  • Welcome to Romania, one of Europe's most affordable countires, and our home for 6 weeks this summer! Romania is popular with digital nomads because it is not yet part of the Schengen Zone. Days in Romania do not count towards your 90/180 limit in most of the EU.
    In this video we will talk about first impressions, the things we liked and didn't like, and highlights from our trip.

    I forgot to summarize in the video, that we spent no more than $1000 on all of our expenses except for accommodation in the 6 weeks. If you were able to find a local priced rental, and you were just one person, you could live in Timisoara for $1000 - $1500 per month.

    I was lucky to go in April for a month in Bucharest and Brasov. The people were amazing, the farmers markets were incredible and I loved all the local food. Thank you for the video; Timisoara and Sibiu are definitely on my list to visit next time!

      Brasov was only about 4 days but I loved it. Unfortunately, my first week in Romania I was sick with the Flu or something, otherwise I would have liked to see more of the country.@@slowtravelblog

      Thanks for the list! We were going to go to Salina Turda, but apparently it was quite busy and taking up to 2 hours to get out! (August) We will be back for sure! I think Spring or Fall would be better. We didn't go to Therme Bucharest, will add it to the list :)

    I’m glad you loved your trip to Romania. If you are planning to go back to visit, I would recommend you go visit Cluj and Brasov it’s a lot more greener , they have a Central Park ( Cluj) where you can relax, there’s like a small lake where you can rent boats.
    In Brasov is very green also, you can visit Dracula's castle.

    1500$ okay, you' ve been ripped of :) I payed 800 euros for a 6 room 2 bathrooms 240 sq. meters smack down in the city center. It's no way any apartment in TM can cost that much.

    I r been to Romania. It was great! We had a tour guide for our Dracula’s Tour. Finished with a Halloween party at Dracula’s castle. Siguesoara. Bucharest. Brasov. Plus much more. I plan to do it again and save my tour guides into to my memory.

    Hi there! Have a look for Oradea, I think at the moment it's the best city in RO. Also Cluj is nice too and Brasov (city in the mountains, but very touristic). Cheers!

    You come in a new country and you cook the food from your own country? And if you don' t blend with the culture how you feel you left home? Any way i am sure 1000 % owr country is not big but it' s 1000 more safe then America. Those are historic builduings if you want only new buidings stay in America. Those buildings have a history. And in all the video i ve heard only how hot it was in România😅😂. In the summer is hot , come in the winter next time, but then you will complaine is cold😂etc

    • @slowtravelblog

      We're Canadian actually! And we really enjoyed the historical buildings. This summer was the hottest on record in Romania, so we felt a bit trapped inside. Thanks for watching!

      Ha ha we were so grateful for different kinds of food. We spend a lot of time in Albania where there are not many options. For us a good food scene is variety!

  • @loredanadincu4300
    @loredanadincu4300 6 месяцев назад +3

    I don't know why you travel , really. Just because you can. You don't seem very interested in the culture of a new country, food or traditions. The reasons you say you like the country are superficial and have nothing to do with the culture or traditions. You said you like it because there were malls and great grocery stores. Wtf.

      @@loredanadincu4300 You are too harsh, Loredana. Everyone travels in their own way and for their own reasons, looking for their own interests and joys according to their own criteria, without feeling that they have to please anyone.
      No need to be rude, as long as neither you nor the Romanians are offended by this vlog.
