The concept of learning "how to think" rather than just "what to think" is something that should be embraced. It's about fostering the ability to reason and make decisions for oneself. This isn't a divisive point-it's a positive message that encourages personal growth and the pursuit of knowledge.
I homeschooled my 2 children for some of their elementary school years (started out in public school, but my first child was reading at an 8th grade level at kindergarten age, and was also several years ahead in math- our school had zero idea on how to make his time in school appropriate to his educational level). It was during that time that I realized that knowing “how” to learn (think) is more important than learning a specific thing (memorizing historical dates for example). Having critical thinking skills should be the most important aspect of schooling, but it seems as if many schools (not all) almost train kids to NOT be able to think critically.
Unfortunately the higher ups don’t want critical thinking taught or even discussed. They want Sheeple to just plod along and get dumber and dumber. No one questioning anything and the world population allowing this unstoppable conditioning.

I’m 64 and just found this guy a few weeks because of a viral video. I use to be that patient!! What a refreshing channel! And the poster is right don’t apologize you are getting a large backing because of your content. I assume most won’t agree with everything but will always agree with his delivery. One critique, get more mics or better mics. Keep up the conversation.
Of course this was going to happen. This was inevitable. The terminally insulted are going to dive on anything which critically analyses their dreadful argumentation.
Just want to mention, they aren't genuinely insulted, actually. These people that make up "the mob" aren't just wimpy, delicate snowflakes, with big "fee-fees". Most are cynical agent provocateurs, trying to push an authoritarian movement that they hope to gain from. In addition to those arguing in bad faith, a pretty big chunk of them are simply easily influenced fools who desire to "fit in" with a crowd and don't want to be rejected. So they jump to the defense of the hypothetical "victim" (many of which do not, in reality, feel offended!), and therefore only ACTUALLY help the lying cynics. They're like the stereotypical villain sidekick, who joins up with said villain for cowardly reasons; Hoping to avoid the abuse by helping perpetrate it. They're the proverbial "torch and pitchfork" carrying mob that get carried away by mob mentality, because they tried out feeding that base, animalistic desire for hatred and violence, and it felt pleasant. Much more pleasant than calming down and engaging in reason. For some, simply soothing their feelings of anxiety and fear by being on the side of the aggressor is a good enough reward. This tactic of stirring up the "umbrage mob", is one that cults and authoritarian movements love to use. It's actually called a "struggle session", and the ONLY way to get through it is by sticking to truth and enduring. So, the answer is still the same. But I know that, for me, learning about the mechanisms behind this, and how it's not actually hurting people's feelings by saying factual truth, has really helped me maintain my composure and not let what "the mob" says get to me. The struggle session is most often not even about the target changing their mind, or repenting, but is instead a performative act, put on for the benefit of those watching, with the goal of influencing more of those people to their side, via weaponizing and hijacking empathy, while also terrorizing those same people ("See what happens if you fall outta line? You better do what we say, or else this will be you!") It's not at all about ACTUAL hurt feelings. Thankfully, right now the "struggle sessions" are only about trying to destroy reputations and careers and not someone's literal heartbeat directly, through literal, physical violent force. A typical struggle session in a full blown, late stage authoritarian movement usually involves actual lynch mobs or violence against a prisoner by other prisoners, thereby eliminating those who refuse to "convert", and strengthening the mental hold on those who give in and join in the violence. However, if us reasonable people do not stop this cult's infectious mass hysteria, it WILL become that awful, more violent version.

Fun Fact: Critical thinking or "Logic" is part of the Trivium (Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric) which is also known as the "liberal arts". It is called the liberal arts because these 3 things are considered fundamental for a person to be free. However, the public education system (in almost all developed countries including the U.S.) is a "Prussian" based education system, which deliberately removes the Trivium from the curriculum. It did this to ready youth for the industrial revolution, and also make them more compliant to authority figures (bosses, chain of command, etc). The opposite method of teaching that was exemplified in this teacher's viral video is called the Socratic method, and teaches it's students *_how to think_* , instead of *_what to think._*
@@isaklytting5795 Everything I've read on the subject says it was developed in Prussia in the late 18th and early 19th century. I'm not sure what you mean by _"origin of the abolition of this way of education"_ as it is not abolished, but instead is currently the de-facto form of education in developed countries around the world (I am not sure of the standards of non-developed countries). Prussian based education is still prevalent when reaching college, though you're likely to start seeing more of the "Socratic" method at that level of education, particularly in classes such as philosophy. Unfortunately, this is late in the mental development cycle and much of the damage of the Prussian based education system is already done. On an interesting side note, After WWII, psychologist Stanley Milgram did a number of experiments that have become known as the "Milgram experiments", which were designed to measure a person's willingness to obey authority even when their conscious would tell them not to. He created the experiments purportedly because he wanted to understand why such a great number of Germans joined in committing atrocities during WWII. When you understand how the Prussian based education system is designed to make people more compliant to authority, as well as the results of his experiments... it all fits, though I don't know that he made this correlation himself. If you're interested in this subject matter, I highly recommend reading up on Prussian based education systems (good books by John Taylor Gatto), Look into the Milgram experiments (kinda scary when you realize the numbers are still relevant today), Watch a movie called "The Wave" (based on a true story about American High School teacher students learn how easy it is to be inducted by the same social forces that lead to German's role in WWII). On the flip side of things, There's an excellent and rare teacher who teaches (Sociology?) at Penn State University, and does a great job exemplifying the Socratic method. You can find video recordings of his classes on RUclips channel "SOC115".

The problem with your videos is not the style, length or any other thing YOU could do better, because there is NOTHING that would be sufficient to cleanse the sin of debunking a myth so strong and dearly held. Im a writer whose editor hounded him out of a job. I referred to an Asian character in a story outline as oriental. She called me racist. I apologized because i didnt realise that word is considered offensive, but she refused my apology and started ripping apart my work, calling me a hack and a right wing supremacist with a hidden agenda. In the end she ruined my psychological health and i quit because i dreaded every day going to work. Someone (her or her supporters) replaced my profile picture on the writer system with a picture of Musolini at one point. That really hurt because my grandfather lost the best years of his life fighting the fascists and nazis in the Mediterranean and Africa. Another Canuck and I am a former academic (taught for over two decades and retired last year). So, I am very familiar with the type of people you are dealing with. It is amazing how the people who are running around the halls of academia yelling the word 'diversity' have no actual clue what the words mean. They are trying to intimidate you and force you to take down your videos and otherwise shut up. As wiseonwords said, the worst thing to do is apologize and give into the mob. Realize that the mob is a lot smaller than we often perceive (especially when they need to resort to bots) and also realize that for every YT commentator or student who voices their support for you, there will be 100 more who simply don't feel brave enough to say it out loud. More people are on your side that might appear.

Oh there must be a reckoning in the field of “psychology.” It’s a major source of the problem: Ideologues masquerading as professionals/experts and betraying trust in their authority in order to push ideological narratives. Just like doctors and pharmaceutical companies have been (somewhat, but not nearly enough) held accountable for the opiate epidemic. Psychology has a real problem on its hands. It’s by their blessing and activism that many things are being perpetuated. They should be first against the wall.(metaphorically speaking) At least that’s how I feel about it.

This is reflected in Congress where if a politician on either side even attempts to compromise to come up with a reasonable, practical solution to a real problem, that person is immediately deemed suspect and worthy of being challenged in the next primary. Based on what little I know, Warren doesn’t want to argue back; he points out the argumentative flaws and failures of logic that invalidate the things they say. The concept of learning "how to think" rather than just "what to think" is something that should be embraced. It's about fostering the ability to reason and make decisions for oneself. This isn't a divisive point-it's a positive message that encourages personal growth and the pursuit of knowledge.
I homeschooled my 2 children for some of their elementary school years (started out in public school, but my first child was reading at an 8th grade level at kindergarten age, and was also several years ahead in math- our school had zero idea on how to make his time in school appropriate to his educational level). It was during that time that I realized that knowing “how” to learn (think) is more important than learning a specific thing (memorizing historical dates for example). Having critical thinking skills should be the most important aspect of schooling, but it seems as if many schools (not all) almost train kids to NOT be able to think critically.
Unfortunately the higher ups don’t want critical thinking taught or even discussed. They want Sheeple to just plod along and get dumber and dumber. No one questioning anything and the world population allowing this unstoppable conditioning.

Just want to mention, they aren't genuinely insulted, actually. These people that make up "the mob" aren't just wimpy, delicate snowflakes, with big "fee-fees".
Most are cynical agent provocateurs, trying to push an authoritarian movement that they hope to gain from.
In addition to those arguing in bad faith, a pretty big chunk of them are simply easily influenced fools who desire to "fit in" with a crowd and don't want to be rejected. So they jump to the defense of the hypothetical "victim" (many of which do not, in reality, feel offended!), and therefore only ACTUALLY help the lying cynics.
They're like the stereotypical villain sidekick, who joins up with said villain for cowardly reasons; Hoping to avoid the abuse by helping perpetrate it.
They're the proverbial "torch and pitchfork" carrying mob that get carried away by mob mentality, because they tried out feeding that base, animalistic desire for hatred and violence, and it felt pleasant. Much more pleasant than calming down and engaging in reason.
For some, simply soothing their feelings of anxiety and fear by being on the side of the aggressor is a good enough reward.
This tactic of stirring up the "umbrage mob", is one that cults and authoritarian movements love to use. It's actually called a "struggle session", and the ONLY way to get through it is by sticking to truth and enduring. So, the answer is still the same. But I know that, for me, learning about the mechanisms behind this, and how it's not actually hurting people's feelings by saying factual truth, has really helped me maintain my composure and not let what "the mob" says get to me.
The struggle session is most often not even about the target changing their mind, or repenting, but is instead a performative act, put on for the benefit of those watching, with the goal of influencing more of those people to their side, via weaponizing and hijacking empathy, while also terrorizing those same people ("See what happens if you fall outta line? You better do what we say, or else this will be you!")
It's not at all about ACTUAL hurt feelings.
Thankfully, right now the "struggle sessions" are only about trying to destroy reputations and careers and not someone's literal heartbeat directly, through literal, physical violent force.
A typical struggle session in a full blown, late stage authoritarian movement usually involves actual lynch mobs or violence against a prisoner by other prisoners, thereby eliminating those who refuse to "convert", and strengthening the mental hold on those who give in and join in the violence.
However, if us reasonable people do not stop this cult's infectious mass hysteria, it WILL become that awful, more violent version.

Critical thinking is the most dangerous concept to the status quo. It is teaching men to fish vs giving out free fish. It can change a persons life forever, and by extension, a whole society.
Fun Fact: Critical thinking or "Logic" is part of the Trivium (Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric) which is also known as the "liberal arts". It is called the liberal arts because these 3 things are considered fundamental for a person to be free. However, the public education system (in almost all developed countries including the U.S.) is a "Prussian" based education system, which deliberately removes the Trivium from the curriculum. It did this to ready youth for the industrial revolution, and also make them more compliant to authority figures (bosses, chain of command, etc).
The opposite method of teaching that was exemplified in this teacher's viral video is called the Socratic method, and teaches it's students *_how to think_* , instead of *_what to think._*

@@isaklytting5795 Everything I've read on the subject says it was developed in Prussia in the late 18th and early 19th century. I'm not sure what you mean by _"origin of the abolition of this way of education"_ as it is not abolished, but instead is currently the de-facto form of education in developed countries around the world (I am not sure of the standards of non-developed countries).
Prussian based education is still prevalent when reaching college, though you're likely to start seeing more of the "Socratic" method at that level of education, particularly in classes such as philosophy. Unfortunately, this is late in the mental development cycle and much of the damage of the Prussian based education system is already done.
On an interesting side note, After WWII, psychologist Stanley Milgram did a number of experiments that have become known as the "Milgram experiments", which were designed to measure a person's willingness to obey authority even when their conscious would tell them not to.
He created the experiments purportedly because he wanted to understand why such a great number of Germans joined in committing atrocities during WWII. When you understand how the Prussian based education system is designed to make people more compliant to authority, as well as the results of his experiments... it all fits, though I don't know that he made this correlation himself.
If you're interested in this subject matter, I highly recommend reading up on Prussian based education systems (good books by John Taylor Gatto), Look into the Milgram experiments (kinda scary when you realize the numbers are still relevant today), Watch a movie called "The Wave" (based on a true story about American High School teacher students learn how easy it is to be inducted by the same social forces that lead to German's role in WWII).
On the flip side of things, There's an excellent and rare teacher who teaches (Sociology?) at Penn State University, and does a great job exemplifying the Socratic method. You can find video recordings of his classes on RUclips channel "SOC115".
As we are seeing in America the government doesn't want capable thinking citizens. To continue your analogy the government doesn't want people to know how to fish. Then people have to depend on the government for their fish. It's all about power. Getting it and keeping it.

Hey, as a teacher myself I was so awestruck by how casually you were able to make the student think for himself. The problem with your videos is not the style, length or any other thing YOU could do better, because there is NOTHING that would be sufficient to cleanse the sin of debunking a myth so strong and dearly held. Many people trolling you are not interested in arguements, facts or even truth itself, they will just throw their spite and anger at you because it will make them feel better.

Im a writer whose editor hounded him out of a job. I referred to an Asian character in a story outline as oriental. She called me racist. I apologized because i didnt realise that word is considered offensive, but she refused my apology and started ripping apart my work, calling me a hack and a right wing supremacist with a hidden agenda. In the end she ruined my psychological health and i quit because i dreaded every day going to work. Someone (her or her supporters) replaced my profile picture on the writer system with a picture of Musolini at one point. That really hurt because my grandfather lost the best years of his life fighting the fascists and nazis in the Mediterranean and Africa.
It brought home for me how nasty these people are and completely turned me away from the left.

Another Canuck and I am a former academic (taught for over two decades and retired last year). So, I am very familiar with the type of people you are dealing with. It is amazing how the people who are running around the halls of academia yelling the word 'diversity' have no actual clue what the words mean. They are trying to intimidate you and force you to take down your videos and otherwise shut up. As wiseonwords said, the worst thing to do is apologize and give into the mob. Realize that the mob is a lot smaller than we often perceive (especially when they need to resort to bots) and also realize that for every YT commentator or student who voices their support for you, there will be 100 more who simply don't feel brave enough to say it out loud. More people are on your side that might appear.

Oh there must be a reckoning in the field of “psychology.” It’s a major source of the problem: Ideologues masquerading as professionals/experts and betraying trust in their authority in order to push ideological narratives. Just like doctors and pharmaceutical companies have been (somewhat, but not nearly enough) held accountable for the opiate epidemic. Psychology has a real problem on its hands. It’s by their blessing and activism that many things are being perpetuated.

I subscribed...and I'll tell you why. I saw the video where you debated the student on the merits of J K Rowling's work in contrast to her political views. I've always wanted to be able to teach my kids how to think more deeply and be better debaters but didn't know how, and your video helped me a little with that. I want to live in a world where people are not only able to think for themselves, but are permitted to do so, and not harassed or cancelled bc their views are different to someone else's. I feel like there is a difference between these extremists and actual Democrat voters. Unfortunately, being around the extremists online constantly by being in writing groups has made me leave what little leftist beliefs I had. I’m still more of a centrist in actuality when you look at me just on the basis of my views, but I just cannot bring myself to vote Democrat or support the party in any way when these extremists are not addressed-and in many cases, applauded.
Yes, and many far-right accounts here and on X are just as intolerant and dismissive. Those furthering the polarization in our country are trying to cut out the wide swath of reasonable, respectful debate and disagreement I would say a majority of Americans support in favor of sweeping generalizations which only acknowledge one perspective. This is reflected in Congress where if a politician on either side even attempts to compromise to come up with a reasonable, practical solution to a real problem, that person is immediately deemed suspect and worthy of being challenged in the next primary. It's sick-making that this is what we've now come to in this country.

Not everyone critical of how that video was structured disagrees with his overall message. I find it a bit disappointing, but that's all there is to it. I thought it could have done a better job at dismantling that stupid Contra video.

Based on what little I know, Warren doesn’t want to argue back; he points out the argumentative flaws and failures of logic that invalidate the things they say.
There’s nothing to argue against when you reveal that they don’t even have a firm stance to begin with, and that whatever ideas they DO have are inconsistent at best.

I came away relatively unscathed, due to some old school teachers I didn't appreciate at the time, but do now. Tremendously so. Hang in there. One thing I've learned is that extremism and fascist ideology has one fatal flaw: It doesn't last. It will end. And the ones on the opposing side will be on the right side of history. Stay strong. you underestimate North American puritanism/fanaticism. Extremism lasts by shifting form and pendulating from left to right in the American society. The same people who push far left ideology now would have hunted "communists" under McCarthy and witches in Salem in 1692. The drive that transcends any political affiliation or creed can be surmised as "when you are convinced you are right, you have the moral obligation to impose your views on anyone who contradicts you convinced they are right".

Warren, you are the most mild, calm, unoffensive person I've ever seen. You've done nothing wrong, and I've been stunned watching your videos, seeing how..... unintelligent and herdlike people can be sometimes. I don't know of children who obsess over petty things like some of these people do. It baffles my mind. The people coming after you NEED to be offended. They NEED revenge. They NEED blood so to speak. It's very alarming.
Between the pettiness and needing things explained to them like little children, and the absolute need to knock someone down over something, it's actually pretty frightening. I shudder to think what humanity would be like if people like this got in full control of the world. Oh, whoops, I think I'm seeing it. These people have no idea just how brainwashed they've become.

People need to think logically, but certain groups think logic is "Racist." An apology would be the same has admitting guilt to their claims.
