Chicago Streets & San. Autocar WX Heil PowerTrak Rear Loader Garbage Truck

I had a little time to kill in Chicago one morning so I decided to see what I could find in the area and ended up finding this WX Heil handling some pretty heavy trash in East Village. This was an interesting and difficult video to film, as there was quite literally no parking so I kept having to pull my truck up as I followed behind the crew. The alley was really tight too, which made it hard to get decent shots but despite that I think the video came out well. The crew was super cool and welcomed me filming, which was nice given that most crews in Chicago are pretty camera shy. Though it's not the most fast paced video, I’ve always liked the city’s older WX’s and the packer wasn’t too terribly slow either. I’m glad I was finally able to bring a video of one of these to my channel, and I hope you all enjoy!

I mean if they were moving any slower they’d be dead. That’s the epitome of government employees if I’ve ever seen them. The Midwest is a different world though. We run out here. The routes are like a race.

@@MidwestTrashTrucks out here we’re incentivized to finish early because we get the 8 hour wage either way and sometimes we have the opportunity to reassign, meaning being paid our 8 and starting our OT 5 hours or less into our shift. In the Midwest they don’t have the opportunity for that, the weather being just one impediment. I would say, it’s definitely less stressful out there unless the truck is sliding on ice.
