    Tried making this, turned out well but pastry needs to be blind baked first

    💫 Yo - I serve as the head chef on a 60-meter charter yacht, located just off the coast of Costa Rica. The host-guest challenged me to make a Bakewell tart for dinner, so I watched your banging presentation and made my first Bakewell tarts for 12 x guests and 20 x crew. 🏆 #epic #starchef #pingchannel #cheersmydears #tips

      Wow! That is incredible. I hope it went down well! I am so pleased it was of help and all the way in Costa Rica. How awesome. Take care. Happy yachting chef!

    Very nice. However, that seems like a lot of egg, flour, sugar and butter? I'm sure it tastes great but I made one from someone else's recipe using only 70g caster, 70g butter, 1 egg, 3 tbsp of plain flour and a tsp of baking power. I then added 110g Ground Almonds, half tsp almond extract and half tsp lemon extract. And I was even using a slightly bigger 23cm flan dish. It came out tasting great and more than sweet enough.
    I used your sweet shortcrust pastry recipe though , so thanks for that! I rolled it very thin but I did blind bake it which came out with a nice firm texture. I wonder now how it would have been without blind baking, as your suggestion is no need to when rolled thin.

    One of my fav desserts not sure I would use a scoop for the frangipane but I guess it's alot easier than jump dolloping the mixture and disturbing the jam lol.😊

      Hi Chrissy, you are spot on, that's exactly why i used the scoop. Thank you for watching and your comment.

    Does the pastry not get soggy if you don't blind bake and seal it first?

    • @AnnaCarterLittleLizardKitchen
      @AnnaCarterLittleLizardKitchen  2 года назад

      Hiya, the key is to get the pastry as thin a possible. Literally 2 mm. If in doubt of course you can do a blind bake. Hope that helps.

    Quit watching very early on. Why are so many good videos ruined with unappealing music? Going back to the many other recipes which have SPOKEN directions. If i want to read, i have many good books.

      You complain as though you are paying a subscription fee. These videos are free and people take time out to put them together. If you don't like them, why not just move on and keep your thoughts to yourself rather than unnecessarily make childish silly points on them? Press mute if you don't like the music and the recipe is outlined clearly. Nothing else is required.
