Very much liked how you omitted the descriptions during the video. 100% agree it takes away from the experience just a little bit when such things are revealed. A nice Concientious touch.
Just got this game and was very confused reading the rule book.. then I stumbled upon your tutorial video here... and let me tell you it helped immensely. Really appreciate your very well spoken and straightforward 'learn to play' video. Top notch.
Thanks so much. Hope you have a great time with the game;)
I'm always happy to see when a game I want to learn has been covered by you! My Too Many Bones set came a couple days ago, and I look forward to learning it through your video!
Thanks so much, Too Many Bones is a great game you will have fun with it;)
I played this with my brother when it first came out, it's been on the shelf for a long time. We are getting ready to play again, and this video is so helpful for refreshing my memory. You just got yourself a new subscriber! Thank you for your hard work
Thanks so much for the sub and for leaving a comment. It is great to hear that my videos are being used as refreshers as well as for those just getting in to it.
Great video. I've come back to this a couple times now as a refresher.
Thanks so glad to hear it was helpful I will be following it up soon with a couple of expansions for the game. Thanks for watching and posting;)
This was very useful. I have played one session online with friends and was completely lost. This helped me at least get to the point that I have a reasonable understanding of how the play cycle goes. Thanks.
That's wonderful, Thanks for watching and posting. I hope you enjoy the game;)
When my copy of the game arrived, I went looking for a video to learn how to play and I found yours. Thanks so much for doing this. The order of presenting the info really worked for me and I will be diving into my first game. I can see this is going to be my kind of game!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching and welcome to the world of Daelore. I am planning on doing some more coverage of Too Many Bones in the future as well.
This was super helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!
Thanks for watching and commenting it is great hearing my videos are helpful;)
Just got the entire Too Many Bones collection. I'm excited to learn to play!
It is so much fun. I am hoping to have another video covering Undertow soon as well. Congrats on the purchase and thanks for watching and posting;)
Thanks so much for this video! I’ve just lucked into getting a copy of this so excited to know how to play when it arrives. And this overview of the rules helps tremendously. :)
Thanks it is such a good game. I hope you have a ton of fun with it;)
I picked this game up at Gen Con 2018. Than you for the video. I appreciated your instruction, for a some what complex game. Nice flow to the instruction and good pacing.
Thanks for posting. This was a fun game to work on and I am planning some additional content for some of the expansions and other games CTG is making.
Thanks for the well paced and composed video, very helpful to figuring the game out!
Your welcome, thanks for the feedback and for watching. Hope you have fun with the game;)
Great video for a game that has a steep learning curve. You helped clear up some problems I was facing. Thx!
Thanks, this was a challenging video to make and I was hoping it would help people to understand the game better.
Thank you for making this video. Your introduction to the game and your style of teaching, is the best on RUclips for learning complicated games like TMB.
There is a Kickstarter game nearing delivery called Merchants Cove. It also has the players playing completely different roles. I am hoping that you will be doing a video on that. It’s one of those big complicated games (like Detective, City of Angels, a big Kickstarter game that is just collecting dust on my shelf).
Wow, thanks! I have not heard of Merchants Cove, but will check it out and see what I can do. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion.
Awesome video. I backed the last kickstarter for the expansion and base game. The more I watch about this game the more I want to play.
it has a hard learning curve but once you have it down it is a great game. I would like to do some more coverage of this game at some point. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Just started investing in this game and I am loving every minute of it. Watched a couple play throughs and just knew I had to have it in my collection. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and for posting. I will have a play through video going up in a couple of days for Too Many Bones Undertow as well.
@@LearntoPlayGames Great, I will definitely catch it.
Awesome job! This helps a lot! Just picked it up and can't wait to play! Thanks for the help! :D
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching and posting just got some new stuff of it as well so I will have more coverage coming in the future.
Wow, this tutorial was great! I’m brand new to TMB and this was very helpful, thanks! I reading about the Gearlocs, I’m thinking that Ghillie and Nugget sound more like the kinds of characters my wife and I like to use so we did pick them up along with the base game. Would they be tough to use as rookies? And would that pair be ok to use together? I wasn’t sure if we would need a character that was more of a “tank” in order to survive…
Thanks for a clear and concise HTP video, very well done.
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching and posting I am hoping to do more coverage soon. Love this game;)
Good stuff, I'm playing tonight for the first time and I got to watch this on my lunch break. Now I can explain it to my party!
Such a cool game, hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching and posting;)
When the battle is over, do the die placed in the locked area return to the Gearloc pad? (Like with Boomer, do die 1 thru 3 return to the 1 thru 3 spots on the pad?
You explain everything very clearly. Thumbs up
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and posting;)
My copy just arrived today, so thanks for making this video!
Welcome to the world of Daelore, may your dice roll in your favor. Thanks for watching and posting have fun;)
Wonderful video! Helped me immensely. Keep it up!

Wow! great video!
Awesome, love your vidéo and you explained it very well!
Thanks so much!
Just ordered a bunch TMB stuff for the first time! Great video thx
Your welcome, Hope you have a great time with them.
Very good video, deserves a lot more views and comments! I am about to play undertow so I hope its not too different from the first game :)
Thanks so much for your kind words, and good luck with undertow I think it is basically the same with different characters and some updates will hopefully be doing a followup for this soon.
very helpfull video, thanks again, I subscribed to your channel. I hope you keep motivated to keep making videos like these
Thanks so much for the sub and for watching. I am trying to stay motivated and all these wonderful comments helps so much.
Thanks so much! This was an excellent tutorial.
You're very welcome! Hope you have a great time with the game. Who is your favorite character so far?
Nicely done. I subscribed.👍
Thanks
Great Video.
You should do one on all the different baddie effects/backup plans.
Also gearloc strategies.
Or just a playthrough.
Anyways thanks for the well done video.
Really good explaining. Congrats
Thanks so much;)
Great video. Thank you!
You are welcome!
THANK you ,very helpful guide.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and posting;)
Too Many Good Teaching Videos from you!
Love it;) thanks for watching and posting.
Thank you so much for this!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and posting. Hope you enjoy the game;)
Really looking forward to you doing a video breaking down all the gearlocks, and how they work individually. This video was very helpful.
Thanks so much, I will be talking with them at Gen-con this week.
good video. very helpful. Thanks a lot.
Glad it was helpful! Hope you have a great time with the game.
Nice!! Thank you!
Thanks for watching and commenting;)
Great video. Thank you
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and posting will be working on some new coverage soon;)
Just got this game, and I don't know if the rules changed between editions or not, but the way you describe defense increases working is not what I have in my rules. You make defense increases much more difficult.
You are correct I missed that and assumed it worked the same as attack increases. Thanks for watching and catching that I will add a note in the description as well.
49:47 Small correction, you cannot move after attacking (even if you have leftover Dex)
thanks, was not sure on that point.
Would be cool if this video had time stamps. Nice job 👍
Hey, Lance! Out of curiosity, are you planning to back Unbreakable? Hope you’ve been good!
Thanks I am doing good very busy;) Yes I am planning on backing Unbreakable. I will hopefully have more Too Many Bones coverage soon just got the Rat Pack, Splice and Dice and one other new character so will be covering that and maybe a play through as well;)
@@LearntoPlayGames glad to know you’re doing well!
What’s the reason for facing a baddie in the baddie selection?
Great video as always !
The singular of “dice” is “die,” not “dice.” I only mention thus because listening to you call a single due “a dice” make me want to pierce my eardrums. :-). Other than that and the rule error, great video!
Thanks for the feedback I am trying to be more aware of my use of the dice word not sure why I do it but I am trying in my later videos to correct that. Thanks for watching;)
Hello. When rerolling a failed defense training you only reroll the bones, not the whole dicepool.
You are correct I messed this up and assumed it worked the same a attack increases. Thanks for pointing this out and I will be adding a note in the description on this point.
Learn to Play Games guess fixing this error wasn’t that important? There’s links in your description to sell stuff, but no notice in the description about rules you messed up?
Tutorial starts @7:23

Thanks for the video
Hello, @47.49 the defends die disappears from Boomer, is that normal? Doesn't he keep it?
Sorry for the late reply, I am pretty sure he would that was one of the things I believe I made a mistake on in the video. Thanks for watching and commenting. Who is for favorite character to play in Too Many Bones?
@@LearntoPlayGames saw that too ... So what is the answer ? Does he keep it ? Thanks
Bank your for that ! I'm going to play my firs round now
Thanks for watching and posting. Hope you have a great time with the game.😉
Super expensive game. Im glad you are reviewing in before i sink 2 bills
Thanks, Did you end up picking it up why or why not?
Ouch, after about 6 games, I just noticed that we can keep locked dice in slots after a successful Battle. I was rerolling after each Encounter. Ah well, at least I survived a couple of times :)
Ya some of the rules with TMB are a little unclear I think I was having problems with that as well when I was learning it. Thanks for watching and posting;)
OVERHAND shuffle! Not fan!
But they are plastic cards;)
@@LearntoPlayGames Yes thank you, don't even need sleeves (as of yet..lol). Fanning just personally makes me cringe, must be somewthing from my childhood-)
Unbreakable Inc
Can't wait;)
This game was over-engineered, un-necessarily "busy" and a chore to play.
Try to avoid saying “you guys,” it will improve the production
Thanks It is one of the hardest parts of filming. I have a hard time starting each clip without a transition word but I try to watch it and will continue to work on it. Thanks for the feedback and for watching.
@@LearntoPlayGames Words of someone who doesn't create videos there - I really enjoyed it. I've got a couple of channels and I can't help but say the most ridiculous things including criminal use of the word "literally". Unless you've made videos, you don't understand how hard it is, the mouth goes on autopilot. Keep up the good videos!
@@TabletopUpgrades I completely agree, it is so hard trying to remember all the rules you are covering, while trying not to say some words, while not pausing or saying ah, while adding volume to your voice and not being monotone. I have needed to take up to 20 takes to get it right and some videos have over 30 clips that make them up.
@@LearntoPlayGames You seem to avoid the verbal diarrhoea that usually plagues me on the first take though, well done!
Seven minutes and twenty seconds until the actual "how to play" begins. I didn't come here for a review.
Sorry about that. In my newer videos I have much shorter intros. Thanks for watching and for the feedback hope you found the video helpful.
Skim forward then.....it’s not a hard concept.
Regarding format of the video, for me a ‘how to play’ should have minimum opinion, as if the video is a reference to learn how to play knowing your view isn’t pertinent. By all means have the review at the end or as a separate video.
Thanks for your feedback and I would agree with you as well. That was my original intention but I have many companies request or require it in order to give me the games to work with so I met them in the middle with my opinions. I don't like reviews and feel that it can push people away from games they may like if they gave them a chance. Thanks for your feedback and for watching.
6 minutes of a talking dude. We don't want to look at talking dudes, we want to see STUFF!
sorry to disappoint you:(
Ever think about skimming forward? Better yet, you make the video. Oh wait, you came here because you don’t know how to play.
