I feel you on this! My July/August consisted of twisting my ankle, letting that heal, and that getting sick the week after 🤪 so glad I can get back to normal! Also I love your animal crossing shirts, they look so comfy cosy and I need them 💯🥰

I also caught COVID for the first time this summer (beginning of August) I couldn't believe it. I have the vaccine and the boosters, I still mask around 50% of the time. I went to sleep with a *slightly* sore throat and when it persisted in the morning, I took a home test. Boom, positive. Glad to know you are recovering well.

I have Govee water alarm set up in my lower level. It is very sensitive - has an audible alarm and sends texts and emails to my daughter and myself. Saved us water cleanup!

Totally feral GenXer here! LOL…we drank from the hose so we know NOT to drink others TOXIC KoolAid (aka. the Hater A$$holes). I too am glad that my bag of F’s is MIA and may they rest in peace because I bid them a find a freeing adieu.

Kay, you are so incredibly wonderful exactly as you are! If I could grant you one wish it would be to see yourself through the eyes of those who love you for even just a day. As a 58-year-old who has struggled with self acceptance my entire life, I could not encourage you more to learn to unconditionally love yourself and let go of whatever anyone else tries to impose upon you. At the end of the day, and more importantly, at the end of this life, all that matters is what you believe of the life that you’ve lived. You are special, what you give of yourself to others is meaningful, your message is important, and you deserve to enjoy every minute of it without living under the expectation of others.

I got this new variant right before the 4th of July. I was beyond annoyed because it was before I was expecting the spike to happen. And I gave it to my mom. I felt so bad. This was the first time for both of us (never got COVID). We both got through it. Thank god.

My boy just got his teeth done, two extractions this time. He's already feeling much better. Hope Clover is doing well! I think your boy is 13, too? I told myself that was the last time ill send him under anesthesia. He doesn't have cushings but he does have lupus and a bad heart so I really relate to your dog stories!

I had Covid for the first time beginning of December 2023 and I also felt awful! It took me two weeks to recover and probably 6 weeks total to stop coughing. And I had the booster in October the same day as a flu shot. I had the chest pain too and strained a chest muscle at Christmas time even though I was barely coughing at that point.

Thankfully my husband and I still have never gotten covid. Get your vitamin D serum level up, girl! It's not all roses though, as I had a kidney stone issue this weekend it seems. I have a wedding to go to next month and I can fit into a dress that's about 8 years old thanks to eating carnivore! 💪

Kaye, it was so good to see you today. I’ve not been getting all your notifications but now ai see you’ve been ill. I got Covid around 4th of July myself…it was a miserable time and like you…I had not had it before. All during the Pandemic and beyond Hubby and I didn’t get it and then boom! 4th of July I got it and he got it a few days later. Go figure!

So glad to see you back here, Kay. You have been missed. I'm particularly sorry to hear that Covid was so hard on you and took so long to leave. In that vein though, I see your candor as a kind of PSA. Reminding us of the realities of that pernicious virus. I think we've become lulled into thinking it was no longer a thing. It's a thing. Looking forward to more from and about you, and appreciated this update...your recovery. Speaking of which, a fond rub behind the ears for Clover. Poor guy. He's a trouper. Not at all. 😢 I love all my coffee brewing methods but similar to the ritual of the pour over method; the Aero Press ritual is one of my faves on slow mornings or chill afternoons. Highly recommend the Aero Press.

Recently took a road trip with my 19 yo son after he attended a gaming competition and I made him wear a mask in the car. Luckily he hasn’t gotten sick, but better safe than sorry!

Wow, that slipcover is really nice! Also after five years of the spouse working from home, I LIVE for the empty house days… And if you end up doing something with one of my favorite choirs, I may have to fangirl on out somewhere to see that 😊

Sending prayers to you and hoping that you have a speedy recovery. Have you try taking the ginger and lemon tea with turmeric and black pepper. It got me a lot, especially when I had Covid-19.

I understand how you are feeling. I just got over two weeks of COVID-19, I was so sick and miserable, with that being said, I kind of enjoyed the solitude for a while.

Glad you’re feeling better. I recently went back to pour over coffee after using Keurig for a while. I live in an old neighborhood and frequently lose power when it storms. I have a gas stove so if I lose power I can boil water and still have coffee as long as I grind my coffee before the power goes out 😊 I’ve used French press before but I didn’t like the sediment it left.

While teaching (32 years) got almost everything that went through the school. My doctor would call the principal and say I was not allowed around children for 7 days. The last thing I had was my first case of mono. I retired after that.
