Hello, Steve! Did I overdo this one? I literally mentioned all 360 of the players, all 30 coaches and even mentioned all referees during this review! It was a lot of fun and I'm hoping to have even more fun when I play a game of Prime Time. Thanks for your videos. They are the best. I got back into tabletop hoops game in about 2015 after about 25 years off and your Hoops Tabletop Pro Basketball video in conjunction with my love for Jim Mickey's Fast Break got me back into the game, so to speak. Cheers! 🏀
Thank you for the praise, pjet! I keep buying up all of the ABA books I can find to increase my knowledge of that wonderful league. The level of play in the ABA nearly matched the NBA by the time the two leagues combined players in 1976. It's a wonderful and often overlooked piece of history. 🏀
I'm a bit young to have seen any ABA games live but I did collect Topps basketball cards in 1976, so that was my first brush with all of those great ABA players. What a great league!
Loved the review. I didn't realize so many players were left off. We need Keith to come out with 15 or 20 player expansion set! And I'm not sure, but I think the ratings were based on careers not seasons. I will be using Wilt on the sixers and Dr. J on the Nets along with the teams they are placed on. (among other players) At first, I was kind of luke warm on this game, but I really like it!
Thanks, Bradley. While the Plaay creators missed swaths of players (including all Cavaliers who played or coaches in the 1970s - Chones, Russell, Bingo, Jim Brewer, coach Fitch), I enjoyed going thru this group of players, team by team. Doc, Connie, Spencer, Honeycomb, The Rajah, Freddie, Neto, Big Mel and a whole bunch of older legends - many with ABA ties - were overlooked. I don't know how versed they were in basketball history but am still glad they created this unique set of cards. Not many creators do all-time teams for basketball these days. Overall, a cool project. Just completed my first game of Prime Time. Check out the video. Take care. 🏀
I agree with that opinion, sfgoogle! Doc had amazing years in the ABA and good to very good years in the NBA. As I said in the video, I don't think there was enough acclaim/respect awarded to the great players of the ABA. Have a good one. 🏀
Good point. These are small cards but, on the plus side, it keeps the game footprint small, too. I'm pumped about playing my first game of Prime Time soon. Have a good one. 🏀
Good point. I think there were some sentimental picks made within this group of teams. There were some omissions as well (Connie Hawkins, Zelmo Beaty, Roger Brown, Gus "Honeycomb" Johnson, Maurice Lucas) that are frustrating. However, I feel that Danny Ainge was deserving, but not as a Suns player. Putting Ty Lue as Cavs coach wasn't the best pick as the entire 1970s Cavs were ignored (Jim Chones, Bobby "Bingo" Smith, Campy Russell, Jim Brewer, who is a ton more influential than Anderson Varageo). Have a good one. 🏀
Phew! Now THAT's a review! Happy to hear my video got you into the game. This ATFG set is a lot of fun. Happy gaming!

Your knowledge of hoops history is impressive!

@@redfanrod I loved the ABA! Only really followed hoops in the 70's.

Rod, thank you for sharing the video on Prime Time Hoops All-Time Franchise Great Teams. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays.
Thanks for your support as always, David. This is a fun adventure. Looking forward to some game plays. Cheers! 🏀
Awesome stuff!
Thanks for the praise, Doug! Playing my first game tonight. Cheers! 🏀
Guessing they refused to think ABA, but I think Dr J belongs on Nets.

They make great games but I am not a fan of the small cards. If they changed their card format I would buy it.

Steve Kerr... what a joke. Stopped watching after that.

@@redfanrod I enjoy your videos, by the way. I was a big Statis-Pro fan growing up.
