Intros: Keep them. Go *wild*, man!
I had this bike in this colour when I was a kid. Got for my 8th birthday and had for 4 years. Brought back some memories
It’s definitely one of my favourite builds!
First time viewer. Loved the video :)
Cheers mate!! Means a lot! 🙏
Thanks! Huzzah on the handsome "new" bike. Great idea on the rack and basket.
Thank you!!! 🙏🏼
👍That turned out great! And the crankset looks way better now. Nice work! 🍻
Hey thanks! I’m super happy with the crank. 🙏🏼
“If you enjoyed what you like.” How’d you know I enjoyed this, and got inspirations to tinker with my current fleet aswell. 😩😩.
Thanks UK Spindatt 😍
HAHAHA! Yeah sometimes I don’t do words good…… 🤣🤣🤣
Intros like this?: YES PLS
fantastic ! 👍
Enjoyed the cool build and totally relate to hitting the wall on a problem and sleeping on it. Good things come to those who wait I guess.
Totally!! I was really struggling on this one and as soon as I let it go and walked away I found the motivation and idea on how to fix and complete it!!
Not too shabby eh. Got some nice colours popping off on that bike 👌
Editing is on point too!
Thanks dude! 🙌🏼 Super happy with this one. Still indecisive on the crank but she rips!!
@@2NDLIFEBIKES I think it works! Those older Raleighs are absolute tanks so I think it suits it. A bit of clean chrome goes a long way against that blue.
That’s a very good point. It feels like a tank! Not in a it’s heavy way. More in a it busts up the tarmac kinda way! 🤣
Some BMX bars would set it off a treat 🤭🤭
Good job with the bike especially the cranks
There's no question - keep the intros of course!!! Starting with fun, ending with a cool bike, nice video structure. And the bike? I really like it, not a fan of the cranks but the colours are awesome.
Thanks Felix!! Yeah I still may change the cranks. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏼
@@2NDLIFEBIKES You´re welcome, it`ll be awesome with a cool set of cranks. 👍
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about taking away from the bike. Sometimes i struggle and keep going because i want to finish it. Taking some time away helps alot.
It really dose! I do it as often as I can now and I think I produce better bikes!
Another enjoyable video. Bike turned out nice. Good to see someone else giving some love to a lower end bike like this.
Cheers!! 🤙🏼 I love a lower end bike. Possibly my favourite bikes are the cheapest!
Just been given the exact same bike. Ridden 2/3 times then in storage for 30 years. Got a similar restoration to you in mind . Plenty of inspiration in your vid!!👍🏼
Thanks and good luck! Hit me up on instagram when you’re done. Love to see some pictures! 🙌🏼
bike turned out great! well done !!!
Thanks dude!! Wait until tomorrow’s upload, it’s right up your street!! 😏
Great video buddy.
Keep the awesome intros, they’re cool.
Thanks for the name drop over the BB adaptors.
If you want yours machined send them my way, I’ll do them for you.
Cool looking bike build as always.
Glad to see the Bonkers are on too. They make a bike. 🤘🏼😎
Cheers Lee!! Very happy with the look but mate need to do the BB. 🤙🏼
@@2NDLIFEBIKES send it my way.
Hey man , I have just picked up a 1991 mustang and may have the same issue .. could you still machine the adaptors? Cheers
super video
Got the same bars on my 92 diamondback topanga running 1x7 well done
I do love these bars! Much better than expected.
I like them too !! What kind of bars are they ?
Got mine off Ebay storm sweepback high rise
cracking video! thanks
♥️🙌🏼
The juxtaposition of schwalbe tires and a one piece crankset is great! Opposite ends of the spectrum. But I've had good luck using bmx bottom bracket adapters with the correct size bearings for chinese hollowtech copies.
Oh that’s a good idea! I’ll have to have a look into this! Cheers Kimo! 🤙🏼
Great job, the bike looks superb mate.
More voiceover please, makes your videos more interesting
Thanks for the feedback! 🙌🏼
I just picked up a Raleigh Sabre on the cheap and was looking around for upgrade ideas. Any chance you could link those bars & grips? Also, any chance there's a DESTRUCTION video for your crank fix. Love the build!
great vid , love bike restoration build, subscribed 👏 amigo
Thanks dude!! 🙌🏼
my next project is a single speed and I'm gonna try your style.
Hey, that’s awesome! Send me some pictures on my instagram!! 🙌🏼
Turned out 👍 good that.
Cheers!! I love it!
The front tyre is the wrong way round. Check the rotation arrow on the sidewall
Tip. Put the headset in the freezer for 30 mins before you install, metal should shrink down for an easy fit. That's what I do to motorcycle bearings in the hubs.
Great tip!
Top work buddy, and enjoying the content keep it up 😀
Thanks dude!! 🙏🏼🤙🏼
😎
Great content mate!
Thanks!! 🙌🏼
Good video! Do not sell this bike! Bikes of this era have longer chain stays and are set up for 26" wheels.
This is a comfort thing. You 'rock' between the tires instead of having your spine jarred by the bounce off the rear tire like on modern (post 2000) bikes.
It will be worth sourcing a machine shop to make the change to the BB adapter. With an external bearing bottom bracket and a 2 piece crank, you will love this bikes ride. I recommend a 22T freewheel and adjust the chain ring to suit the terrain you will do. Why? It's a torque/ chain wear thing.
Thanks a lot to think about! 🤙🏼
Like the final build 🚲 🔥. Them Billy Bonkers are out of stock on Amazon 💔🥺.
Got these on eBay. £37 for the pair.
How did you connect the rack to the canti brakes? Did you use the original screws? I have ordered a similar rack but none of the screws that come with it fit the mounting bolts. Using the original ones- they seem too short?
There has been so many time I should of walked away but Nooooo I was to stubborn and regret it soon after
🙌🏼
A really good, really cheap alternative to muck off is called “Elbow Grease” (I’m not taking the mick, it’s an actual product lol) they sell it in B+M I’ve used it a fair bit and find it really good
Hahaha haven’t seen it, I’ll have a look 👀 🤘🏼
Don’t use elbow grease, it’s washing up liquid and contains salt 😫
Aha, as predicted the bottom bracket shell caused some problems when considered to be replaced.
Yep you got it! I have a guy that can Machine the adapter like I show in the video but like many people have suggested I think I’ll eventually put a BMX crank on it! 🙌🏼
Veramente originale 👍
🙌🏼
Bike turned out great👍 what kind of handlebars are those ?
I just found a Raleigh Activator 2, it's a hog of bike. Kind of just want to get it back on thee road for kicks. Can't see it being much fun uphill mind
Yeah they can be a little hefty uphill!! 🤣
Great video, but I'm curious about the colour of the Billy bonkers... did Schwalbe change the colour?
Hi. There are a few choices.
Classic (brown walled)
Tan walled.
Black walled.
I’ve had a look into this myself as I thought the same thing. From my understanding they do indeed do three colours now like Lee has said. I think I prefer these to the lighter coloured ones.
Me inscrevi no seu canal tô restaurando uma bike Raleigh roadster série AZ gostaria de saber a data da minha bike

It’s hard to say for sure. But I’d say from the fork around 1960s. If you can give me the serial number I might be able to give you a better idea.
@@2NDLIFEBIKES 🙋♂️obrigado
awesome build, at the end do you keep all these bikes or you sell them? :D
A lot of the bikes that have featured on this channel have been kept or family members have them. But I do sell a lot of them as I don’t have the space hahaha!!
Killer bike! Could you share the name of those bars? Thanks!
These here > amzn.to/3NEcsBf
I really like them super comfortable 🤘🏼
3 piece bmx cranks...single speed...pit bike bars....
🙌🏼
As an American, I am terribly embarrassed my “American” cranks.
They could be a lot worse! 🤣
Lmao 🤣
I hope that’s a good LMAO
