Cheers for the video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you researched - Dinanlinson Rocky Position Approach (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for learning how to fix chronic knee pain without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my old buddy Taylor finally got amazing results with it.
i am currently reviewing for an exam and your videos are a big help. I just want to express my gratitude. Thank you for taking time to create informative clips.
The treatment is usually ice, NSAIDS, decreased physical activity, crutches, bracing, therapy. If it is an isolated injury, surgery is usually not needed. However, when there is associated injuries with other ligaments, surgery may be needed to prevent future instability. Always consult your doctor before you make decisions for your medical care.
I was in your office today, just wanted to say thank you again for everything that you have done to help my with my knee injuries. These videos are excellent and very informative, keep up the good work, - Amanda (Right knee microfracture).
I had torn my quadracept ligament in feb and have been slowly healing and came across your video today just looking for more info. I wanted to let you know I enjoyed all the information you gave, thank you.
It is not appropriate to diagnose or treat over the internet. If you can make it to Toledo, OH, schedule and appointment and I will examine your issue.
@carrotpick It sounds like you are describing an injury to the medial collateral ligament of the knee. This injury may require bracing and sometimes even surgery, you should be examined by an orthopaedic surgeon. make sure you check your ligaments and the knee cap
You probably need to see an Orthopedic surgeon for an examination. It could be arthritis, ligaments, really anything. Without an examination and possible studies it is hard to tell.
Today, I went into hospital for knee surgery. When I awoke, I was surprised to find a bandage wrapped around my throbbing head. The nurse explained that a student observer had fainted in the operating room and his head had smashed against mine on the way down.
I'd been suffering with bad knee pain for about 2 weeks, coming from the back of my knee & partly above & below my knee at the rear of it. I put it down to a strain on the hamstring, but it was really painful for a while in the mornings.i work manually & found one morning i was like a spectator on the job as I was working on hill like ground. However I was working on a few home projects over the following week & the pain in the area wasn't getting any better. I was getting into my car a few days later & i felt a crack like noise coming from my knee & instantly my knee gave in, I found it extremely hard to try & stand & bare weight, it took me about 15 minutes to get back into my home because of the extreme pain. I'm using crutches for the past 2 days, I realize I'll have to get to my doctor to get a proper diagnoses. This video has been a great help to understanding the injury I may have. Thank you for the information guys!
Very informative video! I am a regular adventurer. Or at least, I used to be. Recently, I received a puncturing injury to my right knee due to an accident involving a misfired arrow. I'm able to walk on it and the pain is subsiding on some occasions with proper medication and less lollygagging, but my job has been affected as I am forced into guard duty while my cousin, whose knee is still perfectly intact, is out fighting dragons.
Thanks for this very informative video. I am a regular badminton player. Recently, I am getting knee ache on my left knee. Typically, it pains a lot in the beginning of games and after a while it goes away. Also i notice pain when I climb stairs. Normal walking is fine. Your advice is much appreciated.
Twisted my left knee in high speed skiing fall. Was able to stand, hold my weight on the left leg alone. Skied back, able to walk, no swelling, no bruising, could bend the slowly knee and walk. Hour later very stiff, very tender and sensitive just on the top, left inside of knee, feels like a bad bruise. Went to hospital for xrays, no breaks or tears doc just said take it easy. Its week later and still soar, stiff tender when changing from bent to upright position. But get around, light workouts.
Great information video, best one on here. can i had a bad injury with out any swelling? how often the MRI fails? Becouse the MRI results says everything was intact but for 6 months I couldn't strech out my leg due to a twisted knee pain it was lock, I walk better now but I still have some pain and feel scare to run or kick. What could be? Thanks again for this great video!
This would be better if you included as much detail into the LCL/MCL injury - I would really like to have seen a live video showing the test and/or injury like you did for the ACL/PCL.
Great video! I messed up my ankle & knee in a sparring match for TKD. Docs said 3-6 months before I reach pre injury strength with my damaged ligaments but it is REALLY painful at times. I'm seeing progress with my ankle strength but not so much my knee which is so annoying. Glad this can help me figure what new exercises I might wanna try though.
dear Dr.Nabil greetings from greece... i had i bike accident about 10 days ago where my bike fel on my left knee! and the knee got swollen on the back of the knee mostly the inner side of the back knee. but as the days goes by i feel a small improvment every day! and i can walk better now should i stay at homme and try to get better or should i go to the doctor and do you think the problem is serious???
I ruptured my LCL and the doctor was afraid of a meniscal tear. Sent me for x rays and referred me to an orthopaedic surgeon. X rays revealed I also had a small tibia fracture. The doctors big medical test was to ask me to do a squat. I could do one, but in a lot of pain. Then he said there was probably nothing wrong, and didn’t want to do an mri because it costs the government too much money. That’s the beauty of Canadian healthcare; the doctors get paid no matter what so they don’t want to do their jobs anymore.
I got an injury two years ago while I was doing a flip l landed badly and my knee went back 🔙 after recovering l had seen my knee swelling and becoming a knocked knee and shorter than the other and not relaxing . Thanks Dr. I wish you will reply me.
At time 5:29, can you please explain that we are viewing is the right knee, and at 5:42 that we are viewing TWO *right* knees seen side by side. Explanation could be in the form of marking the pictures, and also stating the facts in the audio track. Thanks!

i tore mine at 15, in october of 2012.. i made a full recovery and i am playing sports like i used to however i am in a donjoy brace until october, to get back to the level you used to be at you have to work really hard, hit the hamstrings and you will be surprised how much better it feels when you work your hammys, if you live in the northeast ohio area, there is a place i train that got me back in a matter of weeks
Great video. Thanks Doc! But why does the audio sound like you're flying a plane and speaking over a headset. If you are giving this lecture while flying a plane that is BOSS!
i need help on a Tore Patella , ACL and TCL. if you tear those can you ran as fast as you were before and be good as you were before? and what kind of exercise or trainer do have to do? (please don't judge me i'm just trying to know and thank you for who ever is trying to help me)
@TheRico915 Hey, I got the same injury as you a week ago by playing basketball. The first week I rested the knee and stayed home. I went out to play basketball. When I began playing basketball the first 30 seconds i felt completely normal, but suddenly my knee failed me. I felt the same pain as the first time I got ACL. Then I went to the doctor and he said I couldn't play for 3 months. I would recommend you not to play on saterday, but rather see a doctor. Good Luck
I injured my knee (terrible impact on outside of left knee) in 2007 while playing football. As at today, i hear a popping sound anytime i am stretching my leg from a 90 degrees position. The pop is usually at about the 105 degree. My doctor performed some tests and concluded that my case wasnt that bad so i could do some mild training like riding a bike or swimming. Recently, i tried resuming football after lots of knee exercises however i lost control of my knee, resulting in pain.Any ideas ?
Just partially broken ACL and LCL , weird thing is that I only heard a crack but no pain. I hope to recover as soon as possible and go back climbing =/
last Friday night I when to a metal concert and got into a mosh pit and felt on my knee really hard which I had to be lifted up by some ramdom which was very nice of them doing for me because I need help up. it gonna be one week and I thought the pain was going to go away but still hurting like crazy. the video scared me but I needed answers and i got them which im afraid still because I know it gonna be painful when I see a doctor. thank you for the video and I found my answer, now I need to really go see a doctor for my right knee.

Hi Mr. Nabil. :) I need some help. I can't seem to find anything online regarding this. I feel pain at the area all the way behind my knee. The pain is not behind the knee cap but it feels as if the muscles behind my leg are painful when i straighten my leg. A doctor told me it was a ligament sprain but from this video, the ligaments only seem to be at the front and at the sides. Not all the way at the back. Can you please explain the reason for the pain if possible? Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi there Nabil, thanks for this helpful video, i was wondering if you could help me. i played football earlier and landed full force on one of my legs, as i did so my knee joint locked straight and all my weight went onto it and i heard a loud clicking sound. i stopped running straight after and a few hours later there is a dull pain inside the front outside area of the knee. could you shed some light as to what i might have done so that i can get the appropriate treatment, thankyou very much
Dr. Nabil, can locking of the knee occur with an MCL and ACL tear/sprain, or does that only occur with meniscal tears? Asking simply because I wish to have more of an idea as to what kind of knee injury I might possibly have. Thank you!
Hello, my doctor said that i have a sprain in ACL and Mencsuis degenration or inflammation?i am currently doing Physio THerapy and eating arcoxia or something like that. what are my chances of getting back to my normal self?
GREAT VIDEO...HELPED A LOT! Hey Doc, I hurt what I think is my Patellar tendon, I don't have insurance now, so what can I do on my own to help with the healing process. The pain is concentrated right below my knee cap, and I can not lift my leg while laying down with out severe pain. I'm icing it but so far no good.. I had surgery on my other knee (ACL/meniscus) several years back. Please help and thank you.
I had a basketball accident when I was going for a dunk my friend tried to block it and we collided knees I got the worst of it hurts really bad and I can hardly walk I'll see if this helps

It depends on what is shown on the MRI. You should have a better idea of your treatment plan after the scan and your doctor see's the results.
as an orthopedic student , i always watch your videos before i study , i dont think thanks is enough
I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I learned the anatomy of the knee.

It depends on your definition of locking. Locking typically occurs from meniscus tear.

@nabilebraheim,
The Doc said that since i gained weight from 110 to 160 over the corse of 8 months, that during the breaks with no running, my Muscles didn't not catch up.
So in order to get back into a balanced body, i'll be doing high reps of low weights for LEG EXTENSIONS 2 a day
Now I know why my knew hurts a lot and it's all because of the cruciate ligament
Question- what must I do to take the pain away?
@1Nekit1 hope you will be ok
Hi Mr. Nabil. :)
I need some help.
Thank you!
Tests to determine meniscal injuries?
