Man, rest assured that's not that bad, as a 335i N54 owner this sounds rather solid to me. By the way, your videos about the Alps roadtrip are a massive inspiration, I'm planning to do something similar this summer.
My M2 makes this exact same noise that you had on passenger front wheel. I thought it was suspension or spring related and had it in for a garage to look at and they couldnt find or hear anything wrong with it. The TPMS being broken makes so much sense now, it only happens at speeds below 10mph and it isnt linked to steering or suspension travel. Ive got it booked in to National Tyres on Monday to see if this fixes it!
Just replying back here, it was the same issue as you. Piece of a broken TPMS sensor clicking around inside the tyre. Sensor had been replaced and shard of metal from old one was left behind in the tyre. Garage sorted it for me for free!
The tubro wastegate rattle fix is simple, order new c clips for wastegate linkage. There is 2 c clips, make sure you buy the same size and buy at leat a pack of 10 cos you will drop some 😂.
@MDrives nothing online with actually fix but I discoved by holding the wastegate linkage with a screw driver that the noise completely goes, so then I changed the c clips. Then the noise completed stopped and didn't return. I think the c clips wear down and allow the wastegate linkage to rattle on idle and when starting to build boost. I hope this helps mate.
Apologies for being so late to this video. I've had some of the same issues (and different ones!) as follows: 1) Tyre resonance - Yes, I sometimes hear that same annoying resonance at certain speeds, as with yours, my tyres (MP4S) have plenty of tread although the wear is slightly uneven so I will be changing them and getting an alignment at the same time. 2) Under bonnet "beep" - Mine is an S55 but I've had this too. It almost sounds like a whistle instead of a beep, and gradually the beeps get shorter and shorter until they stop. Only happens occasionally after turning the car off when its hot (twice in one year for me). I can see the logic to the water pump explanation, and in my case that's what I investigated first because I did have an air lock in the charge cooler system at the time, but the noise was coming from the opposite side to the electric pump, in the area beneath the charge cooler. I did a lot of googling and found a 330d with the exact same noise and the outcome of that was an issue with the throttle body adaptations. I followed a simple procedure to reset the adaptations and haven't heard the noise since, but I don't know if I've solved it or if that was just coincidence. 3) Glovebox rattle. I have the same rattle. Maybe I caused it because I removed glovebox and moved stuff around to install an MMI. Haven't watched your rattle video yet but will do. What was the cause on yours? Other issues I've had with my M2C in addition to ones you've mentioned: Seat bolster rubs on centre console and gradually wears through the alcantara. (Only affects M2C). Offside front arch liner gradually wears through the auxillary radiator core and pierces it. Had to replace my radiator (18k miles) and grind down the arch liner to prevent a repeat. Might only be an M2C problem, I don't know. Diff whine at constant motorway speeds, I don't know how much whine is within tolerance but there's no excessive backlash that I can tell. Occasional RDC / TPMS faults/errors which sort themselves out after a reset (2 or 3 times in the space of 1 year).
Thank you for sharing. I didn’t hear that weird sound from under the bonnet for at least 6 months now if not longer. I think with a glovebox, I used a washer or something in between the trim parts.
I've had my 19 M2 comp around 6 months now. Only issue I've had was today where I got a rear diff lock fault code, it disappeared after restarting it twice though... Still going to turn it in to see what's going on. Other than that, no issues yet (knock on wood)!
@@MDrives Update: It did come back so I returned it to BMW. There's an electronic motor that controls the locking of the diff which had gone faulty, they changed it out almost 2 months ago and the problem hasn't come back since
I have a 2018 f87 and the only issues ive had was the E brake cable bracket snapped and the cables rubbing against the driveshaft under heavy load, ( i heard its a F series issue generally) I had the warrentied luckily and sadly my oil pan gasket started to slowly leak at 30k miles. but other than that she good!!
@@MDrives Thank you, actually it seems I was the dude that started the Thread on bimmerpost about beeping sounds. Anyway, another thing on these cars, pull out your seat belt fully and inspect it. Often there are treads pulled out. I got my Drivers replaced.
Feels like every time I watch one of your videos where you adress issues I can relate to them. I've had the exact same beep sound on my car and there was actually a forum post made a couple days ago with a guy having the same issue and some say it's related to the throttle body adaptations which can be reset, and some have solved it by flushing/topping off their intercooler coolant. It's a headache, heard it once in my car a month ago so hoping it doesnt come back
That’s interesting. Which forum are you referring to? I’ve heard it only 3 times over the last 3 years so hopefully it will not come back, but I would prefer to know what it was.
On Bimmerpost. But after searching some more there appears to be plenty of models that produce the same noise. Found 2-3 posts from B58 owners as well as B48's having the exact same noise. All of which hear it very rarely@@MDrives
I had the same issue with rear light messages on my m2 comp. Other problem was a cracking, ticking noise from the front left part of the car, near the wheels when i turned the steering wheel. I sold the car because i ordered a g80, but i miss the m2 so much! One day i will buy another m2, i think it is the most beautiful BMW ever!
Funny you should mention the clear-coat wear on the door-shuts. I have the same on my M2 Comp and will be applying ppf to the affected areas this week.
Just bought the ppf for this. I actually previously bought it, didn't install it then moved countries and lost it. So no doubt I'll install it then find it lol
Interesting many thanks for the content 😅 I must admit since I own a 435i with higher milage (little bit of a project car) the issues and strange noises I have sometimes hear makes me want to look at each and every thing on RUclips other owners have in anything N55 EWG to diagnose if I have the same things or to be aware of certain things.. this is N55 life haha...
So... Tyres - consumables, not a fault with the car. Glovebox rattle - a one-off fault with fitment any car can have. Condensation in rear light - yes common fault although mine doesn't suffer, but I agree this is a genuine fault. Leak from diff - a seal, can happen to any car mine doesn't have this fault. Paint peeling from wheels - not a fault with the car, you admitted it was a smart repair so the wheel company's fault. Diff bush perished - mine has done this, but I don't see it as a major problem it's a bush ffs not engine failure. Paint rubbing off in the door shut - yes common fault but hardly a big problem, it can be fixed easily and you can't even see it. TPMS sensor loose - can happen to any car ffs. Slight whine noise - disappeared and never came back, lol, is that a problem ? Exhaust camshaft clicking - yes that is a genuine fault, fixable though and wouldn't cause any failure. Rattles and creaks - you get those with any car which has stiff suspension, that's life. LCI lights - not an original part, so not a fault with the car. Wastegate rattle - a slight annoyance, not really a massive fault lol. I worked at main dealerships, and brand new cars have problems, they are complicated mechanical things with thousands of parts. I do think this is a bit of a whinge for clicks mate.

When I 1st heard it I thought it was the 20 year old transit van in the lane next to me. It sounds like a wire coat hanger caught up in the wheel arch

If you haven’t replaced the charge pipe with an aluminium one, do it soon. They all break at the inlet manifold at some point.
