I made it today with pumpkin. Turned out beautiful and delicious. I failed in my dough during 1st attempt coz I over beat in mixer. Trick is to remove and use hand to knead when butter is incorporated. This way u will be able to get window pane effect. Purée needs to be refrigerated for easier roll. I brushed egg yolk prior to baking but didn’t use icing sugar. It was a beautiful recipe. Thank you Apron!!
I love that this doesn't require eggs! I made this vegan by replacing the milk and cream with oat milk and replacing the dairy butter with plant butter. It came out very lightly sweet, I also added a little extra sugar to the bread and the filing. I also rolled it in sugar like a malasada! It was a fun recipe and my family said it was tasty and pretty too

She divides it into 8 portions; each ball of potato purée weighs about 20g. Then she rolls each ball out into a long stick in her hands and puts it in a flattened, rolled-out piece of white dough so the potato purée is encased in the white dough. Then she uses a roller to cut 5 strips in this flattened dough so they will reveal the purple potato puree peeking out of the white dough.
These look great. I just watched the entire video just to see the twerling technique. If I ever have time then I'll try this with regular sweet potato as I haven't seen the purple one sold here in Estonia.

marevel lacreo it happened to my first dough. Take dough out and don’t over beat using mixer. Instead use hands to knead.

I spend half of it only... 20x8 =160g; donno why need to have 300 g
@@gloriang5127 I think 300g is the weight of the raw/unpeeled sweet potatoes to give enough of potato puree to make 8 x 20g balls.
