I've never used or seen this product in person. That was the main thing I didn't like. Sounds like you solved it. What do you put the syrup in? Old pods that come with the Ninja?
is it super diluted though? That is what i'm worried about. Like if you replaced it with pepsi, would it be super diluted pepsi. He said he would make another video doing this, but i can't find it lol
to me, it depends on the personality of the user. if you are a gaget geek and like to push buttons, get the Ninga. if you are simple, no stress no mess, get the sodastream.
You can exchange soda stream for half price and no mailing costs big difference. And the Terra machine with 2 bottles and 2 carb bottles for less than 100 dollars
you can buy an adapter and braided line to run a line through the bottom of both machines and under your counter to attach to a real c02 tank. in my area a 10lb tank costs $25 to exchange.
I prefer to put the syrup in the bottom of my glass. Pour the sparkling water over top to half the glass and give it a gentle swirl. Then fill up the rest. I can mix whatever flavor I want without the bottle fizzing over.
I have a soda stream we don’t use the flavors or we just add some juice if we want it. Also it seems the ninja is by the glass . So if your sitting down for a meal with four people and you want to refill your glass you need to go to the machine. With soda stream you can fill as many bottles as you want put them in the fridge and just pour from the bottle, we put a non carbonated bottle of water in the fridge before carbonating as co2 works better when the water is cold.. Unless I’m missing something I don’t like having to go to the machine every time I want a drink pus I have to have a cold container of water standing with ice and the ice will melt before I may want another drink.
You can fil bottle too with the Ninja Thirst. I have both of them and I prefer the Ninja Thirsti. Sodastream is ok too, but the way the Thirsti works is really better and very fizzy.
I’m glad for this esp the pricing information. I was contemplating a soda machine just to replace the Walmart and Lidl sparking flavored waters. But lidl is .59 per 33 ounces so I think we’ll stay w the lidl as this sounds way more expensive. This video was real helpful and I appreciate it.
Can you just use the soda stream syrup and pour it into a glass of sparkling nom flavored water from the Thirsti? Seems to me if you want the best of both, you can do that with the thirsti machine.
Just buy a soda siphon for like 30 bucks. You make your stuff in the bottle so no machine required. The only issue with using a soda siphon is you have to use single use 8 gram c02 cartridges. They can't be refilled once they're spent they're spent. But it works really well and was the original way soda fountains did it back in the early 1900s through the 50s.
I just bought my ninja thirsti just today, and so far, I love it. I have had sodastreams and loved them as well. The only thing I don't like about the ninja is the cost.
I have not tried the Thirsti. But I did see a different video where the "blue" CO2 bottles for the older Sodastream models (which are still commonly available) use the same threading (they screw in) as the Ninja Thirsti and they seem to be compatible. As far as the cost goes, you can dramatically reduce your cost of carbonation per serving for either carbonated water maker if you either recharge your 60L cylinders from a large CO2 tank (you can do this MANY, MANY times per 20lb bottle of CO2) or you hook up a hose and adapter to run from the large CO2 tank directly to Sodastream/Thirsti (but then you have a large cylinder sitting around near your Sodastream/Thirsti which is not "pretty"). You can get adapter kits online for either approach. But the syrups cost what they cost unless you can wait for them to go on sale.
Just a tip. For the sodastream, you have to wait until you hear the "hiss" before letting go of the carbonation button. Once you do that, let it rest for 2-3 seconds and press again until you hear the hiss. I do this 5-6 times and get the perfect carbonation every time.
Absolutely. For EVERYTHING. My husband and I try to help ppl out at the grocery who look like they're trying to decide (not pushy or anything). Everything usually says it right on the tag or online. If it's on sale it's a bit more tricky. But, once I learned to do it, I can't believe I didn't realize it sooner. Of course, there's some exceptions w quality or tastes. But rarely does it matter.
Sodastream Pepsi syrups caps have 3 lines to judge how much syrup you like, I use the bottom line. You can use anything to flavor sodastream since it just carbs the water.
Q You're forgetting convenience If you just want plain soda water, then you can do it when you feel like it. Just enough. Instead of opening up a large 2 liter once. Refrigerate it. Loosing it's fizz if you don't drink it quickly. So overall it saves gas, time, money and its fresh when you get it. Q
$7 for a 12-pack soda = .58 cent a can at your local Target or Walmart. I love technology but I think I'll stick with buying 12-packs or 36 pack at Big box wholesalers. Really appreciate your review and comparison.

I just literally bought the soda stream terra. The ninja thirsti looks great though, Ninja Uk has got this machine listed as coming soon. However the amount of flavour choice helped sell me the soda stream ad I’m a massive fan of Pepsi max, plus I was feeling nostalgic as I used to have a soda stream as a kid back in the eighties. any one know if can use room temperature water in there?? i can put ice in after to taste. i dont have enough ice or attention to always have enough to keep the water in there cold
Although I like the idea of the Ninja, I remain a Sodastream loyalist for two reasons. First, I don't want to have to fill the reservoir with ice every time I want to make a drink (ice water carbonates better), and second, I don't actually use Sodastream syrups. I like using syrups from other companies like Monin, Torani, and others. Can't do that with Ninja.
@@charleselbert5610 Well, since I don't have it, I don't know it's the better machine. And I haven't seen anything that lets me use other syrups except the idea of emptying Thirsti pods and refilling them with other stuff...too much hassle, and then there's the whole needing to add ice every time I want to use it thing, which would really annoy me. If you like it, that's great. When they add a compressor to keep the water cold, then I'll reconsider.
@@juniormm6388 The colder the water when carbonated, the better the carbonation absorbs into the water, so you always want to use very cold water when you carbonate. This also means you'll spend less money on CO canisters because you're carbonating better/more efficiently. Since the Thirsti has a 48 oz reservoir, that means I either have to 1) store the entire reservoir in the fridge and reattach it every time I want to make a glass of soda, 2) refill it with cold water every time I'm ready to use it, or 3) add ice to get it cold every time I'm ready to use it. With the Soda Stream, I just carbonate the whole bottle of already cold water and either flavor the whole bottle or use it to make individual drinks, if I want. Just a lot less fuss and fewer steps. If you have a big family and will use the entire Thirsti reservoir of water in one shot, then that probably works fine, but for one person who doesn't drink a ton of soda, the Soda Stream just works better for me.
The Sodastream takes up less space on the counter. You make a quart at a time. It is way more simple to operate. You can put it anywhere as it doesn't need a cord. I purchased extra bottles and keep cold water in the fridge ready to go. I don't have to push a lot of buttons to make sure I'm getting what I want. As you can see, I much prefer the Sodastream, although I'm sure the Ninja is a great machine. I have other Ninja kitchen machines. You get the soda flavors of Pepsi, Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, Orange Crush with the Sodastream, in addition to all the fruit flavors.
So i read the coments everyone saying they prefer sodastream cuz they can add their own flavor, but i read the ninja can do nonflavor and you can add these bubbly drops as well... or that pepsi taste, right? People saying theyd rather make a bottle, well you can also make a bottle with several uses of the ninja, right? The only disadvantage is the price of CO2 canisters , sodastream $15 and ninja$30 as well as ninja requiring a plug in? Anyone figured if any sodastream canisters fut into ninja?
The Soda Stream is way better! I throw mine in the car and use it as I travel about. I cant do that with the Ninja. I also can just use the Soda Stream for carbonated water and then add in flavors more freely. The Ninja looks pretty but it does not compare to the Soda Stream at all.
I had a SodaStream for over a decade but never liked that I'm forced to make a large amount at a time, I almost always end up losing a half bottle so this would allow me to make just the amount I want and avoid a massive amount of wasted CO2 and water.
Not having Pepsi or cola flavors and rhe flavor packs being way more for way smaller is what will hurt the ninja system...but ninja seems to not minding catering to people who only buy more expensive appliances. One thing I can say is my ninja blender has been around for like 6 or 7 years it seems and still going. I also have a cheaper one that I've gone through 3 or 4 of at this point.. but at 19.99 each and now 29.99 idk if I've paid as much as I have for my ninja yet lol if the ninja blender I have had larger cups I wouldn't have had to buy the other 🤷🏾♂️
The only problem i have with the Soda stream is it looks like it could be a sticky mess. Especially if the syrup spills. My husband is worse than a child with his coffee (but hes an AMAZING chef so he makes up for it 😊). I cant imagine what pouring syrup in a bottle would result in..... sticky everywhere! Has anyone had this problem? Think comparing it to your 12 year old. 😂😂😂
There are a few liquor machines out there but this is one of 3 I know of and least expensive and affordable…. Also only 2 you can use your own choice of brand liquor, 1 other also can use your own and the other has pods that have liquor in already with bitters mixed in but pods are expensive and hard to find, bartesian has a long list of drinks and other cool items like hard drink recipe book, glassware etc and you can set up subscription on month or up to every 5-6 month delivery and cheap prices.
I like my sodastream. The ninja has to many steps for the same result. I ll just pour in my flavor after choosing which bottle size drink im making. And the ability to use the machine without a plug is even better. The ninja looks like a pretty decent product. It ll probably stick around and compete with the sodastream
See, I hate adding in the flavors manually on my Sodastream. Maybe I haven't found the easiest way to measure. J don't use the "soda" flavors much with the cap as the measuring tool.
I love my SodaStream, But I find that sometimes I forget to put the cap back on or don't drink it for a few days with the cap on and the fizz isn't as strong. I like the fact that sometimes I just want 18 oz. The steps to me are negligible. 3 pushes in my SodaStream adding flavor vs. hitting a few buttons on the Ninja,
I do see why people compare them like this, but as a German they're almost like two different gadgets to me. Obviously you can buy syrups here for the SodaStream too, but most people I know just have one to make carbonated water so they don't have to cart around crates of water. We just drink a lot of carbonated water here in general, so to me the SodaStream is more a water maker then a soda maker. Now, when I think of the Ninja Thirsti I consider that one more of a soda or lemonade maker, because it requires way more steps (like cooled down water and wait time) to just get one glass of carbonated water.
I hope Dr pepper jumps on the sodastream bandwagon. I was waiting for the sodastream mix but they shelfed it. I like my sodastream revaluation but they discounted it. Tricky mixing syrup into the bottle really, and you can buy syrup on sale and ninja isn't well known syrup. You are a shrill for ninja so your finding isn't surprising
May opinio : sodastreas is beast choise becouse mor versatiling flawor , or natural flawor lemons etc. Ninja depedendeg aroms form ninja. Not aroma ninja not work.
wait so if we breathe out co2 and co2 carbonates these drinks why dont we just breathe really hard on our flat sodas to make them carbonated again 😂😊😂🎉😅🎉😮😢😅😢😊🎉😂😅😂😅❤❤❤😂😊🎉😮🎉🎉
I'm going to buy the Ninja simply because I just spent 20 minutes trying to figure the differences between all the Sodastream models, what a joke, they don't make it easy that's for sure. Gonna buy the Ninja right now.
Simple. Some of the Sodastreams are electric, some are manual. I like the fact that the manual ones can be placed anywhere you like without needing an electrical outlet. I also like the fact that I can use a quart (approximately), put it in the refrigerator and take as much or as little as I want at a time. Want only a sip? Take it from the bottle. You can't take just a sip from a 6-ounce serving, you'll waste the rest. I use a small amount to take my pills and the 6 ounce would be a waste. Sometimes I only want a few sips. Warning: Both machines are too tall to place under the upper cabinets in your kitchen unless you have an extra large space between upper and lower cabinets or you have a kitchen island with an outlet. This can be an important reason to buy a manual machine. Nothing against the Ninja. I'm sure it is right for some people. It all depends on personal preferences and available space and how you use the machine. It also depends on whether you just want fruity drinks (Ninja) or sodas like Pepsi or Root Beer in addition to fruity drinks (Sodastream). The Ninja may come up with soda flavors or not.
How are they really really close pricewise? The SodaStream comes in at 0.0311 per ounce (87 cents per28oz) whereas the NinjaThirsty comes in at 0.0483 per ounce (58 cents per12oz). The Ninja will cost the user 55% more. Not close at all. To put that into context, a 355ml can of soda would be 58cents for the Ninja, yet only 37cents with the Soda stream.
what about cleaning the ninja? somce the syrups go theough the machinery on the inside, it MUST need to be cleaned like ANY soda machine at a restaurant or 7/11
Twist the top off an empty Ninja 'pod' and fill it with soda stream syrup. Twist the top back on. Flavor issue solved. It works.

Perhaps you can modify the ninja flavor bottles and refill it with the Pepsi syrup.
They sell smaller bottles now they are about half the size you should consider getting one.
Love my thirsti
Not having Pepsi or cola flavors and rhe flavor packs being way more for way smaller is what will hurt the ninja system...but ninja seems to not minding catering to people who only buy more expensive appliances. One thing I can say is my ninja blender has been around for like 6 or 7 years it seems and still going. I also have a cheaper one that I've gone through 3 or 4 of at this point.. but at 19.99 each and now 29.99 idk if I've paid as much as I have for my ninja yet lol if the ninja blender I have had larger cups I wouldn't have had to buy the other 🤷🏾♂️
what about zero sugar syrup options on ninja? soda stream has lots of
The only problem i have with the Soda stream is it looks like it could be a sticky mess. 😂😂😂
I'm still looking for a review that puts ice cold gin or vodka in the resovoir lol
Pepsi is a better investment than coke for people that don’t eat, or in this case drink ultra processed
$15 at Walmart exchange
can it be used without syrups?
Can you do coca-Cola syrup on the ninja?
You can make it. Add syrup yourself, done
Personally I like that you can pour completely into a cup
It takes 3 seconds to do the thirsti
@TheCassidyCain you could I guess just poor the bottle into a cup and even stir it that way so it doesn't fizz out
I love my SodaStream, But I find that sometimes I forget to put the cap back on or don't drink it for a few days with the cap on and the fizz isn't as strong. I like the fact that sometimes I just want 18 oz. The steps to me are negligible. 3 pushes in my SodaStream adding flavor vs. hitting a few buttons on the Ninja,
Why does it taste funny no matter what I do
artificial sweeteners
The water also makes a difference. I usually use filtered water and it makes a world of difference.
Question is does it last more than 2 years? Every ninja product I have had breaks after 2 years
who knows it came out 2 months ago
you can get a electric soda stream
I have soda streams, I make italian soda with it. but I would by ninja
What is Italian soda?
@@niknaksim it's Torani Syrup or some like and Sparkling water or club soda. they are very good
Sodastream better, not taking a lot of space
May opinio : sodastreas is beast choise becouse mor versatiling flawor , or natural flawor lemons etc. Ninja depedendeg aroms form ninja. Not aroma ninja not work.
Why United States Americans use ounces, what the hell is that? Nobody in the world understands that, just use ml and liters. Come on.
sounds cheaper then 4 dollar for a 2L at the store
wait so if we breathe out co2 and co2 carbonates these drinks why dont we just breathe really hard on our flat sodas to make them carbonated again 😂😊😂🎉😅🎉😮😢😅😢😊🎉😂😅😂😅❤❤❤😂😊🎉😮🎉🎉
Well, maybe you could do that if you had the lung power of a tornado. 😀
Soda stream is ass.
Thirsty - over-complicated and overpriced... 🙄
Ninja product too many problems to go wrong with that whole system junk
terra sucks, ninja has way too many parts
Both to much damn work for a soda
and is that right? $30 per cartridge doing the EXCHANGE? should be only $15.99. $30 is for new carts off the shelf
what about cleaning the ninja? somce the syrups go theough the machinery on the inside, it MUST need to be cleaned like ANY soda machine at a restaurant or 7/11
Soda is cheaper lol
what about zero sugar syrup options on ninja? soda stream has lots
