zippers wont unzip if you leave them zipped on the side.. not on top. typically how you are supposed to do it. no one leaves the zippers hanging in the middle meeting perfectly together..
As a previous Borialis classic owner I can vouch for the longevity of TNF packs. Biggest issue though was the water bottle pockets not being strong enough and the clips breaking. Overall though as you say, very comfortable and very durable.
I like the North Face Recon because of the mesh pocket in the front and a daisy chain, so you can add a small stuff and a bungee on it while I can still use for work.
Love the Jester backpack. My husband and I have owned a couple of them in the past. I just ordered two new ones, one in summit gold and black and one in royal blue and black. I couldn't resist the vivid colors. Our previous Jesters were solid black. I paid $69 each at Dick's Sporting Goods, which I feel is a very good price point for a quality name like North Face. I absolutely love the versatility and the size of these packs. We don't want or need anything huge or overly bulky, just something for when we travel that can carry our water bottles and essential items that we want to have on hand at all times. The main compartment fits my 13-inch MacBook Pro perfectly. They are great for hiking as well. I feel like the Jester is the perfect size. It's not too big and not too small, but just right.
im looking for a backpack mainly for school but i need it to fit my 16.1¨ laptop, the ¨max¨ space for this backpack is supposed to be 15¨ and since you're able to fit your 16 mac pro inside i rly consider this bag as my final choice. Would you think it would be not too stretched for a 16.1¨ or should i look up for something bigger ?
Thanks for the review. A bit of a shame with those zippers and gripless pockets. What kind of foldable sunglasses are those? Looks like a super handy travel/bag format. Thanks in advance.
I love my jester pack only thing I wish north face made a smaller version of there recon I like it's stuff pouch instead of Bungie cords n the jester should have straps on the very bottom
Great video I use nite ize lock on the zippers and it's all good. You can stuff this pack pretty full. Great video appreciate it helped me chose this pack
Is it just my backpack or does the backplate/support structure seem to curve inwards towards the body, especially around the waist area. Seems like it was designed to follow the curve of the spine or did I just receive a defective backpack
It all depends on what your exact use for the pack will be 😃 At 27 liters it’s a good size for a daypack, but may feel a little small for other uses. -Eric
@@PackHacker2 mostly for under plane seat and carry my electronics & toiletries. May be too big to carry around all day in the city. I'll get a packable day pack for that. Any recommendations ? Thanks.
I used a Jester as my personal carry on a recent trip to Switzerland. Both as under seat for the plane, and all day carry, for 10 days. Worked out well. Just bear in mind that this isn't the highest end backpack in the North Face line (it's more of an entry level or budget version), so you won't get all the nicest features, but it's more than adequate.
I don’t know if it’s just me but I’m 5”1 and bought a jester backpack! The aesthetic and durability of it is nice. However, it looks humongous on my back where it really bothers me. It’s also extremely thick at times it’s uncomfortable in a way. I truly do love how it fits a full size water bottle but the big pocket is not very stretchy which also can be a problem.
@@isabellathewizardima be honest it really is! (At least for me) it’s been a week since school started and this backpack doesn’t have much stretch so it’s been SUCH a hassle i really wanted to love it but all my things are either super deep in the backpack and then I have to dig down just to get it because of how tight the backpack is and it’s a big backpack but I feel it doesn’t fit enough :( but I think if you have less stuff to carry it’s better!
@@LANIIWR1D Unfortunately I also need it for school, and I need to fit a bunch of text books in there! You also mentioned that it’s not stretchy at all and I hope that doesn’t mean that you can’t fit a waterbottle. Aside from that, I probably won’t buy it because I don’t want to look smaller than my backpack!! 😭
@@isabellathewizard well it def fits a water bottle! I use a 48oz hydro it’s just the inside I’m a frustrated with + the size 😞and yes the backpack is definitely bigger than me 💔I’d say get a carhartt, double pocket jansport or even target backpacks! They have ALOT more stretch

You can just place both zippers on either side, which is how I always wear backpacks, so that argument gets thrown out the window

The roav sunglasses.

is possible to remove the bunge strap without cutting them?
the whole shoelace configuration in the front was enough to dissuade me, since I am so hard on my backpacks I'm sure it wouldn't last....

2nd day of school and the front elastic came out of the top 2 holes. It's all enclosed and I can't figure out how to fix it. :-(

I have the previous generation Jester and just bought this newer version for my son. It doesn’t seem as well made but still looks nice.

What’s the difference in sizing between the men and women version?? In L

I know that its just a backpack, but I've heard that it's a woman's jester. Do they have a male jester also?
I'd say it's more to the unisex style
The black one, for example, looks great on both genders
They have a normal and a women’s one

Yes

Especially since VF Corporation bought them. Noticeably lower quality.

What color is this in?
Hey Edward! That's the Mineral Grey/Sulphur Spring Green colorway. Thanks for the comment!
