This review deserves more attention. Most reviews of trackballs are from people who dont use trackballs and they dont compare them to eachother. The best part of your review was the big difference between the pressure needed for moving the ball. Ive had multiple trackballs and have never found a balanced one for gaming, when it came to quality of precision movement as well as scroll and button features. Thank you for your review.

Thanks for your comment! Ball sticktion is such a big problem for me. I think because my wrist is so sensitive. I'm really looking forward to the next GameBalls, but I'm a little worried about the ProArc partnership. I hope they still have enough freedom to make them great.

I've been a Microsoft Trackball Explorer user for 19 years now so you have no idea how much this review helped shape my decision on pursuing this product. I've literally just been hunting down Trackball Explorers that have been repaired or refurbished over the years but it's getting expensive and exhausting to do so.
I will say I'm worried about the scroll wheel being moved because access to that scroll wheel is big for me as an avid FPS player but I will take this review into heavy consideration.

Great Review! Thanks so much for actually mentioning that the ball moves smoothly and easily (this is one of the most important features to me and almost every other review I have read fails to mention this). I used a Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball Mouse for at least 10+ years now and it has been discontinued. I tried the Huge but the Huge is actually just fits a medium sized hand (US size). An employee with smaller hands than mine loves it. I am a large and it is way too small as your wrist floats in the air instead of on the desk or on the mouse as it should (for a sizing guide standard XL gloves from the US are way too big for me). While the Gameball is about $148 vs $24 for the Trackman the Trackman only lasted a year at the most and the ball was very hard to move and definitely not professional in the first place. Anyways thanks for the great review as I was about to buy 5-10 mouse pads and cut them so that my Large US hand would fit on the mouse properly but I would really rather try a Gameball mouse first as finger fatigue is a real issue if the ball is hard to move after about 4 or more hours using a worn out trackball mouse. One last quick thing I also bought two Kensington Orbit mouses and they were good mouses but ridiculous that they were made to fit a childs size hand (not ergonomic at all).

I've been using trackballs for many years. I have two Kensington Expert trackballs - one for work and one for home. They are both over a decade old, and still work like new. However, I recently upgraded to a high refresh rate monitor for gaming, and the Kensington trackballs don't work well for that purpose. They only poll at a standard 125 Hz, which leads to less than smooth movement in high FPS games. So, I ordered a GameBall last week. It has a polling rate of 1,000 Hz, and will be smooth in high framerate games. If there is another high polling rate trackball on the market, I've yet to find it. My GameBall will be here today, February 26th, 2024. I'm excited about the GameBall Pro, with a larger ball, and physical scroll wheel. I'll probably buy one as soon as they are released.

I appreciate the well timed review as I was looking for possible trackball replacement to use from a bed or sofa. I normally use a mouse but it doesn't seem as feasible without a hard surface
Since I am not a sole trackball user, I do find the coast of 148 on their site, a bit too high for me.

if you are playing a multiplayer game you might want to try a mouse accel driver like "raw accel" which lets you setup a sensitivity based on how fast you are moving the trackball which is more intuitive, granular and faster than swapping between game and precision mode manually.

Trackball gamers, represent! Ambidextrous/symmetrical ones recommended for gaming. I don't have any hand or wrist condition. I just like that ye olde arcade-like feel. It's intuitive to me. Granted, that might be because I've been using trackballs for 20+ years.
Fun fact: Trackballs have been around longer than mieces.
0:39 Trackman Marble's muh fave. Logitech doesn't make them anymore. More's the pity.
2:22 Really? That must be a new development. Back in the day, it was more common to find symmetrical ones rather than offset ones. Can't find any trackballs in stores nowadays. They have to be special-ordered.
5:00 You really only need two buttons on a gaming trackball.
5:28 Scroll buttons (taking the place of a mousewheel) are a nice modern feature that ye olde Trackman Marble lacks.
8:38 That's really where a symmetrical trackball shines. Any symmetrical one with two buttons will do. The GameBall is like an ultra-modern deluxe jobber.
    9:38 20+ for me.

I have the kensington expert, 2 elecom huge, 1 elecom deft pro, 1 elecom brita. I like them all for different reasons but in terms of scrolling I think they all are weak. Because I've got used to scrolling in the apple trackpad, the thinkpad's trackpoint, and the Logitech Master MX 3.
Scroll wheel in Elecom's suck big time. more in elecom huge than in Deft pro or brita. I have 2 elecom huge and both scroll wheels got dirty, I don't know how, but this made scrolling jumpy.
I use 2 fingers to move the trackball with the huge and the deft pro, with the brita just 1 because the ball is too small. And this makes less fatigue.
from Apple's trackpad & Magic mouse I love inertia scrolling & 2d scrolling
from the Logitech Master MX 3 I love free wheel scrolling that is like physical inertia scrolling
from Thinkpad's Trackpoint I love 2d continuous scrolling.
from Kensington Expert I love continuous scrolling with the ring.
I would love a tracking device that combines 2d, inertia, continuous scrolling

The buttons on the Kensington are much firmer / harder to click than my Logitech and I had to send it back - it was unusable for an 8 hour workday.
