      I hit RDLs once a week on my second leg day. Hammies grew and my low back gets worked to the point daily tasks don’t bother my back at all.

    I started using straps a year ago and never looked back..The back gains and strength were out of this world..I was held back alot by my grip strength.

      straps are the easy way out, if you do heavy rows and fat bar pull ups you literally can’t have a weak grip. saying your grip gives out is common sense and shouldn’t be seen as a negative, but giving out at the same time as the back should be the goal when developing grip strength.

    I could only do 1 pull-up at a time so I was doing lay pull downs and shit but then I heard you say don’t worry about reps worry about sets and just do 50 no matter how long it takes and now 2 months later I can do sets of 10!!!

      So you did 50 sets of pull ups with little reps? Is better than doing the lighter lat pull downs with more reps?

    Tip #1 alone has been really helpful for me lately. It was only when I tried using straps on my weighted pullups and rows did I realize how much my grip strength was kinda holding back those extra back gains.

    Weighted pull ups + your fav horizontal row variation + progressive overload in the 6-30 rep range = B A C K

    Cheat rows are a game changer. I agree on no momentum on basically all other back moves but cheat rows are different.

    My back workout is chinups for lats, wide barbell row and slds for thickness. Also I add cable flies for the posterior delt.

    0:20 i agree. I put on 3 inches to my quads in about 2 months. My back has been a weak point for my whole lifting journey until now since I'm prioritizing it in my training

    Upper Back muscles are super durable…my last bulk i upped the volume and frequency and my mind muscle connection went up significantly

    Thanks for the great videos Pete. I love the straight forward approach.
    Tomorrow I will be doing pullups, rows, shrugs, and easy bar curls. I’ve even started using lifting straps for the shrugs…. Still haven’t let go of my ego enough to use them on other exercises yet.
    I do deadlifts on leg day, because I love them, but they will probably be the death of me. I do behind the head skull-crushers (almost like a pullover) on chest day.

    100% agree with straps...I used to look down on people who used them and boy was I an idiot.
    Even if you aren't actually dropping the barbell or dumbbell, the grip can still be a limiting factor without you realizing it.
    Back is almost always the area that people figure out how to train last, hopefully this video gives folks a head start!

      I use Versa grips but any straps will work fine. Just personal preference

    Straps have helped me in a huge way, on one of my hands, three of the fingers I cant use due to an accident I had a few years back, so the straps have always been a game changer for me. Even if I didn't have the injury I would still have used them on my heavy compounds, like you said, you have more in the tank but the grip gives up.

    Lee Haney had one of the most impressive backs of all time and for the most part only barbell rowed 185. If accurate he had Supreme mind muscle connection with the back.

    Something I do that I don't see alot of people doing is that I use a cadence for my exercises, especially back movements. 2-4 seconds up and 4 seconds down. For back, I also hold the contracted position for 4 seconds. Many people cheat or rush through rows and pull-up variations and miss out on becoming better developed than they otherwise could.

    By far the most important tip for me was, imagine your hands and forearms as hooks and rope, and you pull with your elbows as if you pulled the rope and hooks.

    My back is head and shoulders above any other body part for me but it's probably because I love the BB row, supinated or pronated I love it. I wish my chest looked as well as my back.

    For me its always been hard to add Thickness to my back. My lats grow super easy as soon as i started doing pullups. Having scoliosis in my upper back doesn't help.

    Disagree with it being the hardest to develop. All you have to do is pull heavy weight, but people try to overcomplicate it.
    Deadlift + Rows and Pullups. Heavy.❤

    Needed this, sth i would like to add up (at least for me) weighted pull ups/chin ups are trash if you are going to go below 6 reps i was only doing sets of 4-6 and my back didn't grow that much, this year I'll do sets of 7-10 minimum. Also I have a question, how can I get huge traps? Are shrugs a waste of time? I was doing upright rows, deadlifts, RDls, SLDLs ,back extensions and it didn't grow that much

      For traps I would suggest loads and loads of overhead presses, both strict, seated and push. As I’ve gotten real strong in them my traps have grown to point of people accusing me of steroid use. I also deadlift and barbell row alot and the cherry on top is various chest expander movements, something that alpha destiny recommends warmly.

      @@innovatixn99 Just focusing on Deadlifts and heavy Barbell Rows will be sufficient. (You can add little accessory exercises such as face pull and upright row.) I`ve gotten my traps huge just by doing so. OHP will definitely help as well but you don`t need to cut chest volume for overhead press.

    All the fitness influencers are hating on the deadlift, I don't know if I should deadlift or just do barbell rows. My main goal is gaining muscle and everyone says that if you wanna gain muscle then focus on rows and not the deadlift. THERE IS SO MUCH CONFUSION?>!!>>!@#!@#!@

    Bro i feel so much pain in my lower back while doing squat and Deadlift and this problem is increasing day by day....now ni feel this pain not only doing workout but also...whenever i do anykind of work..i feel in my lower back? Is there any solution?

      Check your form brother, we don't want you to get hurt. Squats and Deadlifts are easy to do wrong, so try and perfect your form before chosing a heavier weight.

    My biggest issue my left thumbs knuckle makes and uncomfortable pop when I move too heavy and limits my pulling work.

      Form yes. Weight should still be heavy but if it’s at the expense of proper form you should drop the load

    Hi Peter. Can one build a good amount of mass using a 3 day routine? Would appreciate if you could create such a plan for sale.
