the… uh… cheetos
I'm pretty sure that even if you said "Bumo" to him, he'd just get confused, since he's never been depicted to say it in any version of MM3. But I guess the first Yellow Devil offense has scarred Roahm for life?
Your idea of taking a break from MAGMML3 is a pretty good one. Especially with how intense some the later stages can get, taking your time is a really good idea. Also ,congrats on unlocking yourself. XD
Tell me about it. I almost went overheat from playing tiers non-stop. BIG mistake on my part.
The sheer number of levels alone warrant moderation imho
@@kyuubinaruto17Plus there was an actual, very neat, reward for 100% completion, rather than it just being intrinsic.
I wonder if Highland Stardrakes can use Tri Attack? And Roahm might be able to use lightning breath, too? That might come as a shock to him. XD
Man, Highland Stardrake sounds like the name of a metal/rock band Roahm would make to rival Dragonforce.
I'm Repair-man-man-man-man. (Immediately starts destroying everything around him while declaring he can repair anything.)
Ah, good times.
Sounds like Kain from Phantasy Star II(Although he decided to make destroying mechs his job instead).
Repo Man. Repo Man. Repo Repo Repo Man. Repo Man... (repeat ad infinitum)
I get that reference!
Grim: TV repair man, mon
Oh god Tier 3 is next. Brace yourself Roahm, that tier has some ruthless levels. The first one you’ll encounter is especially ruthless in it’s own way.
It's kind of like how we got some really _rough_ levels in Tiers 2 and 3 of MaGMML 2. In a similar way, there are going to be some really rough levels in the next few tiers in this contest.
I always felt it’s because it’s where you start getting the ruthless levels that are *just barely* over the skip threshold. The forest tier in Magmml2 felt that way a lot.
And here I was thinking the worst was over...
Well, he’s taking a break from MAGMML3 so
I think Tier 4 is rougher than Tier 3 overall. Tier 3 has one particularly problematic level, but the rest are generally okay? Meanwhile Tier 4 has a bunch that can grind you down.
Okay so ACE wants to see how someone judges their level? Okay. Lets play Judge. (Not the Game & Watch game)

Thank goodness I learned a bit of Warhammer 40k lore from that brick disguised as a man, otherwise I would've never understood the reference this stage was making.
By contrast, I really like the setups with the count bombs, such as the old "Trigger this count bomb while you're still sliding while at the same time avoid this 'Heretic' Cannon Joe's shots."
The Fallen Chaos Dreadnought is an decent enough boss in it's own right, even though it's just a Walker with some new tricks such as Kabatoncue's homing missiles and even Centaur Man's unique spread shot.
I like this review! is a fun read, I would be meta and review your review, but thats too meta
It was either that, finishing a level not getting hit or collecting an amount of shinies 😁
it was, i believe, ten thousand buster shots!
The only thing missing is a "Bugger!" speech bubble for the damage animation.
@@RealityMasterRogue I know, it said so in the video.
Space Crusade was one of them, in addition to:
- an absolutely awful level full of broken terrain, Apache Joes, and badly looped Tornado Man music called Coptar Man
- an extremely boring and easy level with decent aesthetics and no boss called Midnight Man
- an airport-themed level with some serious exploits and oversights (mostly related to keys/doors) called Gate 303
- and a reused 24 Hour level called X Factory that revolved around Mr.
Yet another judge application level is available in the postgame.
please dont post spoilers
@@kuraux56s59i love that fangame and I love that it's canon😊
@@anueutsuho7425 The one thing that avoids me from playing that fangame is that it has way too many random loud noises.
18:30 Trash Man: "Freedom! Glorious freedom! ...Also, fire hot enough to melt me down to slag, but more importantly, freedom!"
Best way I can explain Warhammer 40k, nobody is a good guy, and Orks likes a good fight, and lots of Dakka (shooting)
Except, in this case, Mega Man. He's the good guy.
(ESPECIALLY themselves)
But also, you paint pretty models and your wallet cries. A lot.
That Roahm skin is truly adorable :D
I remember Mega Man Rocks was the one where you can duck. But the sprite was just Mega Man’s lower torso and his head.
I still laugh at MegaPhilX saying that sprite hurt his soul. I can totally see why haha.
I wasn't expecting to see Genestealers today. I remember seeing them in my brother's Space Hulk (PC) game in elementary school, and I subsequently saw them in my nightmares a few times for more than a decade. Beating the game seems to have beaten the nightmares out of me, thankfully.
At least we have a durgon costume, and that makes all the difference.
3:45 - I'm pretty sure that's a reference to Megaman Powered up where the Yellow devil says nothing but "Bumo"
Thats a pretty cute skin and unlock condition. Repair man is a pretty cool fight.
Finishing up the tier!!!
14:24 - 14:32 - Awesome!!!!
19:14 - 19:24 - Get equipped with RoahmMythril.
Oh man, the Roahm Sprite looks adorable :3
Must say, Repair Man was quite the interesting battle :o
Yeah, someone else made a good point. You technically provide voice acting for this game now, as you're in the game speaking over your own lines.
22:33 "I'm... Repairman-man(-man-man-man)!"
Now THAT is an old reference.
Still remember certain skits from All That.
Alright! Bring out the dancing Lobster Men!
I'm sorry to hear you'll be taking a break, but better you do than you have a miserable time with this. Looking forward to its return!
WOW,
so Roahm, Space Crusade, is one of the original board games that kicked off the Warhammer 40k universe. those bugs are Tyrannids, or at least Genestealers (lore has changed a lot since then)
edit: Ah aceSpark explained more
Also, that's a slight reference to Hell Divers 2
more the other way around. HD2 borrows a lot of its dna from Warhammer and starship troopers
So... Space Crusade
To better elaborate on the stage, there was a Judge Application process for MaGMML3 to ultimately recruit some of the judges for the contest.
Atsushi Onita)", though it's also prominently referenced in MaGMML: Ep Zero as well
Since you didn't recognize Trash Man, he's from Mega Man: Super Fighting Robot
Repair Man is a neat concept for a boss. He's still pretty simple since he's only the Tier 2 Boss, but nevertheless he's neat.
For the record, Roahm has LP'd SFR in the past, but it has been a long while ago since that LP.
Oh right, I knew I remembered Trash Man, but couldn't place which game he was from.
I thought Trash Man was based on a Game Grumps sketch where they imagined Crash Man and Flash Man are friends due to the fact that they rhyme.
So to explain the 40K stuff I'll try to list them:
.The Blood Angels and Ultra Marines are two loyalist chapters (They fight for the Imperium of Mankind).
Yes! we can play as a shiny loving ice durgon now
Honestly loving your plan to pace yourself on MaGMML 3 and the other projects in the pipeline.
To call Warhammer 40k an expensive hobby may in fact be the biggest understatement you've ever let loose.
Best way I ever heard it was
"Welcome to Hell.
We accept payment in paper or plastic.
Leave your morality at the door."
I have to wonder which is worse between Warhammer or that train simulator game that has like, thousands of pieces of DLC.
@@RoahmMythril Tier 2 Above teleporter 161...you missed something)))
"You know what, that's rude. You need to go."
-RoahmMythril, 2024
You are correct, Mr. Roahm. Capricorn is indeed using Virgo's symbol there. I'm really into Zodiac astrological signs so I could tell right away. :D
To clarify, in order to have unlocked your costume, you needed to fire the Mega Buster a cumulative total of ten thousand times.
I’ll miss MAGMML3 here. I do have one other LP I’m watching of it fortunately. He’s on Tier 4.
I know you’ve used the buster a lot throughout this run already, but I really want to believe the end of episode buster spam as the goose was responsible for unlocking that costume so early
Oh, cool, Battle Network 5 will be returning! That'll definitely be something to look forward to!
Repair Man tapping into their inner Metal Shark Player (X6 Maverick if you're wondering)
6:39 That meme is reference to Ancient Aliens
that's abisolutely hilarious that you managed to fire ten thousand buster shots before completing tier 2.
So apparently the reason you unlocked the RoahmMythril costume is because you fired the Mega Buster a total of 10,000 times.
I love your megaman vids! Is there a FAQ on perfect runs? I want to ask if you'll attempt specific games but I don't want to be annoying
Tier 2 Bonus Level: Space Crusade
Not exactly a fan of Warhammer 40K, yet. This stage was nice. Not much else to mention.
Tier 2 Boss: Repairman (Megaman Rocks)
I have not played Megaman Rocks, yet this was a cool fight. I thought it was funny how he could summon junk versions of generic enemies!
I wrote the mirror dialogue for that costume lol
8:25 Best I guess at is they use the same 'AI' as those small 'roomba-like' enemies that speed up when you get on their level. For the record, I believe they belong to a faction known as the 'Tyranids'. Same with the bugs on the ladders.
I figured unlocking your costume had something to do with firing/hitting a certain amount of uncharged Buster shots. I also stumbled across it in the middle of a boss fight.
OMG you killed Trash Man!!!!
You children of unmarried couples! (Being PG for Roahm)
(A psyker is a person who has psychic powers drawn from this really nasty place called the Warp, where essentially the Warhammer equivalent of the 4 Horsemen of the apocalypse reside.)
Chaos is the faction who actively worship the aforementioned Horsemen equivalents, and a dreadnought is basically a space marine who got wounded gravely, and interred into a giant metal death machine so they can still fight. Judging from the skull and the purple pallette, perhaps it's a Night Lord dreadnought, but I can't say for certain. Also, some Space Marine Chapters fell to Chaos, either worshipping one of the Chaos gods or athe entire pantheon. (Even though the chaos gods don't really like each other.)
If you wish to delve further in the lore, know that in the grim darkness of the far future holds misery and death, but an almost nonexistent spark of hope. There is some seriously messed up things in the lore.
haha he got it he got ihm self congrats
The Warhammer stage was pretty okay, but the presentation was where it peaked, IMO: it looks great, the enemy resprites were cool, the music is awesome! But aside from a few cool setups with the Count Bombs, it was just kind of an "eh" stage all around. The Chaos Dreadnought boss being a boss version of a Dachone was a neat idea, but in the end? You're just kinda fighting an enemy with a healthbar and a few extra projectiles. :u
Repair Man was a cool boss, though! :p
The Roahm skin was also a really nice way to pay tribute to you! Having been watching you since your Perfect Run/MMBN1 LP days, it's really cool to see you make it into a fangame of this stature! Ditto for seeing how amazed you were to see it in action.
You're a part of MAGMML history now! Anyways, good idea on the break thing, I missed seeing your Classic Mega Man playthroughs way too much because of that burnout phase. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say, so doing this should keep you from burning out this time. I know there's been several Mega Man fan games since you completed MAGMML 2, I just don't know what they are since you hard avoided them while being burnt out. Hopefully they'll be the next projects after you finish MAGMML 3 and work on a few other projects before them, and hopefully they won't break your mind as I know some fan games you played nearly did. ^^;;
who ever Made your spirt did a Great Job and even Made you turn Colors (dose this mean your hafe Camilion )
Oh huh. Honestly my guess for the unlock condition for the Roahm costume was getting max bolts, since shinies.
Thank you before becoming Mega Man before the tier end.
WAAAGH, diz Ork stage is zoggin great!
REPAIR MAN MAN MAN MAN!

Repair Man shares a similar power that of Trace from Gravity Circuit.
I WAS NOT EXPECTING WARHAMMER 40K TO BE REFERENCED HERE.
6:40
Warhammer 40k. Dunno if it'd be up your alley since every faction is the villain and the general grimdark nature.
That being said: you'd probably like.the orks. They're very silly and deadly.
Wait.

Yeah, I did find out how you unlock the Roahm costume previously and I did think about leaving a cryptic comment like "Don’t worry, you’ll unlock that costume just by playing normally" but you had said you didn’t want spoilers and stuff so I doubt that would have been appreciated.
I do appreciate the restraint, haha.
@@RoahmMythril Plus I was just waiting for you to unlock it naturally to see your reaction xP
And here we start to see where MAGMML3 goes wrong - like so many stages, it's got too much crammed into it. Which I understand that all the entrants are being represented, but there's too much side content for the game's own good.
is the Yellow Devil mk-II holding Zero from Kirby in it's cane?
YD mk-II: Actually, young chap, this is actually the head of my dead prototype son! Thank you for bringing that up!
The commanders of the marinesar known for not wearing a helmet, thats who the last npc was..

on the subject of mega man rocks control scheme: the buttons are laid out to WASD to move, with H and U serving as the A and B buttons. the intention was to emulate the NES controller on your keyboard, but ultimately it just feels terrible.
and with no way to rebind the controls, i can understand why many havent played it all the way through
I get the feeling you won't be familiar with a lot of these tier bosses.
14:25 HOORAY
As a Capricorn, it saddens me that he didn't get the right symbol. Looking it up, it's apparently some weird fangame or ripoff or something?
But hurrah! You've finally unlocked yourself! TOLD you you'd get it for sure ;)
@@FerreTrip Rockman Strategy is... technically official? I think? But it was outsourced to some other company and has never been acknowledged as canon. It makes Challenger from the Future look normal and on-model, and Capcom already tries their hardest to memory-hole that one!
FOR THE EMPEROR MEGAMAN! FOR THE EMPEROR!
So that’s how you unlock Mr. Durgon’s skin? Guess I’m cool with that.
Not all Tiers have hidden content, but those that do have it are…varying in terms of quality. Some are done that way on purpose like Tier 2’s bonus level, but others…
It’s a wise move to take a break…I’m on Tier 13, and I’ll just say…the next couple after Tier 2 almost made me quit MAGMML 3. All the more because I am not a practiced player like our Mr. Durgon.
I'm honestly curious on how that skin got unlocked. I didn't see anything in the video that would hint it.
Apparently firing a total of 10,000 buster shots.
@@RoahmMythril really? Huh. That's interesting. I never even kept up with that.
Probably a reference to the old buster only perfect runs? @@RoahmMythril
Indeed, that would make sense.
@@josh.jones34 And also just the fact that Roahm uses the buster more often than not even when not doing a challenge run, I think.
People do love their WH40K.
Damn the roahm skin looks so huge when sliding, why ur neck so long!! Sorry, been watching since the original BN playthroughs, watching this makes my old internet silliness fall out.
And now back to BN5. You can play with yourself later... waitwut?
Would this 24:33 count as braking the 4th wall? :)
We can break the 4th wall just a little. As a treat.
