I played flute middle school all the way through college. It is EXCELLENT for breath control, and it's so compact and portable! You're making me think I should pick it up again...haha.

I guessed flute for the instrument. I wish I had continued my piano and flute lessons. I did continue singing until I graduated college.

Flute is great...goes well with singing as well. Key of C and works well with breath control. I am a classically trained singer as well. I play flute and piano.

I love how you reflect on yourself. It is something that I struggle with and watching you reflect is inspiring.

Sometimes, I focus so much on what I didn't get done, so I gotta remind myself I actually did do stuff LOL

WOW!!! What a year you have had!! Your 2023 was spectacular… 🎉🎉
GREAT job of reflecting and sharing all your accomplishments!! You are very inspiring!!
I’m listening to your personal goals for 2024 and I need exactly what you are describing in regard to your arms!! Except, I’m much older than you and the muscle loss has already started. 😢 I would like to push myself to be more motivated like YOU, I need to do the HARD work like YOU already do… so, would you have any RUclips channels you could recommend that have helped you find this much needed zeal and passion.
Now to finish watching the rest of your 2024 goals. You have given me some ideas already. Thanks for this video.

HIGHLY recommend the Chemex. I got mine at a thrift store several years ago and it's my daily go-to

You’re not particularly motivated??? You run multiple RUclips channels for a full time job. You also are a professional singer. I think you’re pretty darn motivated.

Thank you for telling me about Kathleen Battle ! I'm surprised to learn it. I'm grateful for all you have tipped me to for music; like "Omar". It's wonderful to me . The only other quiet voice i can think of is Nellie Melba. She's the only one i want to hear as Mimi or Gilda.

Thank you for sharing your health. 🙏 to you. Yes I understand about breast MRI, and fibroids which I had it measure in millimeters but yes I had heavy bleeding which in my case cause a hysterectomy (ovaries kept) in 2/2021 due to my breast cancer (diagnosed 2015) was estrogen receptor so getting my period was not good due to being in medical menopause since 2015, but now it’s permanent.
❤ review of 2023 and goal setting for 2024.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family.

I found that when i was craving a high starch food with butter like buttered potato or buttered bread, the pork rinds took care of that. I would grab a handful of the pork rinds and a small amount of butter like a dip and be good to go

I had the same thing happen with crazy periods, then got severely anemic. (I’m 48) I’m getting the progesterone IUD Jan 2. I can’t wait. I’m even more encouraged after hearing your experience with it!
Also thank you for talking about it. I think it’s great when periods are normalized by people talking and sharing info.

I think I have now been watching your content in any form for exactly three years. I remember because I found you shortly before the first Toy Day in ACNH, and there was the legendary first Tabold hunt. And I am so glad I did find you, because you've been such a big help in me getting my house and life into better order. Plus you are just awesome on your own. :)
Also, I played flute when I was young. It's a fun instrument.

I know this is totally off topic, but the way you handle food items and crinkle bags and shake cans and talk about things is like ASMR. 😅

Kay your content is always a delight to watch and I'm not sure you've shared your voice work before but oh my goodness you have an astounding amazing voice, I was listening to the blog while walking my dog in the dawn hours and your clip from Miserere came just as the sun was rising and it was a beautiful moment for me, thank you ❤❤

New to your channel, found you from your monthly reset videos! This was such a thoughtful reflection and goal setting process! I have been watching goal videos like from tattooed teacher plans who uses the Makselife goal planner, that has 8 goal sections. I will like to focus on wellness and fitness. I need to tone! I find walking works best for me, so outdoor walks and RUclips walking workouts like from Leslie Sansone Walk at Home and Grow with Jo channels. I also like how Mariane Cresp on her channel has videos about creating a well-being planner, weekly fitness layout, and how to use a self-care/ break list. I think these will be helpful for my wellness/fitness journey.

@@kaypattersonvlogs I just want to say, I'd love to know if you could find some older singers who kind of have their voices in the pocket. Sometimes being around older people gets us all to kind of relax and give ourselves Grace and just develop comfortably without all of the judgment.
I worked with seniors a while back as a Performing Arts Consultant (Theatre,Music, New Productions); and I felt so free because they treated me as someone that they respected in terms of my skills in the theater but they looked at me like "young girl you've got a lot more Life to live'. That's what I feel sometimes when you start getting on yourself and talking about being "middle-aged".
What does that really mean? What if the Good Lord gives you to live to be 100 years old that means you have another good 60 years of great singing to do my dear. Enjoy it!
God gave you a gift. Thank him for that gift, revel in it because everybody doesn't have it. And regarding voice size. Aren't all of the instruments in the orchestra just phenomenal? Is one better 5han another? Is the cello better than the flute? Don't they both have unbelievable Beauty just by being what it is? I have been dealing a lot in my study because my voice is very big. It takes a lot to maneuver that voice around.( My vocal mother says it takes a lot to move that big Cadillac around the corners!) So I really understood more than you know what you were talking about when you were showing the
physicalization of bringing the head voice and the chest voice to a middle...easing the break. I definitely understand you. Mine is the opposite struggle. But to be given much, much is required. Come on musician, make music! Love your channel. Blessings my Sister!💞
