    Your dogs are gorgeous. I have always had springers, lost my last 3 years ago and have decided no more dogs for me but I am now granny to 2 frenchies a male and female and the female has just gone into her first heat so they have been separated and the female is living with me until it's over. Both dogs are doing well but they must miss each other like crazy, they are best buddies. All I have done since I got her is search videos to make sure I know what I am doing and make things as easy for her as possible as I have never had a female before and I worry she isn't happy being away from home and especially being away from her best friend, they are usually joined at the hip. I plan to see how it goes but I expect to have her just over 3 weeks but she won't be going home until I am absolutely sure it's over. Thank you for the informative video.

      @@emberandcolesenglishspringers Thank you for your reply. She is going home tomorrow, she stopped bleeding a week ago and her vulva has gone back down. Hopefully this is not too early, it's 3 weeks exactly but I don't want to keep her any longer than necessary. We love each other to bits and I have got so attached to her but she needs home with her family before I run away with her lol.

    My one year old won’t stop crying for my female 8 year old in heat! Even when we take him away all the way across town without her! Mine and hubby’s head hurts from the constant whining, he won’t eat sleep nothing. She has a diaper on and he will hump her head the most lol and sides but can’t seem to get it right 😂 that’s good tho. He just humped her head aggressively for 10 minutes 🤦‍♀️ she growled once but still stood there and took it 😩 I thought it would tire him out which it did, he drank all his water up but still crying for her and he’s literally less than a foot away from her 😵‍💫 My mind is exhausted, it’s worse if we separate them, he needs to “see” her or he loses his shit 😭🥴We have her in her kennel.. I cannot wait until this is all over with geez

    We rescued two dogs in the past few years...that is our thing. Previously, we had rescued two female Poms...God Rest Their Souls. The two were 'fixed', so we did not have any issues back then. In the past 3 or 4 years(time is flying by lately), we rescued (at the time) a 3 yr. old female G/Dane and a 2 yr. old mixed (male) Lab. We got the girlie right after her first heat. When she went into heat her second time...and our first experience having both a male and female dog...oh my Gooooood!. We went through this a year ago...we are in the middle of another 'heat'. I could write a book. We have cages for both of them(we call them 'their houses'). We have been told by friends that putting them in 'their houses' is a bad thing and reflects on us as owners......THEY HAVE NO IDEA! Our male LOVES his house. He goes in there to take naps...all on his own. Everything you stated in your video is true. We are a household that the man is a truck driver(and has a late morning start and comes home about 2-3 a.m....to start his job again at 10-11 a,m. Our house rule is that our female gets to stay downstairs with him on Fri. and Sat. nights. Talked him into letting her stay downstairs with him this week, even though he has to get up and go to work. Normally, I have both of them in their houses...but during her heat, OMGosh, THEY NEED TO BE SEPARATED....just so my male and I can get some kind of sleep. I used a powder deoderizer on my carpet to try to get rid or neutralize her scent. It kinda worked. Calmed him for a bit. He still has not gotten a full night's sleep in five days. When I eventually....and thankfully wake up daily, they are both upstairs....separated only by their houses. We are in the middle of the heat crud. Normally I can leave my female free upstairs and only my boy stays in his house....but during this time they are both in their houses. Not sure if you can relate, but half way through her heat my female becomes a whore. She consciencely sprawls out....or positions herself to literally let him lick her bottom. I yell(lose my voice during THAT week). Boys try to take it further....yes, they do. Oh, when the boy whines....dealing with this A LOT....keep a spray bottle of water handy. They will calm after a few sprays....not cruel....handy.

      I was so happy we didn’t have to deal with Cole for her whole heat, as we sent him to my Mothers. However I think she got the raw deal as he was still wanting to be with her and she didn’t care a bit. Next time we may send her away and see how that goes. I would want to have to keep them together the whole time it would be a nightmare. We may have to at some point 😬

      You usually want to wait the three weeks before bringing your male back home. Usually bleeding gets less around week 2 but this doesn’t mean that her heat is over. Wait till her vulva gets smaller and three weeks are up. We brought Cole back and it took him 36hrs or so to realize she was not in heat any more. She also had to get mad at him a bit for him to back off. Just be careful they are not left alone together until the male is not interested in breeding her at all. Hope this helps 😊

I wanted to neuter him but my hubby didn’t. I just hope he will calm down because he has a high mating drive even with new male dogs! Thank you for explained the male may need some retraining after. • @emberandcolesenglishspringers
      @emberandcolesenglishspringers  2 года назад

      If there is someway to not have her dog that would be best. The easiest would be to keep them separated, by the time he gets there she will be almost in her breeding time. Anywhere from 10 to 13 days into her cycle. At this time they can’t be together at all and the male will whine, howl, not eat, pace and not sleep. He will try to get to the female, one contact is all it takes. Female won’t be bothered much, when she is at her time to be bred she will stand or mover her bum toward the male inviting him. Good luck 😊

      Ember just had her second heat and when she was in the breeding heat section where we kept the two dogs apart. Cole would sometimes try to breed us and when we stoped him he was not happy, you could say he was aggressive. He tried to breed my 5 year old son and when my husband pulled him off he was very angry.
      Once she was out of breeding heat near the end of the three weeks Cole relaxed. He slept better, was calmer, didn’t try to breed us and went back to his happy self. Cole persisted until day 20 and was not trusted with ember till day 21. New in heat video up today, might have more information for you. So I noticed the males are following the female since mid June then I kept the female separated from the two males about a week ago because the males are fighting.
