  • Well, I don't know where the time as gone, but here is a 3-year update on Gandalf's progress for you! Looking back he has made huge progress, and yet being a 'normal' dog still seems so far out of reach. Watch the video to find out more!

    What a sweet boy.
    He's in the best home.
I love that you have so many black greyhounds.
I was told by my local rescue, that they get overlooked a lot, but i think they're stunning!
All greys are beautiful of course, but i have a soft spot for the black beauties ❤😂
That will be my choice when i go to the rescue. X

Hi there, I just wanted to say that I watched your videos before I fostered a greyhound, and they were so helpful in understanding this unique breed. Thank you for making these videos. I'm so glad I went ahead and adopted my boy, (foster fail!). He is an absolute delight.

I love your videos. They are so sensible, informative and clear. Also your love and affection for your greyhounds is very obvious. Great advice and wisdom. You obviously know this breed like the back of your hand. Fab x

I did the same with Codie - he too has a huge prey drive and goes ballistic at cats - never seen a grey with as stronger a drive. His drive hasn't lessened in 7 years. My lad also has extreme sleep startle and those two factors combined actually are what has prevented me from getting a second grey. Regarding his "other-breed" reactivity, my boy started off triggering at about 50-60 ft away but over the first year I managed to get him down to 25ft. 7 years in, he's now down to 10ft (less if he knows the dog quite well - more if it's a breed he doesn't like - such as huskys, border collies or black labs!) I did the same as you Jill with "watch me!" and Behavioural Adjustment Training to help him. I've accepted that he's as good as he's going to get now. He regularly walks with other greys (has done for 5+ years now) and I've found that's helped his overall confidence enormously. Your Gandalf and my lad have such a lot in common in this respect. He's a beautiful lad Jill!

Codie is a life's work, same as gandalf 🙄 i dont use watch me, but I've tried look at that with him. He just doesnt get the verbal cues generally, so i go with body language mainly. Each dog is different, part of the struggle is finding what works for that individual

He couldn't have a better home.
My greyhound is not reactive. When I walk him with a third person he always has a need to walk in the middle ?
