I just realized that the fans who were playing this and other games in their childhood are doing a better job than the creators in remakes like this …the nostalgia factor is always there in their work and very prominent

Looks great, idk if tecmo or team ninja watching this but they should remake the original 2D ninja gaiden games into this style, I'll buy 'em in a heartbeat.

Although this looks amazing, the gameplay looks a little too slow. In particular his slashing speed. Which is, of course, easily fixed. I love what you did with the background though: all the references there are so badass! And as a guy who was born and raised in NYC, you guys perfectly recreated the feel of it in the 80's!
Yeah, i think you might be right... but i'm not sure if the gameplay is too slow or the run animation is too fast... i don't really like that animation tbh. The slash... yeah... that can be a bit slow, but we tried to recreate the fact that in the original game when you press the action button the ninja stops for a second, but maybe we went too far on that.
As much as I like everything else, the coolest part of NG for me was always how the enemies literally exploded when you got them. Something about that "ThWAP!" sound...
Needs the dreaded knockback mechanic and regenerating enemies from their spawn point. Can the new generation handle what we all struggled through? Cost some of us NES controllers or two, and Nintendos weren't cheap back then. Great job, though! May this be a success for the creator of this demo.
You know......if this was released as a game....a fan game....that would be cool. Also maybe do one of the Arcade version? I know, wishful thinking. Very cool, great job by everyone involved.
We would love to do that but we don´t have the rights... so, at least for now we can´t!... But... we are making the intro cutscene!! It´s one of my all time favorite cutscenes, we have to do it!

The cutscenes on NG NES were "ahead" of its time. In the remake, heads are literally rolling.

They totally need to do this with alot of games. It worked perfectly with TMNT Turtles in time RE SHELLED...the best $10 ever spent on Playstation
