Hey Agufish! The most durable carbon fiber is bidirectional carbon fiber. You need to check out KLOS Guitars on that front. Anyway, Lava uses injection molding process with ground up, powdered CF mixed with resin. It is not much stronger than most types of wood, and I’d even argue some woods are stronger than this type of composite. My beef with brands like Lava is that they generally call it composite or CF and don’t really specific which kind it is and what to expect from it. As you learned, injection molded guitars composite guitars help with temp changes, but are not the tanks people assume them to be - and these brands are a bit dishonest knowing that people are totally uneducated about the different types of CF. They buy a Lava, Journey, etc., and then find out the hard way that they can in fact break, and worse yet, there’s no way to repair them in most cases because they tend to shatter (like yours), and guitar techs lack the materials and knowledge to repair injection molded composite guitars. Injection molded guitars are best for people who live in difficult climates, primarily use their guitar at home, and at the most, takes the guitar out on rare occasions to a park or friend’s house. I don’t recommend injection molded guitars for households with rowdy and curious kids/pets, anyone that travels via planes/trains/busses/cars, bringing it back and forth between school/home, anyone that takes guitars hiking/camping/other adventures, gigging musicians (especially if it’s the only guitar you’re taking). Just a small bump or a single fall can shatter the body, crack the headstock or neck, etc. Bidirectional CF is best for these situations, and KLOS Guitars offers the most affordable options you’ll find, often around the same price or a tad higher than injection molded composites - they’re amazing instruments. Agufish, I hope you’ll take this opportunity to educate yourself about the different types and then share that knowledge on RUclips. Most RUclipsrs are completely uneducated about this topic. You guys should know about the different types used to make guitars (there are 3 - injection molded made with powdered CF and resin, unidirectional CF, and bidirectional CF), how to tell the difference between these materials as well and when brands are using veneers to make you think you have the strongest type when it’s the weakest one, the pros/cons of each material for guitars and which ones are most suitable for certain circumstances, etc.
You should try to make the best guitar with only Aliexpress parts. I noticed that they have tonnnns of guitar parts from necks, bodys, to pick ups, bridges etc, at very cheap prices.
7:21 I DO THE SAME THING WITH MY CAT (Mochi > Moch), CAT NAME GANG Also happy to see the direction the twin sonex guitars are going in! Hope the variety helps with your songwriting!
Slight bit of cheekiness. If they (Lava) allow it, cannibalise the gubbins from the duff Lava-tar and put them in the 'modern' Sonex! I highly doubt there's another Sonex with futuristic tech and/or a piezo pup!
I effin love me a sonex bro I’m glad your resurrecting two of them they are super fun and have so much sustain cause of that weird body everyone craps on
The Lava Guitars look really interesting. From the demos I’ve seen and heard, it seems like a fun guitar just to dork around with when camping, beach time, etc. Can’t wait!
@Agufish you should take your broken lava me guitar and see if the electronics work and if so try and put them in an electric guitar or something like an es3-35
*Idea for the membership: monthly equipment give away raffle (guitars/amps/recording gear) And the prize could be sponsored.. Could make a lot of hype for the channel
Interesting to see you review the Lava Me 3 and good on ya, that you are the only one that mentioned the action height being a bit high. That's new in reviews already. I like the idea of being able to just pick up something and jam with it, on the road.
If the Lava Me takes notes from Apple, and their carbon fiber is stable enough, they should have changeable bridges for specific string heights and charge $25 for each bridge..
How’s about sponsor a Patreon’s guitar for a build? Also the membership option for RUclips do the same thing? Sponsor a build of their guitar perhaps? Early info on merch drops for Patreons and membership folks? Give them free entries every times there’s a giveaway for being a Patreon/member.
I am curious how many guitars do you own? I own 34 guitars and I only play about 25 of them on a normal rotation but there is five of them that I have a hard time even putting down
I've actually done a set up on that Gibson guitar and I just remember how disgusting it looked. Cleaning it helped a little bit, but the neck felt like a baseball bat.
Take it from somebody who works in the logistics industry. Putting "fragile" stickers all over your package just encourages warehouse workers to kick the shit out of it.
I dont Think The Stingrays are strat style guitars I'd compare them more to a fender mustang especially the music man one it looks so similar to kurt cobain's in utero tour mustand (the sonic blue one).
Unfortunately every sterling I’ve ever played was absolutely awful. I have played 6 in total at two different guitar centers. I’m not talking about the setup either, I’m talking about quality for price. I was disgusted.
Smart guitars are stupid guitars lol. It's gonna be hilarious in 10 years or less when there's no software for your phone or even compatible hardware. Especially for Bluetooth related devices. Eventually Bluetooth will be phased out.

Not ready for the end
Better Call Saul-loves triumphs! I will miss Jimmy McGill.

Perfect ending to Better Call Saul, and indeed the potential ending of the Breaking Bad universe. We even got closure with Marie. Just awesome.

Thanks!
Tuesday suddenly took an unexpected turn for the better. Thanks for the video, Hunter

I love where your mind is at! No idea how I would pull off that feat of engineering, but imma hit Wendell up and see if it’s even possible
Interesting idea
Discord Squad!
Also, somebody loves WD Music parts hahaha
Not as much as they like me as a customer, probably haha
Discord SQUAAAAAD
Hell yeah! I’m actually looking into buying that same Sterling Stingray! Can’t wait for the review
Team Forged Pacific 💯
Would you think of reviewing one of the 40th anniversary Squiers?
I effin love me a sonex bro I’m glad your resurrecting two of them they are super fun and have so much sustain cause of that weird body everyone craps on
unbox content is so satisfying
Straight to the segue! Brutal!😆
Would have been hilarious if it had been…another box!
I'd like the idea of smart guitars if they'd just look like normal guitars
Mooer makes some that look just like normal ass guitars
NEXT BOX!
Whacked

Rip to the previous smart guitar 🙏
Edit: 11:40 ? 11:56 ?
Im real interested in the lava. Ill be watching. We have seen a few like it and it would be nice to have a bit of chorus at a foggy campsite
You know hunter. I kind of wanted to see some more stereotypically metal guitars too.
May or may not have something Jackson-related coming up that might be right up your alley…
@@agufish fuckin sweet dude, I hope it’s a king v. The Scott Ian sig is pretty sweet.
I have a WD neck on my "early 80s Schecter PT" replica, very nice!
Did i miss the Epi Origins review?.....
No. He’s hasn’t done it yet as far as I can tell.
Dropping soon
@@agufish Awesome. Cant wait. Still paying off mine haha
With that Lava ME3….. Perfect chance to try writing some cool fingerstyle intros to some tasty metal riffage 🤘🏻

Killer color on the SR50!
I personally think that locking tuners should be on every guitar that is made across the board
When I walk in all the smart stuff in my house immediately stops whispering.
Hell yeah!
The sting rays have more in common with the Jazzmaster than the strat IMO
Richlite hate is silly, but fair. To those that care (and that rhymed).
If the Lava Me takes notes from Apple, and their carbon fiber is stable enough, they should have changeable bridges for specific string heights and charge $25 for each bridge..
So if you need to change the strings on that Lava, do you have to take it back to the store and pay around $50?
8:28 Kitty Kat!

Have you ever played a line 6 variax? Try the LP shaped one of you ever get the chance.
To be fair to your cat, those pick guards did mildly resemble fish

Wonder how you feel about the Jason Richardson music man? Curious to hear your take on it.
Personally I can’t with super flat fingerboards, but that’s my loss. It looks real cool!

Any word on the Valiant collab?
At first I was afraid they'd spent all their packing budget on those stickers and it was going to be in there in some foam wrap.
IbaneZ GANG where you at
"Sacrilege"
You're welcome 😉
Lol thank you! I just changed it to a word I know I can spell 😂
Idk about y'all, but a Kahler would look great on a '59 Standard. Just sayin...

If you have a Dremel or similar rotary tool, use the small grinding discs to remove the tops of vintage saddle height screws.
Can I buy your Broken Lava ?
Unfortunately every sterling I’ve ever played was absolutely awful. I have played 6 in total at two different guitar centers. I’m not talking about the setup either, I’m talking about quality for price. I was disgusted.
4th comment!!
Can I have the broken space age guitar, please? I'll behave.
Can I? I promise I won’t behave
It's fra-gile.. Must be Italian
The only Gibson's that should be modded are the new ones, let's face it, they suck.
