Truly amazing! My mother comes from England (we live in Australia) and has only been back once since she was 16.. She’s now 70. It’s amazing to me how much open space there still is in England despite how populated it is and how small it’s size. Incredible channel!
there is an invariable law of hiking which is that if you find the perfect spot for a tent it is too early. once you slept, in some second best spot, after hiking 10minutes you come across a much better one.

I found your website and your channel through a web search into toe socks, preparing for my first solo wild camping hike. I'm in the USA and it's incredible how much South of England looks like the piedmont region of North Carolina. We also have wild black berries, oak forest and rolling hills with pastures. Come try out our Appalachian Trail it starts in Georgia USA and goes 2200 miles along the Appalachian Mountains all the way to Maine, USA as one continuous trail.
Amazing! The US is so large and so varied, you have almost every landscape out there! The Appalachian Trail might happen for me one day... I did the PCT in 2019 and it was gorgeous!!
@@wildrosie most of them are very gentle, just have to be careful with mothers and their young especially in a big group like you encountered. Its good to be cautious like you were lol
@@kM-xp3ik True! I noticed the British cows were pretty relaxed. But cows seem different in different countries. When I was in Tasmania they were pretty scary. In New Zealand they got very curious and sometimes followed me around!!
Somebody commented that reminded him of North Carolina. It reminds me of coastal range of California in the spring lots of oak trees and wide-open spaces with rolling hills. Yes I’ve been to England a couple of times and parts of England do remind me of the coastal range of California

Get yourself a DD 9x9 tarp and a self-inflating camp-mat, Rosie. I wild-camp often in the Scottish Highlands, and they've never let me down👍 And do yourself a favour ....... wear combats, not shorts, eh? 🤣😂🤣😂 Love your videos, stay safe❣
Amazing photography and great video with the wild camping as it illegal what happens if you get caught or is that unlikely? I'm doing my research as im think of doing it this summer after this pandemic and how do u stop your feet hurting I've walked 20k today and I have so many blisters
Key is to make sure no-one can see you when you're set up - so hide from roads and farms, don't set up your tent until it's dark and be gone by daylight! When it comes to foot pain you may just have to build it up slowly, and hike quite a few shorter days until you get used to it. Also make sure your footwear is comfortable. If you're wearing boots, I'd personally advise getting trail runners instead! Happy trails!
Keep this up! Unpretentious, lovely mindful, calm style. I much prefer this type of hiking vid compared to the fast paced ones that are over edited with too much zippy drone footage.
How do you go about the camping itself. Since camping in the wild is not allowed in England? What are your tactics to not get caught? It looks so piecefull and lovely I would like to try it but I don't dare to almost.
Scary encounter with the cattle. I looked it up on the Internet and they said only four hikers( you call them “ ramblers” in the UK) have been killed in the last 40 years
I don’t understand why you don’t carry a sleeping bag and an insulated pad? What am I missing about camping in the UK? Is it illegal to camp where you were hiking?
I don't think it's entirely legal OR illegal, but it's sort of condoned by most people as long as no one sees you, essentially. Regarding the gear, I do have all those things but didn't have access to them. Since I was only going to be out there for a few days I figured I'd be okay slumming it a bit...!
I guess you camp carrying everything in a car or small van because all of this is useless when you hike and camp carrying everything on your backpack. I am sorry but that was not much of a revelation, just using the utensils in a camping site instead of at home…
