    What a Saturday morning treat.... Pretty girl in a skirt , parts picking road trip , great music, wood boat tail hot rod that gives me huge respect for a young craftsman , and finished up with new life resurrected from the old .
    Happy birthday Lady Sas from the USA

      Rat bikes are fun builds . I did one a few years back based on a steam punk theme.
      Had about everything on it but the kitchen sink . Lots of brass and copper .

    I love seeing what this guy gets up to in the workshop, I also really like it when he gives us a chance to see other enthusiasts projects, particularly when its a 22 year old guy using a Victorian lathe. Just proves that this hobby is not just for "old guys"! A great watch and great music.

    Great episode Brian. Actually I did know what you were going to use the old fuel tank for. What a brilliant idea. I am now going to try to do something similar using a bread box or the like for our glove box on the Shed Weasel. Thanks.

      I was hoping someone would ...ive been looking at bread tins on ebay and there it was in front of me, they smell great too ! what is the shed weasel????? thanks mate

    • @tompugh6917
      @tompugh6917 10 месяцев назад

      The Shed Weasel is a project my buddy and I are working on. It is based on a Triumph TR6. We are using the running gear but are fabricating our own body. It is a cross between a Lotus 7 and a Morgan. The name originates from a Blackadder quote, "It is a plan so clever you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel", and we are building it in a shed. The plan is sidetracked right now because my buddy and I are deep into restoring a 1947 MGTC. Our goal here is a good looking car from 20 feet away. We call our operation CRAP, Classic Restoration And Preservation. Cheers from the west coast of Canada. @@oakswamp

    By the way I live in a junkyard. I have about 40-50 cars pick-up trucks, and several big Simi trucks, and around 30 motorcycle and ATVs, I get a kick out of the big engines in England 750-900-1ltr . My 1972 IH cab over engine wrecker I'm currently working on has a 855 CI 2 cycle Detroit Diesel! That's about 14 ltr and the cylinders hit every time they hit top dead center, it' was rated at 318 HP
    But I built it to 450 HP 1000 lbs ft of torque "note i used the English way of saying that"?😂 Over 30 years ago it' sat in the desert for about 25-30yrs after the man I built it for died of old age, I just traded my 1947 Harry Ferguson farm tractor
    To own this one, I used a similar brew like you made for the sized 4 banger you freed up, and shot it with carb cleaner and she fired stait up first try, once running it self primed the fuel system and immediately settled into a buetiful idle, I was beside my self. So I killed it the old fashioned way, next start up
    I pegged the governor 2 times and got a face full of packrat shit out of the fan shroud, if interested hit my RUclips channel and see a couple of shorts on the old girl, as you can see I have enough projects to keep me busy way past my death 💩🤠
    I'm all alone now, my true love passed away some 19yrs ago, and I am the last living member of my family. But at age 60yrs I am back in the saddle, and depite a shit fuckin load of health problems, l decided to start back doing what makes me happy 😮 working on old ugly off the beaten path shit, doing it with no money
    Scrounging and trading for what I need!❤❤❤ 🇺🇸🇺🇸
    for it but the engine was seized, after 4hrs of prep . I got her un-stuck

    I just made a petrol tank for my Riley and used Red Kote as the sealant. I've used it on other tanks and it works really well and is ethanol proof.If you ever need to remove it it dissolves in Acetone.

    I had no idea you would even consider selling the Rat. I would honestly be curious to know what you would hope to get for it. I would love to drive that on the road, but doubt I have the deep pockets of someone with a Bentley.

    • @oakswamp
      @oakswamp  10 месяцев назад

      I am struggling to price it......the guy with the benley would likey spare no expense to keep it well and be probably pocket change to buy to him....the Rat was always a wage packet ,,,,for the hours wouldnt make minimum wage hahahah

    • @XoVoX
      @XoVoX 10 месяцев назад

      @@oakswamp I am not shocked to hear that; more shocked you are considering selling it. Had I the skillset to make something like the Rat, I doubt I would be able to sell it as it would be impossible to price. My widow would be the way it would ever get sold if it were my baby. I'm an artist and hate selling my work for much the same reason. I would sooner give it away to those close to me than to try and come up with "value" as its easy to have your time undervalued.

    Great to see a culture emerging making hot rods out of old British cars using British parts and engines. I get so bored with the usual Early American Ford/Chevy engine mixture and are like a breath of fresh air. I'd like to see a fenderless Ford Pop or similar with a Riley 2.5 liter engine out of an
    RME as it looks so good. The Leaf looks so good but that engine needs some parts - including an aircleaner - to make it look as old as the car its in.
