If there’s any team that counters the raptors really hard, it’s the grizzlies. Just outmatched on every position and cant really surprise them with different play styles. Wanna run? So can they. Wanna slow it down? They eat up all the rebounds plus they anchor a top 8-10 defense in the league. However this is a great game on what we need to cover this off season during the draft and free agency. Keep up the great work RR! Hopefully, we can get some updates as well on some prospects that the raptors could target next season.
@@mbmdallo17040 yup, I have some free time, which I will devote to examining the prospects in this year’s draft. And yeah, the Grizzlies are a really well run team. They have a great scouting department, seem to have the patience to build the right way and have a superstar talent in Ja Morant.
both trades are good imo and taking on those dead salaries is fine. we are not competing until 2 years later. and everyone that matters (in my opinion) is still under contract till then in scottie, iq, rj, ochai, jakobe and gradey, maybe jakob if he doesn't get traded. that lakers 1st seems like a dream as i'm almost sure they will be in the lottery at that time. they will most likely think that's an overpay and will value it more than some bad salary shedding. that davion trade, is fine, but seems a bit more like a nostalgic move for me. i'm sure there is a trade out there somewhere that can be similar to ochai, where a team has given up on a young prospect, a salary filler and 1 2rp. but at this point, i will take any second round pick really, but would prefer a project player added to it. shead and davion seems redundant and i highly prefer shead. i'm really interested in his development
Yeah I could see the Lakers wanting to hold onto the pick. Capspace for the Lakers is worth more for them than almost any other team though, because a huge percentage of the players in the league would love to play there. Thanks for the comment!
I'd keep Davion Mitchell and sign Lowry via free agency. I think one of Mitchell and Shead would have to go eventually but I think we can maximize their value for their time being since we got nothing but games to lose this season. Trade for Bruce Brown is really a fight for what team is the most desperate for him.
26:19 Trae is averaging the second lowest points per game of his career, the second highest turnovers per game and is shooting 39.8% from the field and 32.9% from 3. He is playing BAD.
@@crazyand2099 he’s been cooking recently. 27 PPG 11 APG on 45/43/83 shooting splits over his past 5. Also averaging a career high 12 APG on the season!
@@RaptorsReport that's a small sample size, assists are great, but between his scoring setbacks, bad efficiency and terrible defense, I wouldn't call his season good.
Raptors dont want to trade to receive trash, so no trade period 100 on Barrett, Scottie was stats padding, his points cane when they were down by over 20. Raptors need to get rid of who dont like 6' 8 Sf 6, 10 pf and 7 ft centers
The Lakers 2029 pick is certainly enticing. But to take on >$60 mill worth of basically dead money? Eh, I dunno. Vanderbilt was supposed to be pretty good at one time. Is his shooting form a lost cause? Raptors could use more size, but not at the expense of spacing. And I despise Gabe Vincent (professionally, not personally). I can't believe Spo gave him any minutes at all in the Heat's playoff run a few years back. 10% of the time, he did something worthwhile. 40% of the time, he was NPC. And 50% of the time, holy cow was he being paid by the other team!? I think I'd rather have Jordon Poole! Is there anything else the Lakers can give us? Maybe throw in 2026 and 2028 swaps? We're giving them an actual asset, and they're giving us pure toxicity!
Yeah, I might have engineered a bad trade for the Raptors, but the Raptors should be looking for bad contracts attached to picks IMO. That’s the OKC model that has worked so well for them. Vando is not a shooter unfortunately. He’s probably a backup at this point, but there was a time when people were pretty high on him. He’s injured at the moment but he could be a decent backup C (if overpaid). Good defender, good rebounder, vertical spacer. Might be worth it as a reclamation guy.
@@RaptorsReport While that is really nice, the thunder the following summer had an all time draft class of JDub and Chet. We NEED to hit on our picks in order to be more like OKC and less like Detroit.
Best raptors channel out there!
We need Yak back. He’s just such a steadying influence; always there when needed and just a whiz at sending the ball to the right person.
@@Ednanadine yup, his presence is dearly missed. Especially when there is another giant like Edey on the loose!
I love the trade segment
It’s not lazy content
@@HunchoAlejandro thank you! I like coming up with trade ideas, I just wish the algorithm shared the trade videos a little bit more!

Great breakdown all around! Thanks for the follow up
Great work my man!
Another banger
Lowry definitely one of my favorite raptors of all time
I like both of the trades gotta get them picks😊

I don’t see the Lakers or 76ers doing either trade. Homer trade ideas.
Sorry you didn’t enjoy the video. Do you mind elaborating on what parts you think are unrealistic?
Lowry is not coming back. He is on a team that is play-in bound at least. In fact I wouldn't do that to him it would be mean.
Good video though.
Absolutely not! Raptors need to stop recycling players. They are players out there that have dog in them and we need that not some old recycled player
Simple answer: No.
Man this last game was bad... I'm starting to worry about our ability to turn the corner in the future.
I wouldn’t worry too much about that. The Thunder lost by 73 points to the Grizzlies (odd coincidence that) 3 years ago.
