On the topic of people hating ionia and/or the players playing it, ionia is very much the region of control having counterspells, bouce spells etc. Its very comparable to blue in mtg or priest in hearthstone. People like to play their stuff and have it make an impact where ionia denies that big impact. As someome whos learned to love playing control a lot more in recent years i understand its so fristrating but its also very necessary for the game
For sure, as frustrating as it is when everything you do is canceled out, it's 100% necessary for the game to have tools that can target the opponent's board
I actually also have an elemental meme deck right now, but it uses voli elder and goes full meme with that helmsman card that gives you two 0 cost elemental spells that you played that game. For 0 cost Clash of giants, buried in ice, and with iascylla on board also 0 cost winter's breatgh for the instant full board clear. It's incredibly meme but people don't expect it so it works better than it should hahah.

For the guy asking how to improve. Not that I'm a good player per se. But for me, what I'm trying to do is learn to hold back, and it has helped me a lot. What do I mean hold back? I have a tendency to spend all the mana I can. Now, I'm trying to learn having a wide board is nice, but having a big hand to play from is better in most situation. If for no other reason than the more cards you have, the more things they need to fear if they are smart player trying to "play around" this or that.
Pink region is like blue in magic every player hates it but we all know the games better off for having it. A region dedicated to counters and delay is a good thing because it means it design is focused. The colors in magic that have the worst cards are actualy white and green because over the years their identities have become blurred one doing to much and the other to little. Its kinda the same with runeterra bandle just has to much for its identity. Even if its supposed to be the jack of all trades it shouldnt be the master. Its draw and counter cards should be a little weaker then the regions dedicated to those mechanics.

Ionia for sure is important. After all, if it didn't exist, Sunny wouldn't be able to abuse elusives, right? /jk
As you said, it's important for it to exist. It has its own identities and I think it enables some really gready archetypes that require to survive until late game which I find nice.

I played this game since closed beta and im not 100%sure but the first 3 patchnots or so where all elusiv nervs because that keyword is bonkers
dont get me wrong a card game needs aggro and midrange so u dont get combo otk all the time and its best for the game if aggro and midrange decks top tier BUT that dosent mean elsusiv because those have limited counterplay in the same way when fearsome was meta it wa also kinda toxic because u had to put bad cards in just because they had 3 atack and u need a blocker early on. a good aggro keyword is overwhelm because it allows the oppoent to paly the game not like the others where they say u cant block me or by fearsome u sometimes cant block me. It feels so bad to play and they say no its so anti fun and thats the reasion i stoped playing yu-gi-oh

To add to your point on elusives I think it's mainly because the game doesn't offer each region a lot of ways to deal with them.
Sure you can claim that you can maindeck cards like Hush and Quicksand but they're not usually being ran as a 3 off.
I think Riot should give us either a keyword that counters elusives (like reach in MTG) or give regions a bit more ways to deal with them.
Like we have the explorers for example as a good answer to landmarks and elusives but they're not main decked by a ton of decks.
There is a counter. There is a "keyword" that allows units to block elusive
Omen Hawk and Blocking Badgerbear comes to mind

@@i_am_person8250 it's not really a keyword. But I do think Riot should just give it one, like "true sight" or "bulwork". It can be a keyword the can block elusives.
Personally, I think they should make a pool of utility cards that any region can play. That way, any deck from any region could have access to options without totally destroying the integrity of the deck.
Not sure if they actually could at this point. But something like that would have made the game feel more balanced.
@@shai310 With so many cards that have random keywords (tons of poros...) i wouldnt like a new keyword that is this weak. But more cards should just have the text that they can block elusive.

On the topic of toxicity, you can dislike a playstyle or players actions without hating the person, and you don't need to spread toxicity because of it. The idea that someone is deserving of negativity because of a videogame is a poisonous mindset and you aren't doing yourself any favors by acting that way

day 6 waiting for elder ryze.
I really want to see a good rye deck since his origin is just as cool as elders. Even though ryze was toxic I hate how he is unplayable due to nerfs and power scaling. In the next patches I hope they buff/rework the unused champions like renekton and ryze. renekton is literally a worse than follower in this expansion.
I think sadly the way he currently works he cant have a healthy meta deck, maybe explorers change that but I believe he would still either be obnoxious to play against or just dog shit like he is now
How would that combo work? Thing with Ryze is that you don't care about opponent Nexus HP and every 6 cost minion is one slot taken away from slow down spell
