Just for the record - the idea for this particular record, which I co-produced with Phil Larsen in 1996, came when my wife of the time Anne Hamilton sang it at an Irish wedding in Watford, England. The crowd went mental and so, shortly afterwards, Anne, Phil and I put it together in my studio (EQ Studios) - also in Watford. My main contribution to the process was the fiddle solo, Anne sang it and Phil arranged and mixed it (on his Akai sampler!). Also for the record, I (John) am Scottish, Anne is English and Phil is half-Danish!
I've been to Irish weddings in Ireland this had never been played. At English-Irish weddings in England, they're played for half the night. This played twice at my Uncle's wedding and the atmosphere was euphoric.
