Its coming quick and fast now and we should be moving in a few short months.
The main focus on today's video is we felt it would be beneficial to share our experience on how much the upgrades cost us and break it down room by room and keep a cost total for anyone thinking of getting a new build or wondering how much certain things cost. Also we touch on some upgrades you should definitely avoid and look at doing afterwards.
Disclaimer: We do say this in the video however, the cost may differ from site to site and house type, as certain rooms will have bigger or smaller square footage which will reflect on costs.

Thank you for the video. OMG I am so looking forward to your house tour. did you upgrade your kitchen counter top to quartz or was it a laminate marble. We were going for a Western in Northwich unfortunately that has fallen through for us as we found out that the estate was built on flood plains, I loved the house so much that I would have taken the chance, but my husband is a bit risk adverse didn’t want to take the chance. Looking forward to sharing your journey.x

@@DevoVlogs Yes Rose Meadow Northwich, that was the one with the kitchen you are having. so we are moving to Warrington now, getting a Barrats home, it’s not as nice but we can make it nice.x
Oh of course yeah, I’m sure it will be very nice anyway but yeah gotta love some cheeky DIY. We felt like Rose Meadow was abit expensive tbh. Sorry just realised didn’t answer the quartz question. We decided against it for now we thought the £3.5k was too much for us at the moment as we want to buy a few new furniture instead.

Thanks Chris means a lot. Glad they’ve been helping. The wife wanted to be completely transparent if we started filming which makes sense. I could go so overboard on the options though 😂 but will be sensible like you guys. £30 upgrade to chrome lights isn’t bad but the towel rail at £500 is like wow 😳 completely agree with the bathroom upgrade 😃 does your home have Wi-Fi through out as standard, how do you find it? Bellway have been great to be honest better than we thought.
Oh easily you could go sky high on the amount of options. We have loved the towel rails but it would be cheaper after you move. Bathrooms were little or no compromise 😂😂 Wi-Fi is amazing we have BTfibre500 but it’s not standard we organised it to be set up on the week we moved. We didn’t go with the Bellway options but made our own fitted wardrobes through ikea 😜😜 your welcome matey thank you for taking the time to comment and chat 👍👍

I remember you saying that in one of your videos re ikea, is it really that much cheaper? Also who designs it with ikea, you or them and who fits. Thanks again as that’s food for thought as the quality will the the same. Hope you guys are enjoying the weekend and weather ☀️👍🏽
No worries, haha 😂 can imagine we walked around today thinking about when we walked around and there were no homes at all 😆
Ikea wise yeah we found it very cheap, with bespoke we were being quoted between £4k - £7k. Ikea so far we’ve spent about £700 designed ourselves on their wardrobe designer website page. We do have a video coming about it. Oh yessy doing a lot of gardening to try and get it ready for the summer and for the next step video. Hope your are as well 👍👍
We are about to put a reservation down on the Weston in Rainbow fields in Melling! This is a great insight. I noticed you did not talk about fridge/freezer as well as the dishwasher. Were these included?
Thanks Liam. Exciting times ahead for you then 👍👍 good question, we got lucky pretty much all our kitchen was included as incentive. The integrated fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine were all included. But our plot price was increased a lot so we think they felt sorry for us haha 😂

Thanks Hari, Glad the video helped. No charge for the paint. They painted all walls and rooms white. When we moved in we spent a few days painting a few walls to tone down how much white there was. Not sure if you request a specific colour if they would accommodate it. With our site it was standard white walls until you moved in then you can do what you like 👍👍😜

Hi, thank you for uploading all of these videos as you go through the process of buying your new house!! They are really helpful as we are looking at buying a Bellway property next year. I do have one question; from reserving your property how soon after do you pick your upgrade options and how soon before completion are you expected to pay for them ?
Hey thank you for watching. That’s very kind of you. Good luck and have fun with the new house when it comes along. We reserved in May 2021 - picked options in September and October 2021 and moved in February 2022. With paying for the options for our site it was dependant on how long it would take to order and fit them. It was approx 3/5 months from reservation to having to choose and pay. Hope that helped sorry for the long answer 👍👍😀

Afternoon Syed thanks very much, Very appreciated. We’re having a great time so far love the house. The price for all options, upgrades and flooring have to paid in advance of moving in approximately 2/3 months. Well it was for us anyway. We moved in January 2022 and paid for our upgrades October 2021 👍👍

Thanks for watching Roy much appreciated. Nah we reserved in May 2021 and didn’t end up paying for the upgrades until September. Which was good tbh gave us some time to save more money and treat ourselves with more upgrades 😂😂
Ps it’s probably worth noting that we only had until September due to how many houses were due to be built before ours. It can be sooner depending on size of development and how many houses in that phase of development. Hope that helped 👍🏻

Hey thank you for watching, you’re more than welcome. No bother at all. We had to pay for everything minus the flooring there and then. The flooring they allowed us until the end of this month to pay for it. Usually with Bellway anyway you’d pay for it all in one go. Hope that helped

Thank you Danielle, really appreciate it. I’m glad you found it useful. 😃 The kitchen worktop was free no additional cost. Not sure if that is site specific, I don’t think so when we visited other developments it was the same but not 100%. Hope you have fun at your meeting. 😃

Yes actually for once 😂. We’re filming an update video this weekend to go live next week 👍👍 then the video after that will either be the next step in the garden or a house tour. It’s been longer due to a few health issues that is still ongoing a few things that I need counselling. (Probably not going to say more than that at this time, on the counselling anyway)
Hi mate, we are in process of buying a new Bellway home and was wondering how long things took? We paid our reservation fee and were wondering how long we have to get our additions ad has to be done before the roof is put on? Thank you
Hello Adam. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. We reserved in May and it was end of September that we had to pay for all our options. End of august for tiling but everything else end of sept. This was a few weeks after the roof was on. I know it may differ from site to site depending on which supplier they use and how many sales reps you have. Hope this helps anyway. 👍👍
Hi... I am buying a 4 bed detached house... Its from Bellway... its has a garden as well... I wanted to know how much budget I should keep aside for the upgrading... its basic gold specification they are giving... but I am a bit skeptical as I want the garden turfing... Flooring and most of the available options like electric top and all wardrobes...

We kept aside £8500 but we did end up spending a little more. We are getting fitted wardrobes after we move in because it was cheaper. The most of our kitchen was included as incentive like the fridge freezer and dishwasher etc. We would’ve needed like £2000 more of we had to pay for those items. But it depends on your site as their options could be more and potentially less expensive. It’s difficult to say. We ended up going for cheaper tiles in our downstairs bathroom and family bathroom but didn’t want to save on kitchen and en-suite. 😂 I hope that helps anyway sorry if it doesn’t.

Hey Martin. Thanks for watching. It was about 2/3 months before we got our completion date. We paid for our upgrades in October and moved in end of January.

The kitchen counter was free for us. Included in the price if you will, the cabinets were a fair amount. We were going to go for quartz or granite but couldn’t say no to a free counter 😂
Thanks we just put a deposit down for the one in llay. We like the white kitchen tops but wasn't part of the package. Nevermind
Congratulations and howdy neighbour. Strange unless it’s changed since we put our deposit down and paid for our options but the kitchen counters were free it’s called marble scirocco.
