That is an older version. We do not make the open -ended rails any longer. Since customers have been asking about mounting storage boxes to the subframe, our subframes since about a year and a half ago have a full box enclosure around them.
We only use HEIM joints when there is a three point pivot system. The axial pivots need a redundant capture device to prevent lateral movement. Otherwise, the HEIM joints are not required for the 4 point subframes.

Do we have the option of ordering the 12' with end rails? I see the ends are not connected to anything.

Why in some areas you use heim joints and in other parts you use pivots, is it just a matter of cost selection or for other reasons?
