I have a great Uncle that is still on that ship. He was 18yrs old, served as a water tender. He had that day off. His buddy's wife came to visit and switched with his friend so he could visit his wife. My uncle went back to work and that's when the Japanese bombed he USSArizona. He was killed instantly. My great grandfather use to tell me stories of his little brother. RIP to my great Uncle William Ratkovich!

The fact we allowed Emperor Hirohito to visit the U.S.S. Arizona still bothers me. Mind you, I’m glad the United States and Japan are now Allies. I’ve visited Japan and it’s a beautiful country, with a great culture and wonderful people but there are still things that shouldn’t be done.

The idea that the Japanese had -if they sank a half dozen WW1-era battleships (where most would be salvaged and would go on to serve for the rest of the war) it would give them an advantage was insane. Totally insane. The ships that replaced Arizona, whose 14 inch guns travelling at 21 knots could move at speeds between 33 and 38 knots and packed heat to the tune of 16" guns came out in less than 3 years. Never mind the hundreds of light and heavy carriers, destroyers cruisers and submarines that the USN could throw at the Japanese. It was really the most supreme act of folly in the history of warfare.
The Japanese were hoping to find a carrier or two in port , or even near by , but of course didn't. Crippling the base was also on the plan , would've forced our fleet back to west ports and to operate without an advanced forward base.

i would agree that it does look like bones there, like rib cage bones. however i would also agree that the sediment is very thick as it's all the way up to the top of that sink, which would stand roughly 36 inches off the deck. Why would there be bones on top of 36 inch sediment. it wouldnt make sense so i doubt they are actual bones of a human anyway.

The Navy was smart....what good is a battleship without guns after all. U.S.S Arizona is the only battleship still on patrol.

Can some one tell me why no skeletal remains were seen although 1100 men perished.
Silt build up over 70+ years almost certainly buried the remains. Also they didn't go inside all of the spaces of the battleship.

No its no, thats not the Floor , its sediment nearly a Yard thick, any Bodies there were retrieved.
