It is said that Eunwoo was offered the main lead in Nevertheless, but rejected it due to the toxicity of the role.. since he has many young fans who fantasise him....he is going to play a young math teacher in his next drama, going by the webtoon, it's also a very positive role indeed.
@@areem330 yea true he shines a lot as a male lead plus potato guy in nevertheless has a very warm and friendly vibe which eunwoo has too but has a seductive side as well so and there female lead is attracted to the male lead's seductive nature so the story might have had an opposite end since eunwoo would be a combination of both a seductive person and a green flag at the same time
Honestly as a European and somewhat of a feminist: to this day I still don't get how the guy in Nevertheless is supposed to be toxic? Sure they have communication problems, sure irl if you want a stable relationship you probably shouldn't go to guyblike him bit that's why it's a fairy tale. And she was honestly more toxic than him. Yes, I said it, sue me.
In one of the episodes of Master In The House, they were given different scenarios to style the models they were partnered with. Eunwoo's scenario was a single woman attending a gathering of her friends who are in a relationship. He styled her in a power suit saying that she is single but is successful in her career and is happy with being single, that this woman is not envious of being in a relationship.
I noticed the sensation of non-aggressive sensuality from him in the photos he models, he is masculine but not aggressive, I felt that, you made me see that his characters are also mostly like that, I totally agree and I loved the video. Thanks
He most likely also plays these roles because he can relate to being affected by the beauty standard and is trying to send the message that his and other people's visuals aren't everything.
@@donewiththeworld Also, another argument against it is that he is an idol and has to have a certain "clean" image, which is probably written into his contract along with "no dating" and not saying anything scandalous or offensive on camera, so he plays "good boys" in all his roles to keep this image
100% agree with this! I think Eunwoo has made many smart choices with his dramas that showcase progressive ideas (unfortunately not common in today's Korean society). He hasn't gotten a whole lot of credit for his choices because people focus on the "tsundere" stereotype/typecasting, but it has paid long-term dividends in terms of his image and fame, I think. ETA: You're also entirely right that celebrating men for not being toxic when women are derided for being feminist is in and of itself a product of misogyny, but I think the thing we as women can do is ensure that we lift other women up and protect them when they are the target of defamation. Simply refusing to praise a man doesn't do anything to help women either, haha, so I support this video!
Yes, absolutely! I have a suspicion that people who say that he always plays tsundere characters haven't actually watched any of his k-dramas till the end. And this typecasting only applies to 2 of his k-dramas anyway, it's not that many. Tons of actors play the same type of role over and over again.
I also noticed that people usually would downgrade good-looking people despite anything they worked hard for. Just like what you said that people tend to only look at his face and not what he says. I'm pretty sure all the dramas he was in all this time is popular because of how good he (and the other actors) deliever the messages. He is so open to new ideas and always so hungry for knowledges, even he always emphasizing on the characters traits and not the external sides of the dramas. Anyway, thank you for this video, I hope it reaches a lot of people
I love this video and how you pointed out that Cha Eun Woo chooses these kinds of roles. It also helps me pick the dramas. Park Hyungsik also picks dramas with strong female roles but it mostly overlooked
I'm sorry for my bad English. I really like your video, Eunwoo is an amazing man, not only in k-dramas, in the real life he's so kind and can transmit it to everyone he meet him. He's characters show us a little part of himself, the most of them are gentle, respectful and cute, I think that's the reasons he's characters are so lovely
Your analysis is pretty spot on. I also realised that Eunwoo chooses to play characters with strong feminist ideals. He was particularly endearing as soft-natured Dowon. His character in My ID is Gangnam Beauty was really good. I was always pleased when Do Kyung-seok would call people out on their behaviour. He was a compelling character. I want to add that his character in Top Management was also brilliant. Thought that was not a feminist drama, his character was quite gentle with the female lead, knew his boundaries and kept to them, and definitely never made the woman uncomfortable. It was definitely refreshing to watch. [Though if we were to talk about the most progressive characters in kdrama, I think Park Saeroyi has got everyone beat.] I did think that Eunwoo's acting was not the best in the earlier works, but its definitely improved loads now. I bet his upcoming works would be even more amazing.
There is no lack of beauty in korean entertainment industry but he stood out with slow sizzle and dignified vibe. It's great that he's purpose driven in selecting his creative work. Look forward to more of this great talent!
If it makes you feel any better, Suho was severely butchered as a character in the drama. He is far less problematic in the WEBTOON the show is based on. It was one of the bigger issues I had with the adaptation, if not the biggest issue. Eun Woo knew about the character before he said yes to the role, and how Suho is portrayed in the WEBTOON was probably a part of his deciding factor for taking the role.
Exactly I was so mad at the drama adaptation. SUHO in webtoon was my fave♥️. He was a great guy. Much better than Seojun. I really didn't liked Seojun in the webtoon. But in the drama the director made Seojun a 'good guy'💀 but he was the issue. Idk why they did it.
Namjoon not getting backlash and irene getting backlash isnt a double standard . Its mysoginy . irene was getting backlash from her sexist male fans , while she got support by feminist female fans . Namjoon was getting support by his feminist female fans , and hate by sexist ones . The difference in the amount of hate is because RV has a bigger male fandom compared to BTS which is majority female cz its a boy group. These two cases shouldnt be comparable cz its not the same type of people have 2 different reactions to the same thing . Its 2 types of people having different reactions to the same thing .
Thank you for this: I agree totally with your analysis. I have always found criticism of his acting skills unfounded. He is masterful in portraying such stoic characters when he s naturally ebullient and cheeky as shown in many of his earlier roles.
Totally! Audiences demand actors that looks perfect and when someone comes along who fits the beauty standards they complain that they can't take him seriously because he is handsome
That was an interesting analysis, it gave me a new perspective on Cha Eun Woo. However, I disagree with the notion that roles reveal a lot about actors since there are many factors that determine what roles actors are able to secure. It is easy for actors to become typecatted and therefore end up playing the same characters or having their choices narrowed down by their appearance. These are just two examples. It would be premature to make that assumption unless the actor has explicitly expressed those sentiments/behaviors outside of their roles.
Yeah, I agree, the roles are fictional and the job of an actor is literally to pretend to be someone else. I don't think he plays himself in these k-dramas. There are lots of examples of actors who are super sweet in real life but play the most vicious villains. But at the level of fame that Eunwoo has, he definitely gets to choose his roles and gets a lot of screenplays to pick from. It it pure speculation though, we can't actually know what his personal beliefs are, so yes, you are absolutely correct :)
@@kdramaresearchinstitute For the first 2 roles he has gotten he was not in the level of fame yet to reject roles especially main lead roles that idol actors would kill to have. The 3rd role he accepted because his bandmates bin and sanha like the webtoon and told him suho role will fit him well so when he got the script it was like fate so he accepted it.
I only have a short time to respond right now. But I did listen to your whole video and I really agree with your analysis of the KDramas which Cha Eun Woo has acted in. I became a fan of his after seeing Rookie Historian and then watching My ID Is Gangnam Beauty and part of True Beauty. My hope is that he has chosen these roles because they express his attitude about women and beauty and all. He does seem like a truly caring, respectful young man. Because there is so much adulation and focus on his extraordinary visuals, I do hope he will continue to be humble and kind and respectful towards women, as well as men. So far, he appears to be doing well. 16:12
I am currently watching his new k-drama Island, which has a completely different type of plot and I was wondering how this theme would carry over - even though he is not the romantic lead there, it is still quite a feminist tv show with a strong and smart female lead. I think he chooses these roles with intent
I love this video and how CEW's character was portrayed and analysed. I'm pretty sure his character is much like the character he plays; respectful and considerate.
Thank you for this video! I first saw Cha Eun Woo in Rookie Historian and was captivated by his portrayal of the gentle, honest, and brave prince. His acting was wonderful, and I couldn't understand why anyone would criticize it. The part seemed to be written for him. I think some people were not only just focused on his face but perhaps were also uncomfortable with the role reversal between him and female lead. Maybe they didn't appreciate his ability to be vulnerable and express an array of emotions. That's simply excellent acting. Not only that, there seemed to be no other character quite like this one in k-dramas I'd seen, so perhaps people weren't used to it. I think he's a trailblazer when it comes to male roles in k-dramas. I also watched the other two dramas you analyze and I agree that his choice of roles says something important about him personally, and that he is indeed a feminist ally.
I feel like a lot of Eunwoo haters only saw the first episode of Gangnam Beauty and True Beauty and thought that these were too similar, and didn't actually watch Rookie Historian, where he gets to show off his acting skills more.
I agree with you. His acting in Rookie Historian made me see he is actually good actor. As Yirim he is sweet, clumsy, playful, funny and become mature, brave, respectful. That role and the director really brought out his true potential as young actor. Now he is also good in movie Decibel despite only 7 minutes he stole attention. Recently also it is refreshing to see him as powerful exorcist priest in series Island. When other said he is improved in Island as Yohan, I usually said to them to watch him in Rookie Historian too.
I haven't really seen any of his kdramas before, now i want to check out a few of them, they sound interesting. I don't know if you can define someone for the roles they play, it could happen that people choose to play the bad guy because there aren't many roles available for them, however, when they are pretty popular and consistently choose to play the misogynist that is portrayed as a hero (kinda like Lee Min-Ho), there is a problem that one you see you can't unsee. People are talking about this, but not really when it's about k-dramas, i'm glad you made this video :)
There are plenty of examples of actors who play the worst villains, but are the sweetest people in real life. The job of an an actor is to pretend to be someone else, so we can't assume that people choose these roles because they agree with a fictional villain. But Cha Eunwoo often talks about how people never take him seriously because he is handsome and that he wishes people would pay attention to what he does instead. And coincidentally the k-dramas where he is the male lead are exactly about this topic, so there must be something he saw in these scripts that made him choose it
Thank you very much for your very smart and truthful analysis of Cha Eun Woo's acting in some of his movies/ dramas! He displayed his acting prowess called for by the different roles. As he progressess , he has shown remarkable improvement in his performances which is an indication that he will become a great actor. His determination, commitment, perseverance, and hard work are his surefire weapons to be as such. In addition, his whole personality is a big plus for him to be successful in his chosen career. I guess , he is destined to be a "somebody" in the the field of performing: singing, dancing, modelling, and more importantly, acting. I sincerely believe in this. Again, thank you very much for your in-depth analysis. I will look forward to listening to your comments on my idol Nunu.
Rookie Historian is my favorite k-drama for the exact reasons you stated. I also think Yi Rim is the most attractive male character of any k-drama I’ve watched. I liked the first half of True Beauty, but when they started doing wrist grabs and going in that direction, I cut my losses and stopped watching.
i do believe that he sees something in those characters that he likes. No one made him accept those roles and he never played someone that is misogynistic, (plenty of those characters in kdramas).. we don't know how he behaves in his real relationships with women but definitely his values are out there, he wants to be a decent guy, hopefully he lives as one too.
Interesting analysis video. With his choice of roles and more improved acting in movie Decibel and series Island, I think he likes also characters that has inner conflict and many sides (Priest Yohan) and in the end to do what's right no matter what, not what he wants.
I appreciate this video analysis of Eunwoo's acting because while he struggles with gripping the audience with his facial expressions, I do think he is a smart person in being able to pick dramas that would best represent him. Cause yes him being handsome has a lot to do with him being casted; but it also has to do with Eunwoo connecting with the character. Actors don't pick roles unless they love their character. Cause they cannot act a character well if they hate them. They can't hate themselves lol.
This video should be highly appreciated. It was really meaningful. TBH I have watched most of his dramas but never thought so deeply like this. Thank you for opening my eyes.
I stumbled into this while searching for something to watch in korean movies and dramas ( haven't done it in ages ) and I decided to finish watching it until the end . Hoping that this actor has resemblance to the characters that he plays in real life . Not too many males out there are like this anymore . If he is , then he's one of the rare kind . Wishing him all the best in his career . 😊👍llee
True Beauty was the first kdrama I watched with Eun Woo and I was a hardcore Seo Jun lover .... TBH I truly fell for him outside of his face. I love how approachable and kind he is. He is someone that I know I would just click with as we are very similar in preferences and ideology. It also helps we're around the same age (he's a bit younger than me). My husband refers to him as my idol bestie. Edit: I honestly loved his character in My ID.
i agree for historian rookie is really my favourite of all historical dramas and True Drama is my top favourite of high school romance (watched about 100 x tbh)....really sweet and lovely
Wonderful analysis!! I have seen all the dramas and I had never made those reflections.. I agree with you 100%...They only focus on him acting very cold and not on what he says or does. I would love to see if you analyze his current drama #Island
From the episodes that came out so far Island doesn't seem to have the same overt feminist message, but the female lead is strong and smart. We'll have to wait until all the episodes air :)
I honestly do not blame people who congratulate men for the bare minimum, although I do think we shouldn’t. After being used to men treating women like crap, seeing the rare man who is actually a cool person is refreshing and gladdening. I just wish more men weren’t neanderthals so the bare minimum was the standard. I honestly prefer the feminism presented in kdramas because I relate to it more; I am a girly girl who is bubbly but isn’t the type to fight or swear at people. In Western media, I always felt like I was not being a woman correctly since confident women were shown to be tomboyish, swear a lot or are serious. Kdramas made me feel comforted because it showed me that I do not have to give up my cute outfits, make up and perfume to be a feminist. Great analysis! I should look into one of his shows
13:24 just want to say that people really forget that he (namjoon) was only praised by his female fans & international fans his name was still all over the anti feminists websites in SK plus red velvet & ig most girl groups have predominantly male fans in their fanbases & vice versa for male groups so mostly men hating on irene & women praising nj makes 'sense' ik ofcourse there are double standard but i feel like this example is just not right considering those two have different audiences & it does not consider other factors here but i really like your channel & analysis!
im going through all your videos now! super interesting videos, well thought out analysis, and wonderful editing! i don't even watch kdrama that often haha!! love it :D
i started watching Deborah and i really like the male lead. He's not perfect, he has many flaws but i find him very likeable. Maybe because we spend so much time with him compare to other love interest. On the other side the boss of the company is my worst nightmare. So this drama is really something to me.
What a great video! I'd just like to say that as much as I agree that being a non-toxic person should be the bare minimum, I disagree with your point about not giving positive feedback where it is deserved. Being praised like an icon is a little too much for not being an assh*le, but we absolutely _should_ give men positive responses for doing good, because they are taught not to. They have to unlearn the toxicity that they have been taught, just like we have to learn things like being confident and that we as women are strong and capable. If we praise women for being trailblazers and iconic, then the men who contribute to women being able to shine and get the recognition they deserve, should also be given deserved praise, so more men are incentivized to make a change. What is obvious for me as a woman, might not be so obvious to a random straight man, and if I want to see change in the world, I have to be understanding of that. Yes, it is unfair, but no change has come about by people sitting around calling everything unfair, but not actively contributing towards making it happen.
You are absolutely right :) We should be talking about it when men are allies and what it is they are doing right! The bar should be higher than making men into feminist kings for saying they think women deserve basic human rights, lol
we can both critisize an actor's skill while simulaneously applaud him for his choice of roles. honestly, i don't like him as an actor or as a face, but i am happy he's so popular and uses it to play these positive roles that his millions of teen girl fans watch. when such a famous actor chooses roles where the women beside him shine, that overrides discussion about his acting ability. i would like to than his managers for giving him great scripts
I like true beauty but not as much as I like the plot & values of Gangnam Beauty & Rookie Historian, and that’s because I’m no longer a teenager 😅 I’m not into silly selfish vain high school main character anymore. I would Only rewatch true beauty because of the bromance between Suho & Seojun.
I do disagree with the "do not praise men for being feminist allies" i think we should praise both women and men, because how the human reward system. More men will become feminist allies if they get a small "reward" - in the form of praise. It's not exclusive to men, if we give women praise for being feminists there will also be more female feminists.
That's a good point, I see what you mean. I think the "don't praise men for the bare minimum" should apply to situations where people do the bare minimum that should be the standard: for example if a man doesn't catcall or doesn't say derogatory things about women, then it should not be treated as an achievement, that's just what a normal adult does. If someone makes an active effort to make the world better then we should be appreciating it :) But it should apply to women as well - very often we praise men for saying women deserve human rights, but criticize women for doing the same. Men should want to be feminist allies because this is the right thing to do and not because it might get them a small reward!
@@kdramaresearchinstitute exactly! And also like you said, men should do it not to get women to like them more, but because they actually care and think sexism is wrong. Thank you for understanding my point, people have a tendency to misunderstand on socials today.
Also, it doesnt help that True beauty is a rom-com reduced to almost slapstick comedy and very cliched. It's a surprise Suho was decent to that extent xD. Also, people thinking Han SeoJun was a better person than Suho never really made sense to me
This essay has a lot of biases. In true beauty they literally promoted makeup more than accepting the female leads own skin. In my id gangnum beauty the boy fell for the girl after she had done surgery. It is so surface level show off body positivity trap.
That would be terrific, if these were not "characters" of films. I'm certain Eun Woo is divine and a kind hearted individual. But these are roles he has played, not a depiction of his personal views. It is the creation of the producers of the series. Fortunately, he's selected for these roles, which suit his gentle demeanor well.
That is a very good point and I agree that these are fictional characters and not him playing himself, so yes you are correct! I have been thinking about this ever since I made this video and still haven't made up my mind about this. This is an analysis of common themes in the roles Eunwoo chooses. Because I don't know him as a person I can't know what he really thinks privately, so these are just assumptions. I think there is a clear pattern of him choosing roles in feminist k-dramas though and if an actress always played a feminist I would assume she cares about these topics. There must be something in these scripts that he chooses that he finds compelling :)
That’s very kind and humble of you to say. It shows you are a positive, caring soul that looks for the best in people. I also have been thinking that if he did not find these rules to be appropriate, he would decline the projects. It’s something like park, bo gum in the roles that he has landed. They portray him mostly as innocent, hard-working, and kind.
@@jackiecalle6757 No, you're a kind humble an positive soul! Haha. I was actually wondering when someone would point out that these roles likely don't mean that he 100% agrees with everything his characters do. I was hoping for nuanced discourse and interesting discussions about k-dramas when I started this channel, so thank you for commenting in a critical and well thought out way! Eunwo possibly being a feminist or maybe not is pretty innocent, this argument becomes weirder depending on which actors it is applied to. Lee Joonki always plays morally grey characters, Lee Minho always plays toxic arrogant guys, Park Minyoung always plays a woman who starts dating at work, Seo Yeji always plays very dark roles, I would not be as confident of accusing them of identifying with these traits as I am with Eunwoo...
@@kdramaresearchinstitute Thank You for your kind words. You made me realize the chances that these actors take in staking their "reputations" for the possibility of scoring "specific roles" in these series' -- And I totally agree that what attracted me initially to the Goody Goody Boys like Park Bo Gum / Cha Eun Woo / Kim Seon Ho in the first place, was the gentleness/kindness displayed in their various acting roles. But nothing cemented my "image" of them until I saw the respectful way they interacted with other actors, production crew and their fans when they were "off-camera." --- Yes, there is some scandal with Seon Ho's personal life, and there will be other scandals over time, because media loves gossip. But I think these guys' essence will remain unchanged. Either way, I prefer to support the polite, kind, considerate, non-diva actor (and actress). And I simply identify more with artists like Eun Woo than the "bad boys." Haa! Thank you Mr. Cha, Mr. Park and Mr. Kim for keeping yourselves humble and kind! Gamsamnida!!! P.S. I do realize that once these guys pass their mid 30s, the "school-boy romance" roles will no longer fit. And they will be casted for more mature roles, some more serious and some maybe a bit rough. Hopefully, they'll still be able to select from those, the roles that are best suited to the "image" they want to continue to project. And hopefully their agencies will go to bat for them to achieve their clients' image goals, instead of pressuring them to go into other directions.

Well, he is not a big old red flag, the creepy aspect is only in a few episodes, the rest of the time he is a loving and supportive boyfriend who loves her the way she is... Maybe I should read the webtoon after all to see what the difference is
@@kdramaresearchinstitutetbh it was still kinda not it...like-- i guess that's why people liked the other guy (seo jun) he was much more supportive of her.
I like the idea of roles he plays, but sadly I wish he`d work more on actually being a good actor. I like his personality(or what is shown to us as his personality, remember, media training is very real),but that doesn`t negate the fact he`s not a very good actor yet, relying on his appearance to book roles instead. Agree wholeheartedly about the double standards, but I`d like to mention that politicians(South Korea included) don`t really, for example, make their subordinates read a book so that they`ll learn something. More often than not,it`s a way for them to look good,be seen as an ally, whilst most of them in reality have a very incel approach to feminism and problems women face.
I feel like it is circular - he gets cast in a role because of his looks and it's a role that is not super challenging, so he gets cast again in something similar because he hasn't played something challenging yet and so on and so on. He is no Yeo Jin Goo in terms of acting skills, but he is definitely getting there, I hope to see him in more complex roles that break away from the "cold rich boyfriend" archetype, where he can learn and showcase more :)
@@kdramaresearchinstitute Definitely not. Given what the modern feminism turned into it is no wonder many women despise it and do not want to have anything to do with it. Of course these women's opinion is completely ignored by feminists (both female and malke).
The thing is Korean actors choose their roles (especially as they are handed to them when they get popular). So actors should definitely be identified for the roles they pick.
The difference between Irene and Namjoon's situation is it is more likely male fans criticising her whereas Namjoon was praised by female fans, so it comes down to an issue of audience maybe? Idk
Irene was criticized by men and women alike. So I would have to disagree here. It seems more like Namjoon has the general audience's respect, and Irene struggles with keeping it.
I get why people are into Seojun: Hwang In Yeop is a brilliant actor who was perfect for this role. A good love triangle has to be polarizing, and his storyline is heartbreaking, but Jukyung and Suho were always in love with each other and always belonged together. She was never in love with Seojun in the k-drama, why would they end up together, that would make no sense in the plot!

Oh yeah, I saw that one! Master in the House gives some great insight into how he thinks
I saw that one too 🥰
That one is unforgettable!
Idk the translation I watched isn’t attending a girlfriends gathering but a group dating meeting.
which number episode was that?
I noticed the sensation of non-aggressive sensuality from him in the photos he models, he is masculine but not aggressive, I felt that, you made me see that his characters are also mostly like that, I totally agree and I loved the video. Thanks
I actually never thought about this, but you are right, he always gives this type of energy!
That’s such a good way to explain it! He’s so attractive! 😭
He most likely also plays these roles because he can relate to being affected by the beauty standard and is trying to send the message that his and other people's visuals aren't everything.
Yeah, I agree :)
I like this idea but honestly I just think it’s the roles he’s being offered
Anyway, thank you for this video, I hope it reaches a lot of people
I loved this video. I agree his drama choices are impeccable. Not only in dramas, in real life too - he is respectful and polite
Thank you! Yes, I think he is doing a lot of things right in his career :)
Cha Eun Woo's k-dramas are not about the guys he plays, he is there to support telling complex stories about women"
SO ON POINT!
I love this video and how you pointed out that Cha Eun Woo chooses these kinds of roles. It also helps me pick the dramas. Park Hyungsik also picks dramas with strong female roles but it mostly overlooked
Yes, Park Hyung Sik is also an actor who always plays men who are absolutely in love with a strong female lead!
Your English is better than most native speakers!
[Though if we were to talk about the most progressive characters in kdrama, I think Park Saeroyi has got everyone beat.]
I did think that Eunwoo's acting was not the best in the earlier works, but its definitely improved loads now. I bet his upcoming works would be even more amazing.
Oh, I haven't watched Top Management, but I am not surprised. Really interested in watching Itaewon Class, thanks for the tip!
@@kdramaresearchinstitute Top Management was worth the RUclips Premium subscription XD
If you watch Itaewon Class some day, hope you enjoy it!
Oh I haven't read the webtoon, but it makes sense!
Period
@@kdramaresearchinstitute
For the first 2 roles he has gotten he was not in the level of fame yet to reject roles especially main lead roles that idol actors would kill to have. The 3rd role he accepted because his bandmates bin and sanha like the webtoon and told him suho role will fit him well so when he got the script it was like fate so he accepted it.
He is a sensitive and a lovable human being. For me this is what a man have to be like!
Cha Eunwoo is a nice and kind person
@@kdramaresearchinstitute - I plan to watch it, too. I’ll look forward to any other analysis video that you post.
@@kdramaresearchinstitute Yes, that would explain a lot.

Yeah I agree :) We don't actually know what he thinks privately, but there is more evidence pointing to him being respectful to women, than not!
@K-drama Research Institute i just saw him somewhere saying that he feels like he's 70% similar to all his role characters😀
I love CHA EUN WOO vvv much....he is reallyt TOP TOP TOP

This is such a good vid…you are very good at analyzing and have refreshing takes
Sorry but that is feminism
I think he's a great actor.

I should look into one of his shows
I like eun woo ❤ I look forward to all his films

13:24 just want to say that people really forget that he (namjoon) was only praised by his female fans & international fans his name was still all over the anti feminists websites in SK plus red velvet & ig most girl groups have predominantly male fans in their fanbases & vice versa for male groups so mostly men hating on irene & women praising nj makes 'sense' ik ofcourse there are double standard but i feel like this example is just not right considering those two have different audiences & it does not consider other factors here but i really like your channel & analysis!

i started watching Deborah and i really like the male lead. He's not perfect, he has many flaws but i find him very likeable. Maybe because we spend so much time with him compare to other love interest. On the other side the boss of the company is my worst nightmare. So this drama is really something to me.
Oh I haven't started that one yet, still waiting for all episodes to come out :) Sounds promising, excited to watch it!

Same! They are highschoolers and their problems a bit childish, I relate more to the other two :)
Total package 🥰

I loved him❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That would be terrific, if these were not "characters" of films.
We love Cha EunWoo?

This is how I find out that they changed the plot of True Beauty from the Webtoon version and made Suho a big ol red flag?
Well, he is not a big old red flag, the creepy aspect is only in a few episodes, the rest of the time he is a loving and supportive boyfriend who loves her the way she is... Maybe I should read the webtoon after all to see what the difference is
@@kdramaresearchinstitutetbh it was still kinda not it...like-- i guess that's why people liked the other guy (seo jun) he was much more supportive of her.
suho was the best, han seojun was random high school bully and may u ask you why do you think seojun supported her more?? @@Th3Visitor
You would like Miss Hammurabi.
Uuh, I haven't watched that one yet, will put it it on my to watch list :)
@@kdramaresearchinstitute It's definitely a drama with feminist themes!
Agree love nunu💘💘💘
Feminist ally? Why not just womens' ally?
isn't that the same thing?
@@kdramaresearchinstitute Definitely not. Given what the modern feminism turned into it is no wonder many women despise it and do not want to have anything to do with it. Of course these women's opinion is completely ignored by feminists (both female and malke).
👍
❤️❤️❤️
Is he in alchemy of souls?
No, he is not in Alchemy of Souls. He is currently in "Island", which is also a fantasy action drama, but set in modern time
An actor should not be identified with his roles, I still agree that he is respectful and polite, but I have seen more beautiful Asian men 🧐😉
you sound like a hater
@@kssgpv you don't have good hearing😉, i'm not a hater. I think Cha is a good guy and a good actor.
Someone finally made it..Toxic Seojun fans say suho is toxic Cuz he broken up with Jukyoung 🤦♀️🤦♀️ Eunwoo Doesn't look bad guy 😂😂😂
@@kdramaresearchinstitute yes..Every 2nd ml is making fans heartbreaking 😔 leave seojun fans.We are ok that suho is end up with Jukyoung. Hope he wont be cold role in next time Cuz stupid people say why is he cold & can't act.. Every cold ml is green flag 🤷♀️ Haters has no brain.
