Never say die. I think it's a little too early. I do agree, though, that we need an extended look on the vets and see if we can get something back. Poeltl will be hard to replace. The way he seals opponent rim protection is vital to RJ's strengths.
Somehow both a tough (this season) and good (next season?) spot to be in. Jak is the biggest trade Q, how can they get anyone decent in return to fill the 5? They cannot play without Jak, and there's still no decent back up at the 5 plus probably needing some decent pieces at the 4 and maybe back up PG too. Quickley got a fat contract and basically hasn't even played. There actually isn't much room to take on bad contracts and next season they have a lot of cash on the books already, esp if OA gets a raise and stays.
Eh, the Knicks game was more the beginning of Ja'Kobe Walter's ascendance over the team ... and the league. Whenever a door closes, another door opens. Who cares about what the team and/or BBQ is capable of? We don't yet have enough talent to knock off the Cavs or the Thunder in the playoffs. Let's focus on developing the individual players. And it's helpful to not have vets like Brown or even Scottie taking minutes away from the yutes. 2025-26 should be the season to see how it all fits together. 2026 is also apparently a good draft, as Darko has noted, and we'll have two decent FRPs. So further growing pains next season will actually be welcomed by management.
Yeah, I hear what you’re saying. Obviously “the end” is a little hyperbolic, but I meant it in terms of the Raptors competing this season! Agree about the vets, I think they should find a way to move off of some of the non-core veterans to make room for the youth.
1. Without purposefully tanking, I think Raptors get in that undesirable play-in zone where there are no guarantees and the draft pick is not as desirable in a loaded draft. However this draft is 20 deep so there is a very high chance they get a core piece. 2. This team does not look like they are tanking; they are playing their hearts out so it will take more than a few weeks of Barnes being out to ensure they aren’t in the play-in zone. 3. In hindsight I’m surprised Jakobe Walter went 19th. I have him 7th in a redraft and the shooting stroke is legit. 4. Would consider trading Poetl to ensure the plan goes through
@@chesterfieldjones1055 he’s in the last year of his contract, and he’s been injured the entire season. If he’s able to return a FRP, Masai deserves a medal.
doomer here.. you know damn well we're not trading any of our vets, specially canadian olynyk to tank.. if we didn't tank for wemby, we're not tanking for flagg. don't be surprised when i'm right
I get it! I think this is a different scenario though. This team came in with lower expectations. Unless the front office is on the hot seat, I think they’ll make the prudent decisions. We’ll see though, you may be right!
Ok, fair enough. But, nobody calls out Lebron-they lose. Somebody called out Embid-they win. I'd rather watch RJ and Jakob anyways. Bruce "LilNas" Brown and IQ? havent done sfa for the team, and Scottie always looks like nobody ever got injured worse than he did. KAT got up and walked it off, so did Klay Thompson back in the day. The day Scottie gets up and walks it off, MAYBE THEN he would become a leader. But, waddoo I know...@@RaptorsReport
If scottie is out for more than 2 weeks, and IQ is not coming back anytime soon, then it's really time to tank. Trade Jakob and let Fernandes be the tank commander while the young core developes
The background music was still playing in my head 😂
I knew I forgot something!

So sad about scotties injury. I really believe this team, fully healthy could be fighting miami and miluwakee for that 5 and 6 seed
Too bad about Scottie 😑 I hope to see some inspired playing by RJ and Ja’Kobe in the weeks ahead.
Me too! Still plenty to watch for.
Judging by his sparse screen lay out, either raptors report is definitely a graphic design guy or definitely not a graphic design guy...
Thank you, or... blast you?

12:20 - watch Scottie come back, and we make a 1985-86, Michael Jordan like run to the playoffs. They were 8th seed with a 30-52 record.
@@SP.007 that would definitely be cool!

Have you forgotten about Bruce Brown? A healthy BB could return a FRP.

The end of what, losing??
I meant the end of snarky comments, but it looks like I didn’t get that right either!

I agree. Jak is a good player and I like watching him, but he’ll probably fetch a good return.
You forgot those years with no center?? Maybe Khem Birch would come back..🙄
Raptors are better with out scotty bums .the best thing to happen to this team .
