Why are there only 200,000 views, these guys are genius, I don't think people understand that this is what a DJ is supposed to do, plus they freestyle scratch and everything, that was beautiful
Damn dude :D look peoples are dumb as shit Steve Aoki don't stand behind turntables hes just trow shit in peoples. So yea man we can state whey don't understand shit about dj's work :D
Grew up on this album and this live record. Learned french moved to paris and for me it still represents french culture in its every aspect like nothing else. Its the "mais oui", its every gobelins animation, its the sensation of leg soreness when you are biking for too long, its the metro at any time of the day, its crunchy baguette, its revolution, its bobo, its breathtaking in the most bof tranquillou way. Its also perfect music to do graphic design
Imagine being able to master the sound of every instrument then master the art of playing that mastered instrument sound in complete cohesion with 4 other masters of mastered instruments and THEN put it all together in a completely seamless live performance AND still be able to freestyle at will in time with a live support band. These 4 are 200x further ahead of their time.
as much as I respect their work and their art, it's not exactly like mastering the violin or the piano to philarmonic concert levels... but still super impressive, creative and enjoyable
anyone who tries to claim that someone else doesn't have a valid opinion, doesn't have a valid opinion themselves. we think we understand what you mean, possibly your frustration with the whole popularity/commercialization of the electronic music scene etc, and we do agree there. we've been in the scene since the 90s and know what it was back then and miss it. all we were trying to say here is, Birdy Nam Nam is amazing turntablism. not really sure why you are hating.
Their ancestors were the greatest rhythm dance composers. This is today's modern version of real music. You can call a lot of music "real" music, but this is very well creative in my scope.
Not hating on the video content or their ability as dj's. Why try and label their music when it is clearly very varied. 'EDM' is a term penned by modern music journalists who really don't know about music. There is this modern fascination with pigeon holing everything into it's own category. Good music is good music, without these silly genre names popping up everywhere.

THX
This is what I called music. They do need more of this.

When you find DJ music made more than 10 years ago, more modern than whole modern music scene.

I'm using Tiesto as an example for someone who uses the term 'EDM' not turntablism?
How refined
Birdy Nam Nam were not the first to do this.
Shit. My head won't stop moving
